Mine is money, of course. I currently have no income, which is obviously a problem, even in Bangkok.

I have a new venture in the works to launch on Kickstarter, but will take a bit of time before the samples are ready. Let's hope I don't go broke before that.

I hear you dude. I'm running real low on funds after having not worked for 6 months and spending 3 of them traveling. I keep getting interview after interview. I had 4 last week, and 3 the week before that. I kept running into the problem of not having my license because it got taken away a while ago, but I just found out I can get it back this week, unfortunately after I already told a bunch of employers I couldn't get it for a couple months. Pretty much all of them wanted to hire me, as I have a nice resume and I pretty much crushed all the interview (Also knowing Spanish and Portuguese out here seems to be a huge plus as nobody desirable to hire knows it). I think I finally have a bite on something good though. The other jobs who have wanted me that don't require a license, I haven't been interested in. I have another interview for a job I'm also not very interested in tomorrow. I'll take it for now until I find something better. But I'm also going to call the one I want that I think I have a good prospective for to see what's up tomorrow. Basically, the job I really wanted, they told me they couldn't hire me for the position I applied for without a license, but they wanted to hire me. The guy set me up with a manager in another department on the spot. That guy liked me, set me up with a second interview later that week. That guy informed me that they had filled all the positions, but actually wanted to create a position for me, may only be part time now, but would work me into full time as soon as possible. I called the guy back a couple days later when I found out I could get my license and he told me he would either call me back if he could fit me in for something until then, or for me to call him back once I got my license. It seemed pretty promising if the guy was actually willing to basically create a position for me and bring me into an interview knowing he didn't really have positions. I'm gonna call him tomorrow just to let him know I've started to get the ball rolling and should have the license by Wed. or Thurs. I'm gonna basically say, "Look, I have a couple places interested in hiring me, and I need the money, but I prefer to work with you guys. How am I looking?"

Good luck on your kick starter bro! I hope both of us can get some cash money flowing here soon. I know I could use it, sounds like you could to.

Hehe been there, done that...(broke in Bangkok). Am home and still broke!

You mentioned bar work when you were back in the states. Could you do this in BKK?

I know in Levels nightclub (new place on Soi 11) they have multinational staff, there's a white bar manager, several American bouncers, even some black staff (surprising, given Thai attitudes, so Im thinking it migh be farang-owned ).

I always thought something like that would be pretty fun. I'm sure you could get numbers on the side too. I've heard that foreigners are very limited in where they can work, but I've seen farang bar staff at Levels and also at Glow, which are high-profile BKK clubs so it must be legit. Maybe because they're farang businesses? I know the owner of Glow is Belgian; he's at the bar hammering the beers every night, lol.

I am not sure there is much to elaborate. We (family and I) have a decent business running. Somebody got jealous and tipped local criminals, now we are trying to sort it out. It's not that interesting. They think I run the company (I don't), and I'm doing paperwork for a new work visa for Europe, so getting out of this dump is the best way.

Currently focusing on shifting my income to activities I'm passionate about and great at. Right now I have a part-time job and do some freelance location-independent work, but working towards more freelance work and building an internet business for long-term location independence.

Heading to Thailand for a month in summer, my first holiday in 2 years since I was last there for a month so hope to use it to remind myself what I'm working for in the first place.

#1 is my health.

I have been smoking cigarettes for a year and a half, and now is the time to quit. I love smoking, but it hurts my lungs and it is expensive.

In addition to this, I am going to finally finish losing weight. Over the past year and a half I have gone from 235 to 185. I still need to drop about 20 lbs before I can finally start packing on some muscle. I already have my diet together (chicken, pork tenderloin, brown rice, veggies), it's just a matter of getting myself to the gym on a consistent basis.

Generally, i have 2 concerns in life: making money and getting laid.

Here is my situation right now.

Making money: I make 6 figures in NY. Just above the poverty level.

Getting laid: I have an on-again-off-again GF, but I can't get laid with anybody else.

There are no pressing problems or concerns, but I'm concerned I'm not going anywhere.

I'm a sham of a bartender. I work in a super dive bar back home. This means I only make Kessler and Coke's for drunk old dudes, and Sex on the Beach for drunk old slags. I don't know how to make much fancy shit. I wouldn't be able to hang making Pina Coladas, Birthday Cakes, and other gay shit that people drink in these wannabe fancy clubs.
