I used to do just drinking dates but now I have also switched to dinner dates where we drink and then transition to a more drinking oriented date as more girls from thai friendly seem comfortable with this (and it has not hurt my lay chances). I have found you can find nice places that are cheaper. So unless it is a 10 and you really want to impress I would probably not do it.

Good read guys, I've been following this thread regularly to be up to date with what's hot in BKK. God knows how much I miss that place and can't wait to return. Btw, Alphatravel, you mentioned you pay 350B each time you bring a girl to your hotel. Which hotel you stay that charges you money? I over 4 months in BKK, I've stayed in a few hotels and was never ever asked for a joiner fee. Don't put up with that kind of crap, change hotel man. There are plenty around.

Chilling House is the last place on the right at Coco Walk. The other place I mentioned before isn't on Coco Walk. If you go to the street and hang a right it is on the corner. Can't remember the name, I have only gone there once. Open air type of place with a stage for bands.

I can't really do dinner dates because I finish practice at 7:30-8:00. By the time I cool down, shower and dress it is easily 9. After nearly a two hour practice of wrestling here in Bangkok I need to have some time to let myself cool down and rehydrate. Maybe this is why I haven't had a problem getting girls to meet me a bit later. They usually ask me about Jiu Jitsu before we meet and when we agree to meet I tell them I can after practice. It's pretty standard practice for hotels in Thailand to charge joiner fees. I've been to Thailand a few times and nearly all my hotels have had this policy. Some don't or the staff working at night just don't care or are too lazy to do any work so don't bother to charge you. You probably got lucky with your hotel choices. I like my hotel despite that fee, I've stayed in it on and off for 4 months and I'm not moving anywhere. I go home next week anyway but even still I'd stay here again.

Pricey for drinks! I resent paying over 100B for a small beer in many of the thai orientated bars because I know there's tons of bars around kowsan area that sell big bottles for as low as 60B. I tend to get a jug if they have them, bit better value for money. Ideally I'd get a bottle of rum or whisky but as I like to bar hop it's not possible. It's one of the only countries I've been to where tourists bars charge less for food and drink than local bars do.

I disagree about the movies and rapport a bit. I think it depends a lot on your personality. Obviously you cannot talk with them, but that does not really mean you cannot build any rapport (you can still whisper and and build comfort). I tend to be a pretty touchy guy so I think movies are perfect and it works especially well on girls that do not speak much english (two of the hottest girls I banged spoke pretty bad english). Instead of talking with them I just caress them a lot - starting with the hands and then moving to shoulder/neck and then to their legs (all girls I have been with have been receptive), whispering/biting in their ear, playful pinching etc. Overall all this has worked very well on both girls I did this with and I ended up taking both to dinner/drinks and closing on them.

Maybe I was lucky, who knows, but the girls I was with had no problem with me touching them in public (maybe because they were younger?), they did get shy but they were typically giggling as I did it (and would pinch/tickle me in return). Ya I went to q bar and honestly it was definitely overrated. The ratio was bad and MOST of the girls were not that hot. I've had that happen a couple time as well, girl turns up is a bit chubbier than in her photos but nothing major. Not really had any turn out to be much older. I always check the age, weight / body type section as it can give a lot away. What is Insomnia like? I never went there as I was told it was the ultimate pro / sex tourist club. Literally nothing but pros because it's near Nana Plaza (I think?) and all the bar girls go there. I just can't be fucked with dealing with pros, it pisses me off that some will outright lie all night about being hookers then wait until you're about to go home and then say you need to pay them or even wait until in the morning after sex then ask for 'taxi money' and say it's 1000B fare. You can spend all night in a club, chatting up girls only to get to the end of the night and have the choice of going home alone or paying for it, waste of a night.

I went out to Brick Bar last night, place was totally dead when we went in at 9:30pm and the staff said it probably wouldn't get busy as it was the end of the month. One hour later it was rammed, by midnight everyone was dancing on the tables. My date was blind drunk (we drank a bottle of Sangsom) and insisted she was only coming back to sleep and even paid the joiner fee. Of course we didn't actually sleep.

What is Insomnia like? I never went there as I was told it was the ultimate pro / sex tourist club. Literally nothing but pros because it's near Nana Plaza (I think?) and all the bar girls go there. Kind of put me off because I knew I'd just be wasting my time and have more episodes like I've had in Spicy / Climax. Insomnia is definitely in a location by a number of the bars but it has a more mixed group of pro/non-pro than spicy and climax. I have been there twice and although I encountered pros/sem pros I also have brought back one non-pro (accountant) and a probable semi-pro (she works at massage parlor). Further, I know several other normal thai girls that go their quite frequently because it is a lot more popular and well known (those girls had not heard of scratch dog or whip or safehouse). Overall I like the atmosphere, it has a large dance floor good music, and aside from the pro problem it is actually a lot easier to meet girls. Most of the other after-hours places seem to have a very table oriented environment which makes it harder to meet people. At insomnia they have a giant dance floor where it is easier to go meet people (albeit some may be pro).

In all honesty in terms of clubs I would compare it more to khao san road than to a spicy. It is definitely a foreigner after hours club so you will have a mix of pros and falang hunters. I have actually found that many thai girls that I have met at khao san go there a lot and many go there after khao san road clubs close. Also, it seemed like a lot of people that I saw at q bar went there too (so likely it pulls people from those clubs). So if you want to avoid pros it is probably not the best place to go but it is possible to pull there. As I mentioned before the first set I opened and wasted about 30 minutes on was pro but then the second girl I found was either normal or semi pro and I shored her.

Guys,

What is the tallest thai girl you have found and dated? I a may meet a 5'7'' thai girl from thai friendly tonight and due to the height I am slightly concerned she may actually be a ladyboy - note from the pictures you can tell no adam's apple and she SEEMS to have normal proportions for a girl. Do you think I am overthinking it? After my date fiasco last night I really do not want to have to screw up another date opportunity - especially since a girl I have been seeing wants to meet.
