Every girl loves ice cream, Swensens is considered quite expensive for a lot of Thais (it's not really that expensive) and they see it as a nice treat. Oh and the ice cream sundays are amazing. I'd never been to Swensens in my life until Saturday.

Haha, thats quite good. Only problem would be the massive sugar intake from 2-3 dates a week there. Funny how some things are highly valued by thais that we'd just see as normal junk. Wine, icecream, etc. I was sitting in Hagen Daaz on my own reading once, and getting eye fucked by every girl walking by. I think Hagen Daaz is a sign of class here, lol (actually come to think about it, there's always a queue *outside of the restaurant* for the one in London, and it's always asian tourists...)

BTW if anyone wants an *amazing* Korean BBQ buffet... Dawon restaurant just up the left side of Thong Lor road from the BTS. 300 baht for like 5-6 plates of pork and chicken that you BBQ yourself at your table, and like 10 korean side dishes. Best meal I've had here, trumps all the thai food and food courts. And a pretty cheap date, also thai girls cant eat much so you can gorge on meat if you want.

RE: Heading to Bangkok tomorrow
Well I had quite the awkward date last night. Thankfully I had already hooked up with the chick before but basically out of nowhere I started feeling light headed anxious, sweaty, and hot. We get back to my place and start hooking up and she says I feel hot. Sure enough she takes me to 7/11 and we buy a thermometer and I have a 102.5 fever. By this time I got considerably more weak, light headed and very out of it. At first I thought I was fucked and my last week I was going to spend trying to fight off the flu or some shit. But after waking up today and feeling better (no fever/headache/fatigue) I realized that yesterday was the first day in the 40 days I have been here that I did not drink any alcohol and I am likely and hopefully going through alcohol withdrawal (I have had it in college before too but never THIS bad). Time for me to go get some valium and not drink for a few days so my body can complete the withdrawal. I knew the constant partying and drinking would catch up to me eventually.

Yeah sounds like you've been hitting it very hard. Yesterday I didn't drink at all and that's probably only happened 2 or 3 times in the 5 months I've been out here. Was just too hungover even after 20mg of valium (usually 10mg valium cures the worst of the worst hangovers for me) to do anything. I was like you, a sweating, anxious, paranoid mess and felt like I was gonna spew up all day. I miss the days when my hangovers were just feeling a bit tired and were cured by a shower, brushing my teeth, eating and having some water. Now unless I have valium I can't function. I should stop drinking really.

I got hit by a bug last week, flu like symptoms that would come and go over the space of a few days. Lots of people I know were sick around that time too so there's probably a bug going round, it could be that.

Korean restaurants are another GREAT date spot for Thai girls. They love Korean food & Korean guys are all obsessed with K-pop and romantic Korean movies. I've been to two places. A new one at Siam called Dak Galbi which was really nice. We opted for a chicken dish to be shared between 2, it's all cooked at your table and comes with loads of veggies and rice in a tasty sauce, side dishes and soup are free. It wasn't overly fancy and quite reasonable prices but apparently is considered to be the new cool place to go and we ended up sat next to a Thai celebrity who's on some famous TV show, young guy with a massive afro. My date loved that (I also took another date to a blues bar in Banglumpoo last week and as it's a very small place we were sat at a table with this thai guy and girl, I got chatting to the guy just usual friendly chat, my date told me afterwards he was a famous singer who's popular right now and she was star struck, ha ha!).

Another decent Korean restaurant is in Banglumpoo at Soi Rambuttri called Jang Teo. Nothing amazing as the restaurant is fairly basic but my pork and korean chilli sauce dish with rice was tasty and again loads of small dishes free, i've no idea what most of it was. Date liked it.

Quote:I was half serious, but their daily hygiene routine does go out the window for a lot of them. Don't brush their hair much, no/little makeup, shorts and a tank tops all day, don't shave their legs often. Hostel chicks are gnarly.

Yeah I agree. Back home most of them won't leave the house unless they're all dressed up, hair done and make up on but somehow out here they think it's acceptable to go out to a club in flip flops and vest tops that they've been wearing all day. They have no excuse out here though as there's not that many hostels, most people stay in guesthouses (which are often cheaper or same priced as hostel dorms strangely) so they have privacy to wax, shave, look after their appearance if they wanted to. Thank god Thai girls, even the ones who hang around kowsan, haven't started to think that's a good way to dress.

RE: Heading to Bangkok tomorrow
Well guys,

I have finally come upon the 1 week mark for my departure back to the states. As of now I have been having a blast in bkk and been pretty successful. I have probably fucked 15-20 different girls in my 38 days here (I will maybe do a data sheet when back in the states and actually spend time counting them).

With that said though, I feel kind of weird having gone to thailand for almost two months and never actually leaving bkk or even sight seeing for that matter (I originally planned on visiting almost everywhere haha). Is there anywhere in thailand worth visiting? I am having fun in bkk and have good dates lined up this week so I am debating on whether I should just stay here or visit a beach location namely Samui/phuket/pattaya. My biggest issue is I am traveling alone and I just do not really know how much fun I will have in those places and what my ability will be like to pull non-pros. It should be noted although hooking up with girls (along with partying) was one of my main reasons for coming here, now that I have hooked up with a decent number it is less important - i actually feel kinda sleezy and am anxiously awaiting my std test when I get home (unfortunately had 2 drunken unprotected sessions - because condoms truly are the worst.)

If you arent coming back to asia anytime soon you should do at least a couple of cool things I think. OTOH you could just write it off and spend that last week absolutely destroying it in BKK.

Chiang mai is cool, cultural, well worth a visit. Not partytown though.

Koh samui is good too. You will find some non-pros, they will be tourist industry girls with jobs in hotels, shops etc. Probably no students or girls with better jobs tho.

Hard to say if it's worth doing, on your own. If you arent coming back to asia atall anytime in the near future, maybe it would be cool to check out an island here.

RE: Heading to Bangkok tomorrow
I arrived home this afternoon. I was so drunk and full of valium that I don't actually remember most of the BKK to Dubai section of the flight or getting off the plane in Dubai for my transfer, I had 3 hours in the airport and all I have is a hazy memory of being sat in a bar drinking a beer and speaking to a guy from Lithuiania who had an Irish accent and worked there. No memory of passport control or getting on the next flight. Next thing I know I've woke up mid flight on route back to UK and it tooks me a couple of minutes to work out where I was and what part of the journey I was on. I then proceeded to drink lots of vodka and orange and pass out again until near the end of the flight. Surprised I managed to get home, with all my belongings and in one piece.

Up to 20 girls in 38 days is good work, you really have been going at it hard. I fucked around 20 new girls in 4 months though I got lazy at times in the trip and spent a month and a half travelling too. Also relied on my regular girls a bit too often, was less hassle than having to go meet new girls and do first dates etc. I think if had spent all my time in Bangkok instead of travelling, met every girl who wanted to (often I just couldn't be bothered and stayed in or hung out with a mate drinking beers), used the social networking and dating sites for the whole trip (only used it for my first week then again for last couple weeks, silly now in retrospect as it landed me some of my best girls) and didn't rely on easy lays from regular girls the number would be a lot higher but I'm still happy.

I wouldn't force yourself to go somewhere if you don't want to. I didn't enjoy the islands or Chiang Mai as much as I enjoyed BKK. It was such a hassle to get to the islands, long journey then horrendous boat trip where everyone was sea sick, even shit accomodation was expensive and the islands were overly busy. Some of them were nice to look at and I did some snorkelling which I enjoyed but apart from that wasn't too impressed, too many backpackers and everything seemed to be aimed at them. I had no interest in any of the various 'moon' parties that seemed to be going on everywhere or hanging out in bars with them drinking buckets. I actually missed Bangkok. CM was a bit boring for me, nightlife seemed tame mid week and options were limited unless you wanted to go to backpacker bars which I didn't. Lots of activities to do nearbye up there though such as trekking, elephant rides, visiting hill tribes, dky diving, off road biking, bungee jumping and loads more.

Quote:i actually feel kinda sleezy and am anxiously awaiting my std test when I get home (unfortunately had 2 drunken unprotected sessions - because condoms truly are the worst.)

Especially Thai condoms, they are too small and tight for me to wear. If I can get one one it doesn't go on far enough to stay on and often splits or falls off mid sex. Worried about STDS too, something just doesn't feel right down there but I could be being paranoid. I'm good at convincing myself of things, was convinced I had malaria at one point when all I had was a bug or virus.

RE: Heading to Bangkok tomorrow
Honestly I think this trip I am just going to stick to bangkok. Unfortunately the way it has all panned out for me it really does not make much sense to leave anymore. Right now I am having to coordinate a lot of work for my new job (background check, pre-employment forms) and I would rather not have to do that while traveling throughout the country. Also I need to go to the embassy tomorrow to get something notarized so probably would not be able to leave until saturday anyways and my flight is early tuesday.

Either way, I have had enough fun this trip I am hoping to come back again soon. I plan on leaving my job in new york after about a year to try and start a business or look for finance/capital markets jobs in se asia so I would be able to come back again then.

Although this is probably not the best place to ask this, but do any of you know if most pre-employment drug screens check for benzos (i know its not in the 5 panel but only the 10 panel)? I took valium yesterday without really thinking about how long it would be in my system (unless I do dilution it will definitely show up). Further, if I went to a dr. here in bangkok and told him my alcohol withdrawal symptoms do you think I could get him to write me a recommendation form to take valium that I could show my employer if it shows up on the test (since it is legal here I could get this as a replacement for a prescription?).

When is your employment drug check? The valium shouldn't be in your system any longer than 3-4 days max from what I know. It does linger around for a lot longer than many other drugs but not too long.

Valium is only legal WITH a prescription in Thailand btw, the pharmacies just don't care and sell it anyway. My local pharmacy would only sell me when there were no locals in, they actually had a sign hidden in a book they'd show you saying "please do not ask about valium or viagra at this time there is a thai person or police officer here, come back later" when there was someone in the shop.

I am in Bangkok until tuesday.

My employment drug test should be AROUND June 8th but not really set in stone (they said to take it when I get back which is on June 8th). I am going to try and push it back. Xanax is 3-4 days and honestly that is what I should have taken (I assumed valium had the same half life). Valium's half life is a lot longer, I think if you take it only once it can get out of your system in 5-10 days but I took 30 mg over 3 days so its a lot more questionable as to whether I would be clean for my test in a week. I could likely do dilution though to help me pass it (or if I am lucky they only test with a 5-panel test). Just in case I am going to go to a few local hospitals and try to get a scrip because I cannot imagine it is that difficult, especially if I tell them I have been prescribed them before (which is kinda true I was prescribed xanax 2 years ago although I would not be able to get proof to them in this short of a time frame).

Yeah go to a medical centre on hospital and ask for a script, make up a story that you're prescription for anxiety (or whatever) ran out and you need some to see you through before going home. They'll likely give you a script.

NewtoPUA: longer term, for the sake of your testosterone levels, find yourself a job where you don't need to take a drug test. That's degrading.

Ya I got a script and it was actually pretty easy (I mean I was having legitimate issues so that does not really surprise me).

The only problem is they prescribed me the Thai version of diazepam and on the outpatient receipt and bottle they gave me it only says Diamed their brand name for it and not the chemical compound. Hopefully the lab is smart enough to use the internet and sort this out.

Ya honestly in the future I would like to start my own business and not have to drug test until then I would be an idiot to screw up this excellent corporate job.

RE: Heading to Bangkok tomorrow
Well,

I have finally gotten back to the states from bangkok and I have to say I am missing it already. Thankfully the weekend before I left I had a good string of success. Friday I f closed a 19 year old from thai friendly, Saturday I closed/shored a 22 year old (likely semi-pro) from insomnia, and sunday a 30 year old (again likely semi-pro) from Spicy.

Another interesting thing happened my last day in my condo. I was leaving my condo to get some food with the 22 year old and when I get outside I notice like 8 cop cars and cops everywhere (atleast 10) and all traffic on thong lor was stopped and all the pedestrians had stopped too (everything was standing still which is crazy since sukhumvit 55 is so busy). At this point I was thinking someone was literally murdered at the place I was staying. Given I was a few whiskey cokes deep I decide to just keep walking past the front of the building towards the officers and next thing I know like 10 officers are yelling/screaming/threatening at me to stop and the chick I was with was totally freaking out. Then when I stopped I noticed a nice mercedes pull past me and up the side of the condo building and some people got out. Afterwards I was talking with the chick about what the hell happened still confused, and then she told me that the people in the car were members of the royal family. I guess they do not like to mingle with foreigners very often haha.

It's common to see members of the Royal Family driving around BKK. I saw what I'm told was the kings car a few years ago driving just down the road from kowsan and another time apparently a princess was in the car. The Thais always seem to stop to show respect, I was clueless both times what was going on as well.

I'm missing BKK too. Fun times.

I'm watching a documentary about Ladyboys in Thailand. It's bizzare. There's 2 English guys on it who live there, they both came to Thailand after their wives divorced them and started sleeping with prostitutes then soon moved on to ladyboys and now are both in relationships with katoeys but claim they aren't gay it's just that the ladyboys are more womenly and have better bodies than real women...they also have masculine faces, deep voices and adams apples in this case, both are obviously male.

There's another really horrendous looking ladyboy that just looks like an ugly man in a wig with fake tits that an American tourist in Pattaya on weeks holiday bought for her (as well as a laptop) before going back home to his wife, what an idiot. 'She' charges 4000B for a night but I can't figure out who would pay it because even when done up and dressed like a women all I can see is a really bad looking guy.

There's some strange people in Thailand, especially Pattaya.

I learnt this lesson too. No matter what a girl you've met in an after hours club says do not believe her. I spent a few hours with a girl in an after hours place in BKK, she told me all about her job, all her answers to my questions made sense, I asked her friends what she did to check her story out and it all seemed legit. She assured me she wasn't a pro, a good girl etc and was reluctant to come home with me. Eventually we get home. have sex and the next day when its time for her to leave she asks me for 1000B. I told her to fuck off and gave her nothing, she should have been honest in the first place and I wouldn't have taken her home.

Well, given that she's leaving you made the right call to get the bang at the time and went for the high-percentage option, just bad luck that that one turned out to be a pro. There are also more cultured middle class girls that that live and went to the international schools there, just that they don't come into a lot of contact with farangs.

Yeah I read the story on the Thai Visa forum. It seems a bit suspicious that they got so sick together but neither of them thought to get medical help. A lot of people on that forum reckon there's something sinister going on.

Far too many tourists come to grim deaths in Thailand and no one ever really finds out what happened. Like the numerous deaths in the Downtown Inn hotel in Chaing Mai last year, the deaths all got covered up by the police and claimed to be coincidental but it later came out the hotel had been using a banned chemical to treat bed bugs which had killed a few of their guests. Stuff like this happens often and a proper investigation is never carried out to find out why people died.

There was another story on Thai Visa the other day about an Aussie girl who had an argument with her boyfriend in Phuket at a bar. He went back to the hotel and left her there. When she got home she told him she was raped by the tuk tuk driver and 2 other guys. The police launched an investigation and watched some CCTV and clearly saw the women getting into a taxi and not a tuk tuk, they confronted her with the evidence and she admitted she made the whole thing up to guilt trip her boyfriend.

I bet if you think hard about your entire interaction you'll pick up a number of other tells.

Lesson learned though.
