In the days ahead I'm sure it will come out that this guy was socially awkward, probably a virgin, who was spurned by women.

A lot of people are going to go off on gun laws, but demographics (more men than women in 20-40 age range) and alpha male seeking (hypergamy) by women should be studied as causing frustration that leads to violence in American men.

It doesn't help that women punish men when they try to improve their sexual lot...

If you push an animal into a corner and make him seem like he doesn't have any socially acceptable options for companionship, you'll get these outbursts. Mass shootings from lone gunman seem to exist almost entirely in Western countries.

I think a lot of us have channeled our frustration to opportunity with the study of game or travel, but the average guy on the street isn't going to take that road (he may not even know they exist). He'll just stew until he blows up.

Probably, but their are exceptions. Columbine shooter Eric Harris was neither of the above (unlike his partner who ticked all three boxes), he outpulled the schools football team. He did hate the girls who rejected him with a passion though, perhaps due to the extent of his narcissism. Even though I don't see it personally in photos of him girls at his school said that he was a good looking, charming and smooth guy while psychologists almost unanimously say he was a textbook narcissist and psycopath, can't help but wonder if that actually improved his game...

While I agree with you guys that western women and society kind of outcasts these guys as losers and awkward because they don't fit in the mold, I don't think that's a valid enough reason to lash out at people. Hell, I use to be a socially awkward teenager, but for entirely different reasons...my parents split up and remarried so many times I was moving all over the country with no stable friends. I went through some rough times but it made me stronger. I distinctly remember wanting to kill myself/others on numerous occasions just to stop being ignored for a change. But I'd let so many people down, including the kats from the neighborhood I come from, who look at this type of shit as a cowards way out.

In the black community, we secretly kinda laugh at these kinds of guys. Well maybe not secretly. I mean, in North Philly alone you have extreme poverty, violence, drugs, fighting... everything. But you never hear about mass shootings from teenagers, at least not because the teenager got his feelings hurt by his peers or from a bitch. You just man up, suck it the fuck up and become a stronger person. After all there's no better reward. And actually, this shit (bullying, isolated teens, depression) didn't really become an issue until it started happening to white suburbon youth. That shit has been going on in the ghetto for years. Not to say there aren't violent outbursts and flash mobs/robs in the ghetto too, but it seems to be for an entirely different reason (getting money).

I don't mean to come off as insensitive and all that, but nowadays you've gotta be a stronger person, have a vision to get yourself out of your rutt, and execute. There's no excuse, especially when you have people with no arms/legs and what not still enjoying their life. I'm sorry but there's no excuse for that. American suburbon teens are just not hard at all. Not "hard" as in a fucking tough guy douchebag, but hard as in man-ing up the way people use to in the states, and the way they still are in Europe. Da fuck you mean you wanna go kill some people at school because they tease you everyday!!?? Be a fucking man and be better than them. I mean I can't even get into fucking clubs in Germany, for whatever reason (thread on that coming soon). If you're life is so fucked up and depressing that you feel like you're on absolute rock bottom I think it's actually a kind of form of liberation. Shit can not get any worse for you, so pack up your shit, sell it, move somewhere new and just try to *be better*.

If you have so thoroughly sucked at life until that point with a fresh start somewhere new it'd be hard to not improve your situation even a little bit.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. This could also be an instance of an unstable individual who just decided to go off. In a county of 300 million people, that is not so unlikely. We always seek explanations for everything, and sometimes we wish those explanations to conform to our beliefs (confirmation bias), but it is not always the case. I guess we'll see. The guy in Norway was certainly motivated by what Roosh wrote about.

The best way to minimize sexually induced violence is probably by having a society of prudes - men and women marry young and form stable marriages. Little hypergamy, fewer men going without a woman, and fewer men getting jealous when their old squeeze is getting hit up by a new man. At the same time that the sexual market has become a 'player-take all' market, pornography has become ever more common, perhaps serving as a sexual release valve, without which there'd be more violence.

This is India and much of the middle east, but sexual violence is still pretty common there. More-so than here in fact.

The thing consistent in all these assholes is they go to places where they know large groups of people will be unarmed and unable to fight back. They will be the only guy with a gun in the entire place.

Columbine? They wanted to commit suicide, and decided it'd be fun to kill a lot of people before they did. School campus. Unarmed kids.

One L. Goh in Oakland did a Richard Spec. Goes to a gun free campus. Corners a bunch of unarmed female students and shoots them at his leisure. Then drives off to brag to his check-out clerk friends about his one moment of power.

This new guy, James Holmes, knows enough about the film to know the main villan wears a gas mask. Goes to a theater full of people armed with both guns AND gas bombs to shoot unarmed innocent people out for a night of fun, many of whom are dressed like other characters from Batman. Total overkill.

His mother's in California. He's driving a car with Tennessee plates. Guy's a real drifter, probably following internet friends. And he's in a state where wildfires have been raging for weeks and there's been a heatwave that's been making everyone crazy.
