I honestly don't get the love that the Saul character gets, to the point where he's getting his own spin-off. Perhaps you guys can enlighten me? I don't dislike the character, but a lot of people say he's their favorite one.

He isn't my favorite but I do like him. It's because he is a weasel and the scenes with him are always kinda funny. Often, his scenes provide the only lighter moments in the show when the entire episode is quite dark. They also give him funny one-liners and he can act.

With him the audience knows what they are getting. He is an unscrupulous lawyer who will do whatever to survive and seemingly has connections for everything.

It could be a bad idea and I question whether or not Saul can support an entire series on his own, but I'm intrigued by the prospect. I liked how his character was written, his adaptability and overall vibe. I view the Saul series more as a Breaking Bad "expansion pack" with the prerequisite of seeing the entire Breaking Bad series to appreciate it. And even then, if the Saul character didn't interest you much I doubt the Saul series will either.

Saul is the comedy relief. He's a shady morally flexible ambulance chaser that's actually very good at being a lawyer and also as an adviser. He's loyal and seems to go above and beyond the call of duty many times.

I think he's hilarious and the sleezy way he dresses along with his cheesy hairstyle is perfect.

Hell, the slogan alone is too funny.

I think he adds a great dimension but I don't see him being able to carry his own series either. I hope it works though.

We were meant for far more than to suffer in our self created prisons only to die alone. It doesn't have to be that way. It never did.

We can agree it's a monumental piece of work--and that you needed a "wildcard," as someone put it above, to provide another layer to the story--but Jesse's repeated, constant, epic fuck-ups have been a bit much.

Dude is way too much of an emotionally unstable little bitch. Not only is he supremely annoying, I found it implausible that Walt would have forgiven him that many times--especially when he became worthless to him a while ago.

I was so excited when they were about to execute his ass, but now this.

So whats up with the rest of the show? Is there 6 more episodes coming? I read season 6 was a split season with 6 more shows after the first 6. Then the guy at the cable company I was chatting with about my shitty internet said there was only 2 more episodes.

I don't really want it to end....

There's no season 6, technically. They stopped for almost a year halfway through season 5, so the final 8 episodes sorta feel like a new season. But yea, only 2 more.

Ok, put in you predictions on who is going to die in the last episode.

I say Walt kills the Nazis and rescues Jesse, but is fatally injured in the process and tells Jesse to give his money to his family.

Put in your predictions on if anyone else dies.

Lol at the volvo commercial

I either download it right after the show or PVR it. Commercials kill the show especially a show like BB.

I thought the penultimate episode would be the crazy one and the last episode would be more of an epilogue. Looks like they are setting up the last episode to be pedal to the metal crazy.

I found Walter White to be very sympathetic this episode. Paying some guy you don't even know 10k to spend an hour with you just shows how alone he really is.

I thought he would figure out that Jesse was still alive and the Nazis killed Andrea and that would be his motivation to go back but it had to be Gray Matters.

Gilligan surprises us all. Also, I am pretty certain now that Walt will die next week. Can't wait for next Sunday.

Yeah, before the season started I thought maybe they will do a Godfather 2 like ending where he lives but everyone around him is gone and he is alone but now I am almost certain that Walt will die next week given how they showed his weight loss. One thing I don't get is if he is losing weight because of cancer, how is hair growing back? Do cancer patients only lose hair because of chemotherapy?

My prediction:

Walt dies
Nazis die
Lydia dies

Jesse is alive but gets caught by the police.

Skyler loses the kids and Marie becomes their caretaker. This has to happen, there has been far too much foreshadowing in previous episodes for this.

RE: Breaking Bad is Seriously Awesome [CONTAINS SPOILERS]
Slayer can you explain to me the thing about gray matter and his return? I fully didn't catch that.
The owners are doing a PR stunt by donating for rehab centers in order to shy away from being associated with Walter White. To me that's dumb because they were putting Gray Matter out in the news more and more.

Yeah, having walter pay 10K for someone to talk to you (he didn't try playing cards) is pretty sad. I can imagine how old people in retirement homes feel.

I'm not sure if Andrea is dead, it seems like Todd knocked her out in order to kidnap her. Shit, Jesse was almost about to make it out of there alive...what a bummer.

About the Volvo commercial: There was a Volvo commercial which seems like coincidental since Walter is going to drive a Volvo in the next episode (the volvo was shown in the season opener at Dennys).

I'll bet my prediction on Slayer's prediction.

Walt is dead no matter what
Nazis must die, dat m60.
Lydia could have gotten out alive, but the Heisenberg was to good to pass up.....so she'll die.
Jessie commits suicide.

Skyler goes coo coo.

You have to remember that Gray Matter according to show is a pretty big company worth $2 billion+. The owners are doing a PR stunt, just think of it as corporate social responsibility (which are PR stunts as well). They are minimizing Walter’s contribution to the company and publicly distancing themselves from him (as they should).

I wouldn’t say it’s a dumb move given that Walter’s story has become a national story and Gray Matter must be receiving some negative publicity. As hollow as that donation is, it is a necessary move to acknowledge their history (though minimized by them) and just try to move on.

Yeah, sometimes it is easy to forget that we are social animals. I am pretty sure Andrea is dead. That was a headshot. I was actually relieved that Jesse got caught because as soon as he tried to escape I thought he was gonna be killed tonight.

I like your predictions. They sound very plausible, especially the Jesse committing suicide part. He is riddled with guilt and he probably blames himself for Andrea’s death now. At this point, nothing would surprise me. Are you adding your predictions to my predictions or are you betting against mine?

Thanks for your detailed reply.

RE: Gray Matter - I thought they called out Walt and Walt was going to go after them.

RE: Andrea - She was shot? Damn, my small TV made it seem like she got whacked in the head with a baton. Those Nazis don't joke around. I'm shocked.

RE: Prediction - I'm agreeing with your prediction and adding a few changes. Meth Damon is a demon, a total psychopath. It seems like his lust for poosy will get him killed.

Lydia will probably be saved by Todd and she goes on or she goes to jail. The cops know that Heisenberg meth is out there. It's a shame to see how Jr treats his dad, who provided for him. Then again, Jr's father figure was killed by Walt indirectly.

RE: Breaking Bad is Seriously Awesome [CONTAINS SPOILERS]
The extended version of the theme song that came on when Walt got pissed at seeing the Gray Matter people on TV tells me it's going to be on like Donkey Kong. Last episode will be a blood bath. Walt finally snaps 100 percent. He's dying and he's got nothing to lose. There's a loose end somewhere we're not remembering, and he's going to get on the horn with that loose end and hatch a plan.

Todd and the gang are fucking gone. Lydia definitely gets killed. I say Jesse and Walt reconcile when Jesse helps him get dat delicious revenge. In the end, he's going to realize Jesse was more family to him than everyone else (as much of a whiny, little, traitorous bitch that he is). I don't like it, but that's how it's going to go.

The prelude to the season had Walt getting the ricin from the boarded-up house, I think that's going to be for the Gray Matter people.

My guess is that the last episode ends with Walt getting coughing up a lung as he walks out of court with Saul Goodman having successfully represented him.

All that in a 47-minute episode.

theoretical spoilers.(basically what I think will happen in the finale, but it hasn't happened yet, just what I think will happen).

It sounded like he was ready to give himself up(he called the DEA after his son told him he wants no part of him) but then he saw the grey matter people on tv and wants to go back I guess to kill them and the nazis too to get his money back.

As for a loose end, Walt will turn fully into heisenberg now and as such he will build some explosives(remember how he took a crystal to Tuco's building and blew it up? something along those lines)

My biggest problem with walt: his friends at gray matter offered to pay for his chemotherapy and give him a high paying job at their company and he didn't want their help because he saw it as charity and wanted to cook meth instead to pay his medical bills. wtf. Now he wants to kill them. Again wtf.

Meth Damon blew Andrea's head off while Jesse watched and the other Nazi's said "remember there is still the kid" so Andrea is definitely dead and Jesse will keep cooking for the nazis because he doesnt want Barak to get killed too.

I can't imagine Walt doing all of this on his own (killing the Gray Matter people and the nazi's in one 40 minute episode) but I guess Heisenberg could(using poison and science/explosives). After killing all of them, the question is "will walt kill Jesse or will jesse kill walt?"

Anyone else thinking that "Flynn" character is an ungratefull little shit? He didnt respect Walt when he was Mr. Clean and now he doesnt respect him as Heisenberg either. He always looked up to Hank and from the start he never respected his dad. I thought when Walts Heisenberg identity came out Walt Jr. would finally show some respect but the exact opposite happened.

And that thing about Grey Matter I didnt really get it. Yeah ok so was pissed they denied his contribution to the company but what now, is he going after Grey Matter?? Everyone seems to think he will battle the nazis (which makes a lot more sense) but what does this have to do with grey matter? How did that tv show get him from wanting to give himself up to going back into full on heisenberg mode?

His vanity. He felt he did make a contribution to the company when it was starting (this was explained in earlier episodes where he dealt with the husband and wife team_) , and their denial of it has infuriated him and he wants revenge or vindication. The character is very narcissistic.

Tonight was one of the best TV shows I've seen. THings kept leading into one another in a way that was logical but still surprising.
