Rucked 20 miles with 65 pounds. Probably my hardest training session in the last year. I've been trying to hit 20 miles forever but constant setbacks kept me from it. Now I'm going to go demolish an entire turkey.

Shout-outs to Samseau, Dr. Howard, Zelcorpion and scorpion for their insightful comments about the Holy Scriptures which made me realize that I have no right to call myself a pathfinder upon God’s Way until I genuinely study the sacred texts which show the course I profess myself taking.

Honestly though I had a really tough time reading the Bible because it’s not the easiest of texts to read after study filled day.

But I was adamant not to give up.

I’ve come across Audible from Amazon and have fallen in love with it since it offers quality Audiobooks for modest prices with its Credit system.

Since the time I’ve made a subscription I’ve listened to the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin and have listened through whole Old Testament and am currently at the Gospel of Luke.

I don’t know what it is and will not claim to be a born again Christian but ever since I started listening to the Bible I’ve become a whole lot calmer.

He who says that the Bible offers nothing for a man is simply ignorant. I’ve hit the rewind button many times just to hear certain verses again, again and again in order to memorize them by heart for they contain so much worldly wisdom it is almost impossible to think that Men eons ago were so much wiser than the so called ‘Intellectual elite’ within their Ivory Tower of today.

Here are some of my favorite passages:

If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:7

Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23

Interesting note how many of them deal with mindset concepts that Mike Cernovich talks about.

I really recommend Audible for anyone who likes to read a lot of books but is pressing for time.

From July to the end of November with a pause in August it took me 4 months to listen to the Bible.

From start to finish.

From Genesis to Revelations.

72 hour long audiobook which in reality I probably listened to over 80 hours as I've re-listened a lot of parts.

Especially the Proverbs, Gospels and other parts of the New Testament (Ephesians and Romans).

There's a lot of wisdom contained within these passages and Men would do themselves a great favor to lend them their eyes and/or ears.

I've become a lot calmer as a person.

Christianity combined with stoicism is a potent mixture which has served me very well, as it allowed me to accept those things which I did not nor would be able to influence.

Every day I wake up with gratefulness to be given another day; to want the best, to visualize my best, to pray for the best and do the best of my abilities and letting go of things I cannot change.

Or so I’ve thought.

Funny - the less I've tried to change certain things or people from a point in time the more they've changed themselves in ways I've wanted.

Just killed a snake. I was quite surprised to see it, since I was whizzing away with a brushcutter and smashing into foliage with a fernhook for half an hour just yards away when I rounded the corner and there it was, just coiled up and sleeping in an open patch. WTF it was thinking I'll never know.
Funny thing about snakes, the second you let them out of your sight they disappear, so I got the boy to keep an eye on him at a safe distance while I got a gun. Not keen to lose the bastard in the brush, I was a little hasty and ignored a gun safety rule that could have ended my travels through this life pretty quickly, but thankfully Murphy wasn't paying attention.

Loaded a mag and put the red dot on him. First shot went high so I corrected. The second turned a good portion of it inside out. I gave it 8 more because bullets are cheap and I'd already used up my good grace for the day.

Brought both boys outside to learn about snakes, which is a lot safer while it's just nerves making it twitch. Speaking of which, I fully understand why people used to think snakes were satanic creatures. The way they move naturally even after you take the head off is just creepy. Headless, they even respond to touch, hence the old warning "a snake's not dead 'til sunrise".

Also took the opportunity to make sure the dog knew in no uncertain terms that snakes are not to be fucked with.

Tiger snake. That's the bastards second cousin I suspect. Hopefully I don't get doxxed, since outrageously these common critters are "endangered" and you're not allowed to kill them unless you have "no other choice".

Holy fuck that thing look hideous. I thought rattlesnakes and cotton mouths looked ugly, rat snakes close behind but you guys are on another level.

Then I read that 8/10 live in Oz as the most deadly spiders as well...praise sweet baby cheesus. Y'all earned my respekt.

You have to apply for permission to own any particular gun and provide a reason as such.

So you could own a .22lr rifle for rabbit hunting, another type of .22lr for target shooting, a .22lr pistol for silhouette shooting and another .22lr for putting down sick/injured animals. However the cops would get stingy if you asked for five different caliber guns just to hunt rabbits.

The reality is that they're pretty lax about giving out permissions, at least in my state. The major annoyance comes with not being able to own semi-automatic firearms excepting pistols unless you're a farmer or similar.

We're fortunate in my state that the venom of the deadly snakes here operates through the lymphatic system, so if you don't move after you get bitten then you theoretically have a long time to get help. It helps to know that, because some people get bitten and then run for help, not realising they're making it worse. The native aboriginals here when bitten by these snakes would simply go and lie under the shade of a tree for three days straight. By then the venom had denatured and they could go about their business.

Other snakes like your american rattler for example might have a less toxic venom but it attacks through the blood stream, so from the second you're bitten you're on a count-down to death, your heart becoming your own worst enemy.

As for spiders, fuck them. We have no really seriously dangerous spiders where I am, and that's just fine by me.

First snowfall of the season in Chicago. I made a pot of butternut squash soup. Dinner consisted of two bowls of soup some french bread and an IPA.

I pulled my shotgun out of the closet and cleaned it. I haven't fired it in a while but it felt good in my hands.

Over four years after being diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer (ocular melanoma) and I'm still breathing (and Tweeting)

My eye was removed just about two years ago.

I'm still laughing and enjoying life because men don't let little shit interfere.

Oh, and it helps that I don't fear death, just the few months leading up to it.

Not really. With a couple of pry bars and a bit of effort they usually just just rip the gunsafe off the wall and carry the whole lot away at once. Most men have the very tools they required to do just that in the garden shed. I would prefer to hide mine but the government says no.

Yesterday I tore apart several pallets to get wood to build a table. Now I'm working on framing it out. The biggest pain is removing the wood while trying not to split it. I recommend the Deck Demon for anyone looking to do pallet projects. If you use it right, you can save time, your back, and save a lot of lumber that would otherwise split when using a hammer and nail remover.
