I just texted slubu about the trifecta (3-spot date walking package) in Beverly Hills- Gyu-kaku for happy hour, SLS/bazaar for drinks/light food, and Phoenix for some rowdy bar experience. Guaranteed good date night. If solo, Pull by SLS/bazaar at 2am for late-night swoops. Tons of tourist girls milling about- pitch them on "afterhours" and more partying.

LA Fashion District- Menswear Data Sheet.

This is located in Downtown LA. 7th-9th street on Los Angeles street.

Good spot to pick up some suits, silk pocket squares, ties etc. A good wool suit should run no more than 400 (tailoring included). I've been coming here since my teens, but there are 3-4 higher quality stores for suits.

1) Morovato Uomo/b]- Big store w/a large upstairs 2nd floor. Has one of the largest and best selections of suits. Address 816 Los Angeles St, LA, CA. 100% wool atheltic cut (super 150s I believe) suit- 390 dollars

2) As you exit Morovato, turn left down the street. A couple stores down is a medium sized showroom [b]Giorgio Rossi. Had some decent 3-piece suits. Price-420 dollars. This can be bargained down a bit. 400 including tailoring+ free tie or something like that.

3) Tutto Italy Connection- across the street from Morovato Uomi. A lower class tore than the 2 above, but I picked up a fantastic charcoal gray (wool cashmere super 150) slim cut. I paid 410- tailored, free silk tie, 2 silk pocket squares, and 1 pair of socks. They had 2-3 good suits, the rest were garbage. I saw a fantastic navy square inside of a square pattern (silk-wool) that was fabolously soft.

4) Royal Mode- Used to be my favorite store, but since has gone downhill a lot. I use to pick up Canali slacks here for 120-140 dollars each. Stepped in here, but was dissapointed at selection. Do a quick-browse through

5) Paolo Cernolli- Big selection, over-priced for what they are selling. Step in and take a look, but be wary.

Some thoughts- This is what I call Italian made in China. Fabric and design is italian, but it likely is made in China. TBH, most companies source cheap labor so I doubt its a big deal.

1) When you walk into the stores, ask to show you their "nice wool suits". This will eliminate 85% of the store

2) Do multiple fittings at different stores. Find ones you like, and ask them the price. Ask them to "hold it for 1 hr while you take a look around". This will likely give you more ammo to bargain

3) Try to buy a suit that needs minimal tailoring. Maybe a little bit around the waist, sleeves. That it. Don't listen to the salespeople about taking in the waist a lot around the waist. The suit will look funky.

4) Bring cash for bigger discount (no tax) and some freebies.

In recap, for a joust around the town or work functions, this would be an ideal suit. It looks and feels nice enough that 99% will not know the difference, and at a price-point where you won't kill somebody if they flick ash on you or spill a drink.

That is pretty good recommendation. Ya SLS seems to get a ton of tourists (duh it is hotel samsamsam).

Last night was a bit much, first time I ever had to leave my car and get it the next morning. 30 minute walk from my place but only 7 bucks for parking overnight! I parked after 6PM. If you go on Crescent (I think - the street with Whole Foods Parking) - there is a garage that is only 2 bucks after 6pm.

If you want reasonably priced sushi that's still legit you might want to check out Noshi Sushi on Beverly and I believe it's Hobart. It's in ktown but it's run by Japanese owners.

Cash only, no crazy rolls, can get out for less than 40 if you take it easy, never been more than 100 even though I rampaged on uni and Chu toro. Won't get the highest grade stuff but cost to quality ratio is very favorable to the customer.

Forgot to add. Gyu kaku has the best happy hour in La. Friday/Saturday 10.30PM till midnight. 2pm-6.30pm everyday. Only problem, its a shitshow to get seats. Post up at the bar. For dates, get cold unfiltered sake (Nigori)- tastes like millky cantaloupe. Tried and true girl favorite.

SLS- for the date, order the cotton candy martini (not sure if this is the real name, but the bartender will know what you are talking about). Its a cool show. Liquid nitrogen to chill the martini glass, drop a spinning cotton candy inside liquor which melts and provides the sweetness. Very cool.

I like vodka. I ordered a vodka soda lime w/crushed mint. Very good.

Me and a friend were thinking about staying at the Hostel..the one on 2nd between Broadway and SM Blvd...just to get access to the traveling europeans/australians there. I only live a few miles from there and can take a bus (or hell even bike there) but the room rates are like $20 a night, so thinking of going there and doing the pub crawl or what not. I've met decent girls staying in that hostel along the way, just thinking of some "out of the box ideas". We'll probably try a test run in a few weeks, we'll see how it goes. He snuck in a few weeks ago and said there were decent chicks staying in the hostel.

I was in Santa Monica/Venice yesterday. Some thoughts- 1) Other room- older crowd 2) 3110- I came when it was closing, but i saw a gaggle of hot girls walk out 3) The dance bar across the street from Circle bar (next to Finn Mcools).

I would go to 3110 first then maybe that dance bar next to Finn Mccools. The dance bar is grimy, but the girls are young and hot.

That or line up really early for Bungalow.

Edit- for the hostel, why dont you say your visiting from san diego or something.

Santa Monica? Summertime is here, so the crowds should improve. I notice that hostel, with the same ideas in mind, and I think it gets better in the summer. The people coming in an out of that place look pretty run through in the off season.

Viceroy is hit or miss now. I've walked through 8-10 times on various weekend nights and times to see an older crowd. They might pick up during the summer because that back patio by the pool is a great place to hang out. Just wish the crowd was younger.

Makai is still consistently good. I did a drive-by Saturday night at 11am, and the line looked like a good crowd of girls in skirts and high heels.

I've pulled from Bungalow 2x in the past 3 months. Both times I was 5 drinks in, dressed super-sharp, and VERY DIRECT. There is a lot of competition there, so no hesitation is allowed. Every other time I've gone without being aggressive, I've gotten absolutely nowhere. That line is ridiculous, so go early or late.

I try to go to the Whole Foods there for dinner as often as possible. My "So what's for dinner tonight?" line worked a couple of times for numbers. A lot of cuties work out and then hit up the whole foods.

The W Hollywood on Sunday nights has been a great scene for me over the past year. I don't know why I don't go more often. Last Sunday was productive for me once again. Has anyone else gone? It doesn't show up on search.

Sunday's are jazz night in the lobby, no cover, no line. The play for me is to get there at 10pm, grab a drink at the bar, and post up. It's a large space. Girls are dressed up in skirts and heels. There's entertaining jazz music, and everyone is very approachable. I usually get my work done, and then split at 11:30 so I can still be functional at work and in the gym the next day.

It's a great place to wear a suit.

I was at Gladstones yesterday (near the Palisades on the PCH) for some sbe dj party. I'm planning to hit up more of the afternoon party scene here this summer. There were top quality girls everywhere. Great weather, music, scene on the beach. Couldn't ask for a better day.

W Hollywood on Sundays is great. I went for a great gatsby night.

Rock a dope suit and loud pocket square. Bring cigarettes and jays. I've parlayed 2 cigarettes into glasses of champagne, and Js into more drinks+interesting chats w/cool dudes and hot girls.

The ratios get worse towards the end of the night.

Shit, as soon as classes start at 8am, I know the cuties start arriving. I usually wait til after 10am to start gaming but you never know who you will meet in the 9am coffee line.

I would go to UCLA for lunch or for a workout or to use the library, or on my off day from work.

The dorms are locked? Well, of course the actual buildings themselves are locked but I can literally walk right up the outside of the building right? I can literally park my car and walk right up the the dorm cafeteria or dorm workout center right? I doubt this entire area is walled off and locked up like a prison?

I don't have to actually go inside the dorm to game girls who live in the dorms. They are walking in and out of the building all day long. Back and forth from class, back and forth to eat, back and forth from their friends dorms.

I'm sure they must have an outside smoking area where students hang out.

I have gamed in dorm areas at 10am and 10pm, there are always girls around. At night, they will be in little groups looking for something to do. Remember that a lot of these girls in the dorms are away from home for the first time, they are not yet 21, the are new to the the big city, they want to have fun. They would love for an older guy with a car to come pick them up and show them LA.

Gotta get'um before they get scooped up by the campus alphas and/or find a social scene to hang out in:

aren't there a bunch of student apartments across the street from the Whole Foods? There's some kind of university housing complex right there. like around the corner from the coffee bean right there? in my experience though, its not really college kids in there (whole foods)...there are some, but more office workers in the neighborhood.

This is exactly right. There is a new(er) graduate housing complex around the corner from WF and Coffee bean, but you don't really see that many younger students in there. Rather, older MILF types in that WF on Gayley.

I would work the trader joes or ralphs over the WF. But I am not big on day-game. Admittedly, I am pretty terrible at it.

I like 4pm-8pm because lots of intramural activities, the vibe is a bit livelier, and has a night-feel to it. 8am-3pm is busy busy busy school vibe.

Also, a few of my UCLA friends did very well w/the food-stands. Always easy to chat up girls in line- Gushi, the pizza spot, philly cheesteak spot, etc etc.

The new City Target in Westwood is probably a gold-mind when the new school year starts. I've only been a few times but they have that "food court" on campus with Taco Bell, etc...lots of students just hanging out there the entire day some studying, some eating, some socializing, lots of tables, high traffic area.

Agree with this, especially Ralphs. Later in the evening/night, it becomes like almost 80% students in there (or so it seems). It's so easy to stumble into conversations there. Years ago, when I went to buy alcohol there, I have even invited students right over to the house party or pre-game spot I was picking up the alcohol for.

Of course also don't sleep on the starbucks right there in Westwood village. Usually the staff and 50+% of clientele are students, either at UCLA or elsewhere. They have a seating arrangement there which is very conducive to random conversations. Basically, on the upper split-level, there are these huge collective tables. Oftentimes, you're sitting right next to strangers, forcibly and it's almost hard not to at least say hello or something, when you're sitting down.

What about westwood happy hours/college night? Back in the day I used to go to Madisons and the other place that started with an "M" (Malone's?) on Thursdays and they would be packed. I know Cabo Cantina is close by there and has cheap drinks as well...just wondering the latest and greatest.
