I know alot of guys with advanced degress who are dorks around women. I know some guys with fancy job titles and they hate their jobs. I know guys making +100k, wife, 2.5 kids, nice house with a white picket fence and they hate their life!

We can smart in one area but dumb in another.

Smart is being happy with your life.

Dumb is being miserable.

This is plainly the dumbest response to this thread. And that's saying something. Most people who ragged on the OP had no argument, but just attacked him for being arrogant.

The OP made an excellent point. I also find it very difficult to connect with dumb people, unless they have a sense of humor.

It mostly comes down to being able to shoot the shit endlessly with them. Having a really good sense of humor not only allows you to connect with the less intelligent, but also with the intelligent. Intelligent people still need to have a good time around you to feel a true connection. Just having intellectual conversations with other nerds is going to get dry after a while.

And this is where "social intelligence" comes into play.
