Just curious what is middle market finance? I swear, I don't understand anybody's job title these days anymore without a lengthy explanation.

Also, not to prod into your biz, but 110k a year is like $9,100/month before tax. Do you have a lot of debt or something? Because I'd probably be able to sock away $5000 a month with that income.

You wouldn't because you get destroyed by taxes.

I have done a "personal case study" (and an extremely extensive one at that) and LA is the harder than the aforementioned cities I keep mentioning.

And I have more advantages in LA also.

Quote:I really think in LA if you can get into a house with roommates or without, it makes a huge difference. Do you need cash? Of course you do, but I'm not convinced that having your own apartment is any cheaper though.

The "house" solution seemed to hold more weight back in the 90's.

You don't get neighbors complaining/calling the cops/pissed off if you and three buddies bring back 5 girls from the club, blast music, break out the beeks, and pouring heavy booze?

You must have a unique neighbor situation.

Exactly this. After a while how many 6s and 7s can you run through? And it's not like they are just bending over and submitting, they still require a lot of effort and game. Then you see the 8s and 9s and such and they are just out of reach.

Nice take on it... I have to say I agree. It's going to be a damn near Herculean effort for me to get a prototypical ice-queen 9 at a Hollywood club, but I do quite well with the 7's I meet in ethnic areas in LA. Then again, I think it helps because I'm not really into white girls very much.

I'm into white girls, so it makes it a lot more difficult to pull what I want consistently.

I think the best girls in LA are not "white" at least not American-style white. And definitely the accessible 8's and up (at least the ones accessible to me!) are definitely not white.

I'll be honest and reiterate what I said from experience...hot LA girls are the hardest in the US to get. I never banged a girl from LA proper and I really just had success with European women, which in my opinion are hotter, but American girls raised in LA? Forget about it, not worth the time, effort or the cash. My friend came from Brazil and is totally loaded...went to a club in Hollywood, spent more money on a table than most pay on their monthly rent, had a couple of girls that stopped by, had a drink and then left. He was like "wtf," they didn't even stop to talk.

LA girls, just because they're from LA think they're the shit and entitled to everything. They know stuff is expensive and need some sort of sugar daddy. I knew a couple at my school that were open about not getting together with anyone making less than 150K. And these girls were not even that good looking. They were blonde and just thought that was enough.

I think it's best to enjoy the city with some foreign girls...so for example if you're in school, get to know some of the exchange students. They usually are just enamored with California in general from all the stuff they see in their home countries on TV and will totally be up and willing to go with you anywhere. Everything there is new for them. I once went out with this beautiful German girl from class and we had a blast...in Oxnard.

LA and the surrounding areas are fun places if you're with the right people.

Well, your right. A bottle service table in a nightclub is not exactly going to knock a girl from LA (high end hoods) over. She has been seeing that sh*t since she first got a fake ID.

And LA girls (even from high end hoods) are not very international or cosmopolitan. In regards to your Brazilian friend, their thoughts were probably:

LA Girl 1: "Ewww, did you see that weird Persian guy with the bottle service? I couldn't even understand him."

LA Girl 2: "Yeah, he talked with an accent. Arab guys are so weird and creepy."

LA Girl 1: I know. Thank god it is almost 1:30am. Let's drive home, get off these high heels and put on some UGG boots.

LA Girl 2: Great idea. I am taking off this skirt and throwing on my Juicy Couture sweat pants too. It is SO LATE. I wish clubs closed at 10pm and their was NO SMOKING allowed anywhere in California.

LA Girl 1: I heard there is some place on the east coast called Miami where clubs stay open all night. I hate that. Plus I heard it is all "Mexican's" there. Like everyone is a Mexican. So weird.

And just to make my viewpoint clear, I would say LA is an absolute cakewalk compared to many foreign cities that I have been to around the world.

"C-Grade America" is a hell of a lot easier than "A-Grade Foreign Country".

^^^this statement rings true. Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem were much tougher than Hollywood. Admittedly, Israeli girls at night are b-tchy as fck.

Its also false, in that most parts of Asia are much easier than Hollywood.

Unless you're in the Entertainment business (or family) why is anyone in LA then? It just seems miserable. Just move to NYC and be done with it. I'm not sure what kind of misery is worse: DC misery where you don't have too many hot girls and there is plenty of attitude or LA misery where there are a ton of hot girls but they largely out of reach most of the time and have attitude.

I for one think it's largely a problem of too many good-looking young guys with a lot of money skewing the expectations of the poor little bimbos....there's going to be a lot of embalmed-looking 50-YO cat ladies in LA....

I will clarify:

I rank LA behind NYC, Las Vegas, Miami and a few other cities for "ease of swoop".

But I rank LA ahead of all the rest of America.

And I rank LA above international big cities as well ie Bogota, Buenos Aires, Riga, Latvia, Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante, Santander, San Sebastian, Nice, Paris, Italy, Portugal, London etc.

LA might rank on par with Montreal for "ease of swoop" (for different reasons) in my mind.

I hope that cleared my thoughts up.

Access to mountains, cool people (since most are "immigrants" from the rest of U.S. with a story and a dream), car drive to Vegas, can be in Big Bear, Tahoe, etc.

Serious professionals use drugs, smoke weed, no big deal.

lol at the drugs thing...the last time I got molly, and keep in mind it was the BEST molly I've ever had, I got it from the H.R. director where I work. Human fucking resources. And she gave it to me in her office, on company property, on company time.

Maybe I was just out of the loop before but I feel like blow is making a huge comeback. 10 years ago I barely knew anyone that was using it or could get it, now I've got ridiculous hookups and when it's around it's like kids in a candy shop. I can't remember the last time I heard someone say, "Nah I don't do that shit." Comes out at parties and all of a sudden everyone's eyes get a little bigger.

Everyone out here is chill, we get things done without being so go getter/agro/typeA about it like they are on the east coast. Blow's always been big around here. Its basically like Marijuana used to be. Heroin was big a few years ago, but i won't touch that. its not a super traditional professional career trajectory out here, sure there are accounting firms and what not..but on the westside, its pretty eclectic.

Hold up, let's not get carried away here. DC is its own special nightmare. I don't think DC vs LA comparisons even make sense considering how different the quality of the women is between the two cities.

The thing that is tough about LA is consistently getting top notch pussy if you don't have a good niche. I mean, I did bang some pretty hot chicks when I was in LA, but I met all of them through my social circle or work, and that is a problem because once I had mined all the hot chicks in my social circle or work, I was back to square one.

LA is just too damn expensive to spend most of your time banging 6s and 7s. You could bang 6s and 7s non-stop in almost any major city in the USA. Like I said, the tough part is finding a way to bang lots of hot chicks in LA because you absolutely need some kind of a niche. If you don't have a niche in LA to exploit, then you are going to be doing a lot of "window shopping" with respect to the hot chicks in LA.

You already know what I'm gonna say..

Another reason why it is hard for you to consistently pull whites girls is the fact that you do not day game at UCLA, USC, Pepperdine or LMU. You only go to high end places at night. You are operating in the most difficult places. You are targeting the most difficult girls in all of LA, maybe the most difficult girls in America.

College white girls are usually much easier to deal with compared to the nightlife princesses. Many of these younger college girls are more naive and more down to earth. They haven't learned to put up bitch shields and play all the bullshit games.

Many of them are new in town from other parts of the country.

Many of them would love to date a slightly older man with a little cash.

If you like'um young, like'um thin, and like'um white, why wouldn't you go to UCLA/USC/LMU or, better yet, go to a State school like Long Beach/Northridge where the white girls are even easier.

This is especially a good idea for you Slubu since you look like a college senior.

This would open up a whole new world young, thin, white girls for you.

Why go after the most difficult white girls in America when there thousands of much easier white girls only a few blocks away?

This guy is talking my language!

I say, even if you are not in school, still get to know some exchange students. Think about it -- Beautiful, young girls from all over the world all gather in the same spot. These girls are often fascinated by California and would love for a handsome local to show them around. And, they usually have no problem with older guys.

(06-27-2013 10:55 AM)Menace Wrote:  LA misery where there are a ton of hot girls but they largely out of reach most of the time and have attitude.

I don't think hot girls in LA are "out of reach". I just think that most guys on this forum are going after the most difficult girls in the most difficult places. Plus, no one here is in the entertainment industry. If you want to consistently pull actress and models, you should have some niche within the industry.

We have guys who work a 9-5 in "the valley" and then go to Hollywood at night to compete for the best of the best. Then, they complain about how difficult it is.

How many guys are day gaming at UCLA?

None.

I am the only guy who talks about day gaming at UCLA. And, I feel that is one of the best strategies to use in LA. but, no one is willing to do it.

You guys probably think I'm crazy. I think it's crazy to not take my advice.

I mean, there are thousands of young, cute girls walking around UCLA right now, as I write this, but, will anyone go there and talk to them? No.

Its crazy to me. Guys complain about how hard it is but yet they are not willing to fish in the largest and most abundant fishing hole..

If your strategy is not working, change your strategy.

But, what do I know? I'm a 37 year old man who only day games at universities and goes to bed at 10:30pm..

Hey Gio, I'm the same age as you. Do you lie about your age when you day game on colleges? Late 20s is about the youngest I could get away with.

What angle do you use when you approach them? If you're not a student I imagine they'll be curious why you are walking around the campus. Do you do some pet store type opener?

Edit - -

Gio, I thought you live in Norcal and rarely come here? Now you're saying you day game at UCLA. Maybe I'm just confused...

Yes, I usually say that I'm 28 or 29

I pretend to be a grad student. I say that I am retaking 1 class.

I carry a laptop bag or backpack with me. Because of this, the just assume that I am a student.

I dress to fit in with the grad students. Sort of business casual.

The bag is what makes it all come together.

Without the bag, they do get a little curious.

The bag puts their mind at ease.

I use a wide variety of situational openers.

Some examples:

(09-01-2012 12:56 PM)Giovonny Wrote:  "Choke points" on college campuses. College campuses are great places to pick up, there are young girls everywhere, thousands of them. However, on each campus, some locations are more ideal then others. Areas where alot of girls gather, men and women mingle together in close proximity, making it easier to open a conversation.

I usually just walk around and open girls where ever I see them but identifying these "choke points" is helpful. They allow to work less for more opportunities. They create an environment that makes the approach easier - you are doing something in common with the girl, that is big, when you are doing something in common with your target, it really makes the approach easier.

Other examples of this that I have used are...

Waiting in line at a food place. I usually say - "Is this place good? What do you usually get? Or, - "This is my first time eating here, what's good?"

Eating at the same place. I usually say - "Ooh, that looks good. What's that? Or, - "Looks good, I'm getting one of those" Or, "Excuse me, what is that?"

The bus stop or train stop. I usually say..."Will this line take me downtown?" Or, - "How long until the next train comes?"

The study abroad office. I love this place because everyone is their to get information about traveling and living over seas. They have little brochures on like 100 countries. Everyone is looking at the brochures. I usually say - "What country are you intersted in?" Or, - "Wow, Japan, have you been there?". I like this place because I can quickly get into stories of my travels.

The microwaves in the cafeteria. Many people use these to heat their food. It's similiar to the copy machines that the op describes. I usually say - "That smells good" Or, - "That looks good". I always make fun of girls for being messy.

The registrars office. Everyone is paying bills, getting paperwork, getting id cards, there are lines everywhere. I usually say - "Where do i get my id card?" Or, - "Is this the line for payments?". Anything to get the chat started.

The campus gym. I usually say - "How was your workout?" Or - "Is that exercise good for abs?"

Again, one of the big keys here is that you are doing the same thing as the girl, you are not just walking past her and stopping to talk to her. You are in the same place at the same time doing the same thing, that commonality and shared experience is what you will build off of. You have something in common, even if its just for a minute.

More examples from various campuses:

me: nice pants, those are hot
girl: oh, thanks
me: those make me wanna have a drink and go dancing or something
girl: haha
me: you must not be from around here?
girl: I'm from LA
me: I could tell, girls around here don't know how to dress
her: I noticed that
me: how long you been up here?
her: blah,blah, blah
me: U smoke? (weed)
her: sometimes
me: blah, blah, blah

(09-24-2011 02:51 PM)Giovonny Wrote:  Walking down the street, see a girl with a cool bag..

Me: Cool bag, is that from Peru?
Her: Hah, it looks like that doesn't it? But I got it in Alabama
Me: What? Alabama?! I was thinking more like South America or something

(02-23-2012 05:01 PM)Giovonny Wrote:  I saw a cutie sitting by herself at the bus stop looking in her mirror and playing with her eyebrows. I walk up, sit down next to her and open immediately...

me: is this the bus stop or the beauty shop?
her: ha both
me: you got a date or something?
her: no just checking my lashes
me: i think they look ok
her: thanks
me: what are you doing right now? going home?
her: ya
me: wanna take me home and use me as your teddy bear?

RE: The Los Angeles thread
Well, I pushed the boundaries a little at work tonight. I went up to the rooftop where our restaurant's located and our events manager told me, "You should check out the brunette next to the pool. Totally hot."

I go over, take a look, yeah she's pretty smokin. With a friend. Both snacking and having drinks. I went over and said hi, asked where they were visiting from, turns out the hottie works at a restaurant where I used to hang out a lot and got a few notches from. We hit it off. Immediately the friend starts getting competitive in conversation so I keep it cool and play somewhat of a passive role, let the friend run her mouth off. She's got a British accent and says she was born in D.C. I'm not sure how that's even possible but she's a cunt of the highest order.

Meanwhile I get the hottie laughing, turns out she's from Austin and she's totally cool, we get a good rapport going. She's super flirty and receptive. We start talking about food and Thai food, so I tell her I'm gonna take her to the spiciest Thai in the city. Get her number, make a face at her friend and bounce. Sent them a free dessert.

Now let's see if she flakes...girl is a solid 8.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

Keep pushing the boundaries, carefully.

Gio, well said. Can't really argue with that logic. Daygame will be my final frontier. However UCLA is mostly Asians, I think anyways.

It's going to be so hard for me to go back from EE though. Last night I met an 18yo and she asked how old I was, I was a bit drunk and reverted to LA mode and said 29. She lit up, said "Ohhhh! I love older men!" This happened last week again with another 18yo I was on a date with. She thought I was 22 when I told her I was 32 she got a lot more touchy after that. God bless this country.

As to LA I think MikeCF hit it on the head. It's a great city in some respects, and for some people (not me), but it's just hard for girls. I can never hate on someone for liking LA for its weather, food, activities, beaches, etc. I think I'm just more of a city guy.

I hear what you guys are saying with regard to network. What I gather from this is that the hotter babes are not going to get with you unless they see you as someone that can increase their perceived social standing.

Coming into town as an outsider with no network to speak of, how would you play it?
