Half of the country doesnt work when it rains, wtf
Where im at, its been raining since yesterday. Yesterday i went to the gym while it was raining and the gym was closed. Called few girls to meet up and they said they were not coming out (even when the rain stopped), half of the shops were closed. This morning i decided to go to the gym because even though it is raining today, the gym opens at 7am here and the rain started around 8.30, so i thought the gym would be open, i go to the gym and gym closed, wtf.
The world is becoming globalized but i guess that western spirit didnt get here yet where when it rains you still have to get your shit done. Now, i would understand if the infrastructure here was really fucked up and the whole country was inundated with rain, however their infrastructure is pretty good for a third world country and i can walk around without much problems. Aint that some bitch ass shit to sit indoors and not get anything done just because is raining.
P.S. Im in DR btw

One of the funniest things I've seen the last few years in the ATL area. There's been some pretty good snow, every redneck has a jacked up 4x4 with heavy tires. A the first flake, all the businesses shut down, and they all run home. Here I go on bald tires and never had to put it in 4WD. I grew up in the mountains though, and people still know how to traverse bad weather.
As for the DR, the public trans system here isn't all that great. I lot of people use motoconcho's to get to and from work. It would suck taking one in the rain. And take a look at some of the gua-gua's here. Some are missing doors. That's part of it. Then again the work ethic here isn't exactly up to U.S. or U.K. standards.
Yeah people here cannot deal with even a half inch of snow. Problems is ice though. It's a legit issue and there are no salt trucks within 500 miles.
I lived in CT for a year before moving here where we had one of the worst winters in a while. It snowed like 70" in a 2 day period or something stupid like that. Yup, still had to drive over a mountain and report to work. I had a RWD car, but with snow tires and electronic traction control it did the job and was pretty fun to drift around.

Dude, not everyone chases money. Some people just want to make enough money to enjoy life now instead of working all the time.

Not hating on you at all Pitt. I am just teasing you man. I just thought it was funny how you want to live life and not chase money while complaining about countries not having the western mentality of working.
Nothing wrong with that but when everyone does that then you sit inside when it rains because everyone is not working.
I think you got some potential and hope you push yourself a little more towards it.

Folks in the American south crack me up when word gets out that a "snowstorm" is on the way. I grew up in Ohio and Kentucky, and it snows here almost every winter without fail - some worse than others.
Some years ago I went to visit my brother in North Carolina, where he was stationed in the military. Weather advisory goes out that the region is expecting TWO INCHES of snow - everybody flips. Groceries stores sell out of milk, bread, toilet paper, etc.
I never could understand it. Here two inches of snow means you leave the house a minute early to brush off the car, then go about your day.
