This something I've noticed increasingly as a late 20s guy when I approach younger girls at college dive bars.

I'll open a girl at a bar or club. She'll stay engaged in conversation, but she won't ask me any questions to try to get to know me. I feel as if I stopped talking, the conversation would come to a complete standstill. In other words, there's no effort or investment on her end.

Back in my undergrad days - prior to social networking and smartphones - college girls would at least make an effort. Not so much today. Is this the product of a narcissistic ADD attention-whoring validation-seeking Facebook generation, where it's always about ME?

Every college girl today has grown up with Facebook and smartphones since high school, and the constant attention and validation must have some impact on their psyche. This wasn't true in 2004.

I'm seeing this tendency when I go out on dates with 18-22 year old girls as well - no real effort or engagement or personal questions from their end.

Are other guys here noticing the same thing?

An old buddy an I had a term for girls like this: deadbeats. They keep talking to you, but they have no interest in holding up their part of the conversation.

I hate when I have to be the entertainer on dates and it's not a joint venture. Trying to break myself of feeling the need to do this.

In a bar scene, just meeting a girl, if they aren't asking questions it is probably a sign that they aren't worth any more time or aren't interested. Try to ignore them more and play it cool without turning it into an interrogation.

I agree with this.

Young ones are also losing the ability to maintain eye contact. They are talking but stare at some inanimate object off to the side. The past month I talked to a few Anglo girls who did this.

Anglo culture is going through collective autism, it seems.

Yes, this shit tests are getting stronger.

She's going to do everything in her power to belittle you. Ignoring someone can be very effective to minimize their status and test their metal.

Take a page out of Day Bang and work on getting better at being more sly or indirect.

You have to bait them out of this shit. Line-up your dialogue so that everything is focused on getting them to ask you a personal question.

Don't ask her any questions until she's asked you two.

Get good at making statements that will elicit questions.

Absolutely agree with this. They never make eye contact either. I almost told an early 20s girl last night "you should look at someone when they speak to you."

Eye contact is key to seduction, but a lot of young American girls won't look you in the eye.

I'm not saying that I've tested this out in a lot of cases, but this may be a good tool to weed out the chicks that are dead fish in the sack. If they can't look you in the eye for more than a quarter second I doubt they will be good in bed. I try to drop these ones before too much time is invested.

Yeah, this may be a good metric ( really unable to make eye contact) . Anything you can detect to disqualify them without giving her a handle to brush you off " I have a boyfriend" etc is great. Less discouraging patronizing explanations to tolerate. You just ditch and she may/may not know why but who cares.

I knew one hot girl who said if a guy was good looking she "couldn't help" looking at him.

If you like a girl, looking in their eyes while you blast in her is the best-- if she likes and appreciates what she's getting.

Yes, the conversation collapses if you don't keep up the largely one-side, talk-show-host style discussion. I've straight-up told girls this. "I'm going to shut up now and let you carry this conversation for bit. I'm thirsty and want to enjoy this drink." It's fun. Try it out.

You can tell a lot about a girl just by looking at her cell phone. The newer, higher quality the phone is the worse the girl will be. If you can find a girl with a phone that looks like this, you can pretty much bet she's worth a little more game. (Unless, that is, she's a raging hipster and doing it "ironically.")

I had that phone from 2003-2008. It was affectionately known as "The Brick." Did everything you could need on a phone. The screen got sunburned from leaving it face up poolside. Not sure if it was that exact model Nokia but it was the one that was really in vogue for a few years. This was when I thought Nokia was a Japanese company.

The only upgrade I've gotten since that is a phone with a QWERTY key-pad.

I think there are 2 types of socially retarded girls. The first being the ones that don't ask questions or make eye contact. The second group is the extreme opposite. They can't shut up or talk about anything bit themselves. They are over sharers and will tell you everything from dudes they're fucking to judging you. Basically they'll say anything that's on their mind and wonder why no one wants to be their friend.

I really don't get the shy ones. I've been banging this girl for a month and she's just starting to make eye contact.
