Not surprised. Most SJs would be turned off by a forum dedicated to picking up women around the world and following unconventional (yet effective) lifestyle advice. Most SPs are naturals.

Most Ns on the other hand are somewhat socially awkward and make much more keen observations. I'd go as far as to say that more than 80% of the manosphere is intuitive.

Although being less than 5% of population, we are everywhere on internet forums, we devour knowledge, skills and information for our own purposes, we draw connections where others sense nothing. Logical as all hell, jack of all trades.

We also spend too much time analyzing everything to dust, delaying action for the "perfect" moment or until the plan has been thought out to death, and suffer from indecision because we weigh all options before diving in. This makes finding job satisfaction or a career daunting because we hate the idea of commitment to anything, whether it be rigid career path or women (glad I felt this way even when I was blue pill). Also have a rough time expressing emotions or sympathizing with others' feelings. Find it hard to make connections/rapport with others at times because we wish to converse on a deeper level than small talk the majority of the time.

So, the biggest challenge facing an INTP like myself is to morph into a man of action, rather than a neurotic tactician that scares himself into doing an approach or taking a risk based on overcalculation. Being able to make quick decisions is something we are not born with but must work on, as well as the intricacies of lighthearted conversation and emotional connection. Our gift of strong logic = curse of dry pussy.

I love myself and my unusual personality, and I understand my shortcomings, but I refuse to pigeonhole myself in a fashion that would allow me to fall in complacency like so many men. So while I believe my "diagnosis" as INTP is correct and all descriptions match me accurately, I won't let its quirks limit my self growth. I notice many out there in the Myers Briggs internet world will take their description and doom themselves to mediocrity.

The INTP forums are always the most active and long lasting online Myers-Briggs places while all the attempted ENTP forums end up deserted ghost towns where every new member rapid fire posts a bunch of messages and then disappears (and if they come back they just soon repeat the rapid fire and the disappearance).

Me, I've scored as ENTP or INTP every time I've taken the test but my actual life sounds more ENTP. I hate social events unless I get to be the center of attention... the internet is just not very satisfying compared to real world attention, even if it is really easy to troll and start fights here.

I haven't taken one these tests since college but at that time it came out as INTP. Almost J. Surprise surprise... This is beginning to look like an NT support group thread!

I sympathize / largely agree with comments above regarding this type.

I'm INTP, always fixing stuff, am able to find creative solutions when there initially was none, hate talking, dislike crowds, always analysing whether I want to or not. My biggest flaw is that I think too much and do not take nearly as much action as I should be. ( I for example, will see a woman who's showing interest in me, her getting tingles and all, but I'll analyse to no end how I should proceed, but I end up taking no actual action. It's retarded, I know, it's something I have to fix.) I have a tiring habit of analysing peoples facial subcues, their tone of voice, and eye contact during my conversations with them, if my brain sensed something amiss it'll analyse the scenario over and over again until I consciously realize what it saw. I get "lost in thought" much too often.

I still think I have ADHD, but seeing the other brain types really helps me understand the way people act. I have a very difficult time socializing with people, I can't maintain conversations with others for long before I mentally become exhausted, I avoid people at the moment to preserve whatever mental energy I have. My brains energy reservoir is so small, that preserving it is my number one priority everyday. Once that reserve is gone, I can no longer focus well until I've recharged, which takes a very long time.

I have never really been able to make friends, I'd like to change that, but it seems like it's going to be very hard work for my brain. I find it ironic that I have good looks, but such shitty people skills that I can't capitalize on it yet. Social Skills are too vital in life not to have- especially in the US, hell I've been reminded of this fact everyday trying to get more clients for my repair business (I get more repeat customers when I act Extroverted (energy drain, very very tiring, must be done in short bursts) and talk about common subjects, the Dallas Cowboys for example).


So I can assume I'd get along easier with other people with the same personality type right?

I'm confused on the difference between me and an INTJ, I'll read up on it, this is a very informative thread.

I'm not trying to complain, I posted this to see if anyone is similar to me, and to see what observations they've made on INTP.

I own the "Keirsey Temperament Sorter" book.

I have been extremely introverted and shy since childhood, albeit somewhat compensated and hidden by experience. I feel uncomfortable around strangers and crowds and prefer/need to be alone to recharge from the masses of unthinking, "nice", "friendly" idiots populating the planet.

By way of personality traits, I can offer up the added benefits of social awkwardness, some aspects of Asperger's and an above-average IQ. I've had my fair share of lays with mostly beautiful women but never understood how or why I'd gotten bedded - the common thing was that when I let the girl do her stuff I'd get laid but as soon as I'd open my mouth or start the attempt I'd miserably fail. Only in the last months have I started understanding female psychology due to reading pickup literature.

Introverted intuition is a stronge function. It is in the realm of mystics and the like.

Hitler and Joan of Arc were supposedly INFJs.

And whoever said it, SPs are naturals but intuitives tend to be socially awkward. Very true. I come off as a strange ESTJ sometimes.

Alot of these things become self-fulfilling prophesies in my experience, like Astrology. People read their results and think 'oh yeah, that's like me, I'm THIS type of person' and then look for the things that support that result, or subconsciously change their actions to fit.

Not that there's anything particularly wrong with this, but most people have a wide variety of traits and personal strengths, some of which may only become apparent in certain situations or in certain company. Defining yourself as one specific person and denying the possibility of change could be limiting for some people. Not that I'm saying anyone here is doing that, just my opinion (I think I posted earlier in the thread, or one like it).

The VIA character strengths test is another good one to do, it draws up an image of your personal strengths and strongpoints, the theory being if you focus on your strengths as opposed to worrying about your weaknesses, and try to build a life in which you use your strengths more frequently, you'll be happier and more fulfilled. It's a branch of positive psychology and quite new so not as accepted as other personality tests and measures of dimensions of personality. Makes sense to me though, although I don't claim to be an expert.

I'm not trying to complain, I posted this to see if anyone is similar to me, and to see what observations they've made on INTP.

I mean no offense by this so don't take it the wrong way: INTP is the stereotypical "loser" type. INTPs tend to love video games and you'll find a lot on internet forums. Primary function of Ti (introverted thinking) predisposes you to get caught up in your own head. A shadow function of Fe (extraverted feeling) explains the general social awkwardness. Watch some interviews with Bill Gates and you'll get a weird and awkward vibe.

Not saying you're doomed, but INTPs have a more challenging social roadblock to overcome than most others (in our contemporary society). Also, such a low mental energy reserve may be a symptom of something else, such as poor diet, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, etc. Something to think about.

INTPs and INTJs are quite different. You share more similarities with ISTPs. Again, the functions drive this.

I use Jesus (or Gandhi) and Hitler as famous examples to illustrate the INFJ leadership style. I couldn't possibly imagine a better compare and contrast.

NPs tend to be socially awkward. NJs less so. It's all in the functions and their interplay. Almost all of the socially awkward "INFJs" you might meet are actually INFPs.

Certainly possible. MBTI merely indicate preferences, not reality. It's healthy if you use it to analyze your natural tendencies/predispositions, but unhealthy if you stifle a previous strength or emphasize a weakness in the name of "I'm ____, I should be like _______".
