I just saw the leaked script for the finale.

Here you go:

Good point. The show is aware of this which is why they continue to show Walt make mistakes. He is ultimately a dorky science teacher who still cares about his family even though they don't want anything to do with him anymore.

As smart as Heisenberg can be, he still doesn't have the sophistication of a Tony Soprano or Stringer Bell or even a Marlo. There is a difference between breaking bad and being born into the world of crime.

Mike in some ways was smarter than Walt and did tell him, "Just because you shot Jesse James, doesn't make you Jesse James".

A few things:

Walt Jr. is bitch made, but I guess Walt was pretty much a bitch as well until he started cooking meth.

Meth Damon is one cold-blooded motherfucker. Torture a dude to his breaking point and than bring him ice cream? That shot is diabolical. That's like when Mike Tyson used to beat dudes' asses and then kiss them.

The other thing that got to Walt was when Gretchen was talking about how sweet and harmless he is. He's definitely out to prove something.

I hope Lydia is the last to die. She should make it all the way to the end, web everyone else is dead and you think she's going to make it. The she keels over from a poisoned tea bag. Or better yet, she gets it from a poisoned tampon. Ita a travesty that mike is dead and that uptight bitch is still drawing air through her pursed lips and clenched teeth.

Marie is terrible, but loosing Hank is more than even she deserves.

Gus and Lydia are very sophisticated at laundering with Los Pollos Hermanos and Madrigal. As much as I like the wire, to say Breaking Bad is less sophisticated at laundering is just inaccurate.

The Greek(the brains behind the drug trafficking in the wire) got away with everything only because he was an FBI informant not because he was that great at it), and the message there(that I got) was that the highest levels of government and law enforcement are completely corrupt. Of course, the mid and low levels of government were just as broken (Clay Davis was totally corrupt and got caught but tried his luck in court and won thanks to race baiting and an all black jury, even Cedric Daniels was forced to resign after becoming police chief and he seemed relatively less corrupt but that is the point I took from the wire, that the system is pretty broken despite a lot of good people)

Ironically, Marlo was the least sophisticated but still was the only character on either show that didn't get caught or killed.(I am assuming there is no way Lydia gets away without dying and at this point, even if Walt "wins" against the nazis, he has already lost everything). But marlo was young

Walt and Skyler were different, certainly. I got the impression the entire series that they was in over their heads. At least Walt had enough sense to know when to try to quit, but Hank found Gale's book. Whoops.

As for their money, one car wash wasn't going to cut it. They talked of expanding but still should have tried to get help from either Saul or Lydia.

As for Jesse, the entire series, I kept thinking "why isn't jesse trying to launder his money, he will surely get caught by the IRS after buying a 300000 house with drug money that was never laundered." One of the few plot holes and lapses in logic on this series.

As you and someone else said, the lack of Walts sophistication is shown, but probably done on purpose. He's a dorky teacher not a kingpin. Not to mention his ego and chip on his shoulder get on his way of rationality. Saul did have that donation campaign for his cancer treatment a while back.

I've heard about the church donation thing, although it was in Mexico and churches/orphanages let one use their facilities as storage. Never been to inglewood but some churches around the area do seem to come mind.

WW is incredibly smart but there's a learning curve that he has to make up for. The guy emerging with the knowledge and hardness to overcome this stuff is Heisenburg. The only guys to consistently make WW look dumb was Gus and Mike.

WW made a great point though with his success, what you lack in wisdom/experience can be made up with logical thinking.

Regarding money, they had a great thing with the car wash that had to have a LOT of cash business, there was simply too much money to launder.

Remember, Saul was experienced with this too, it doesn't matter how many black churches you go to, 80 million is going to be tough to hide. Also remember WW for whatever reason, doesn't seem interested in fleeing the country.

Also Marie is horrible. She's constantly meddling, constantly making irrational demands because she "feels" that something should be done to her liking. She isn't supportive, she's confrontational. Nothing she says is supportive, it's a nagging manhood challenge. She and Skyler both lie when it suits them. They have no problem decieving others. It's when they are decieved that the holier than thou attitude comes out. Skyler had no problem doing whatever she wanted with WW's money. She had no problem accepting thanks from Marie when WW was the one paying for Hank's medical bills. Marie had no problem dropping off bills on her way to the salon. They're both ungrateful, unappreciative, manipulative parasites. For Skyler to act like she can just throw Walt out of his own house at any time?? Every man should be cringing at that. "This isn't your house anymore!"

They are both horrible people.

Marie has no problem saying fuck Walt even though her husband can walk again because of him. She has the memory of a goldfish when it comes to the length of time they have all known each other. Walt has been a doormat and a provider the whole time she's known him, does he get the benefit of the doubt ever? Fuck no.

Skyler has no problem saying "kill Jessie".

They're typical women, trying to act like they are good people when they consistently do deceptive, manipulative, and outright evil things.

Exactly. We have to remember this show, despite how good it is, was created for the general public. That means WW won't be moving to Thailand or Russia to escape his dark past and to enjoy his millions, but rather holding onto his family and American dream lifestyle (house, family, safety, child-rearing). Realistically though, I think he has the resources to get himself and his family out if he really wanted to and if Skylar and Flynn would comply.

WW is dying from cancer. He originally got into meth to make enough money to care for his family when he was gone. I don't think taking care of your family is blue pill. Sure, becoming a meth king was a tad too far. hah

I like how they portray him pretty vulnerable to the point of being fragile and then can turn him into some ego driven monster who can fuck you up.

Definitely one of the more interesting characters on television.

I am glad the show took place in NM as opposed to Cali (I think it was originally slated to be set in Riverside, CA). The scenery of NM became a character of the show, and I can't imagine it being the same show if it took place in Cali. She is no saint. She slept with Ted and helped him cook his books. Then when the IRS came knocking for their tax dollars she had the nerve to give him Walt's money (oh, the irony).

Regarding her and Walt Jr. turning on Walt and telling him to get out of the house, I don't know man. At some level I can see that Hank's death was the straw that broke the camel's back. Skyler isn't innocent in any of this but at least until now the family was somewhat insulated (despite Hank's shooting). With Hank dying (even though Walt didn't kill him), shit got real. Until then it was a we made money by selling drugs but our family is safe. I think some posters here are underestimating Hank's death. No I definitely hear you, Hanks death and the circumstances not being known is understandable. But remember, Skyler kicked him out long before that. At one point he has to negotiate how many nights a week he can come over for dinner and how much advance notice he has to give.

But here again, I know his goal is to leave money behind after his death, but now what's the point? Is he desperately clinging to this idea to give them money so his life will have still served a purpose?

I'd have peaced out a long time ago. "Here's a mil babe, have a nice life. Walt Jr, when you want to get to know your old man after you turn 18 in a couple years look me up. I can't put up with your mom's bullshit anymore"
