There's a lot of truth in this. In season 3, Gus and Mike wanted to kill Jesse. Walter was on good terms with Gus until he intervened and saved Jesse. Then Gus turned on both of them and turned Jesse against Walter tactfully.

If Walter had let Gus and Mike kill Jesse he would have been still working in the lab peacefully but then the show could have ended right there.

I hate Skyler too especially from the earlier seasons, she did redeem herself in season 5 a little bit until the last episode. As for Flynn I am not sure how I feel. As a 16 year old (though he looks much older on the show and he is 20-21 I think) what would you do if you just found out that your dad who you kind of worship and care for is a drug kingpin and the uncle with whom you had a father-figure type relationship is dead (and you think your dad had something to do with it)?

I considered that, but it's hard for me to think I'd just turn on my dad and make something up on the spot right there that didn't happen. Maybe that's how he perceived things though, which honestly pisses me off even more.

I don't understand why the nazis didnt just waste WW. They could have taken the 80 mil. And been on their way. Everyone who witnessed everything would have been taken out. Walts obviously out for revenge now.

WW tries to save Hank offering up 80 million dollars without even thinking, he's clearly crushed beyond belief after they kill Hank, and then the only thing that's required to make the nazi's feel better about a revenge plot is a handshake?

I think it was a little hard to believe but I think Vince Gilligan did it intentionally. Family is the central theme in this show and there was a moment when they showed Todd talking to his uncle. His uncle even said I am doing this for my nephew because he respects you. We do know that Todd is a psycho who wants to fuck Lydia and he respects Walt a lot. He too, like Jesse refers to him as Mr. White instead of Walt.

Jesse was originally planned to be killed off by Tuco at the end of season 1, sometimes I think it would have been better that way. Almost the entire plot has been been Walt fixing Jesse's fuckups:

Meeting with a potential new business partner that could make us millionaires? Better get high first!
What's that? I know fuck-all about chemistry, and contribute nothing that Gale doesn't? I want half of everything anyway!
Only 30(?) million a year? Bullshit, I better start stealing meth and selling to people in rehab, cause I'm the bad guy now and I embrace it, no turning back!
Better find a new girl now, I am a millionaire after-all. Oh, what's that? An average looking single mom/meth addict? 10/10, would fall in love with immediately.
These guys that work for my meth kingpin boss used my girlfriend-of-one-week's kid in a murder, better kill them!
Whoops, fucked that up! Good thing Mr. White was there to save me from Gus. Guess I should probably try again by just walking up to two armed guys with actual experience, holding a gun at my side.

Jesse's character simply doesn't make sense, and it's the biggest downside to the show. He's the wildcard that allows the plot to work.

The show has a very "every man for himself" feel. There's hardly any teamwork. In the middle seasons, it's either Jesse is mad at walt, or Walt is mad at Jesse.

Hank and Marie are sort of a team, but no one likes them. Plus they disown their own family. I thought, early on, that Hank would find out and keep quiet because walt was family.

You think Walt could have given him 10 mil or so to shut up.

As for the question of why the nazis didn't kill Walt, my question is why didn't they make him cook again? The reason he had the cash was because his product was superior. He's the only one that can make it that good.


the question now is will Jesse and Walt reconcile. It's going to be annoying hearing their next conversation.

The only thing I can think is that they may want to try to get walt to help them to cook again. He agreed to do one more cook, but apparently they just enslaved jesse instead.

Speaking of Jesse, I couldn't help but wonder how many gimps are chained up and cooking meth for nazis in real life in a similar predicament.

This has got to be the most epic production I have ever seen on the screen. Better then any other movie or series hands down in my opinion. The characters are all cast so well, the story is so well written an keeps you wondering whats gonna happen next. It's also kind of believable the way it played out. A man thinking he was dying needing money for treatments and his family... I also hate every female character in the show. If I found out my girlfriend made millions cooking meth I would put a ring on her finger right then and there.

As far as the Nazis letting Walt go, if it was not for Todd an Walt they would not have got the opportunity to cook meth and make money and they would have never got the 69 million they took right then an there. Todd really respects Walt and told his uncle not to kill him. Todd is a pretty important part of their new meth business so you got to keep him happy. The barrel of cash they gave Walt is a drop in the bucket to the ones they took an the money to be made cooking his meth.

BB is about personalities changing, Mr. Chips turning into Scarface.

Walter goes from supreme-beta to true-alpha through the series.

Jesse goes from alpha to ultra-beta-whinny-little-bitch through the series.

I was talking about BB with one my lizards, she hated skyler but kept calling Walter a psychopath.

I would rather prefer an average girlfriend that keeps her mouth shut than some 8 or 9 gold digger who will sell me out to the police at a moments notice.

It's good to hear that other people think the Jesse character tainted the series. We can agree it's a monumental piece of work--and that you needed a "wildcard," as someone put it above, to provide another layer to the story--but Jesse's repeated, constant, epic fuck-ups have been a bit much.

Dude is way too much of an emotionally unstable little bitch. Not only is he supremely annoying, I found it implausible that Walt would have forgiven him that many times--especially when he became worthless to him a while ago.

I was so excited when they were about to execute his ass, but now this.

Has anyone mentioned the 'Junior is Ted Beneke's kid' theory here? I mean, look at a picture of Walt and junior side by side, then a picture of Beneke and Junior.

More importantly, there's an episode in season 3(I think) where Beneke asks about junior and Skylar gets nervous/dodges the question. Then Beneke says something about Junior having "good genes".

Stuff like this and the Grey Matter plotline really could have been fleshed out more.

As for Jesse being necessary for drama, I think they relied to much on him for that. It's a highschool teacher with little to no street smarts cooking meth, plenty problems could arise without Jesse spewing estrogen all over the place.

Vince Gilligan had it right in the first place. Jesse Pinkman was supposed to die in the ninth episode of the series. From what I read, the main theme of the show has stayed pretty much the same, but Jesse living and Mike Ehrmantrout coming into existence(because Bob Odenkirk wasn't available to shoot the scene where they find Jesse in the crack house) changed quite a few plots from the original story.

I was the impression that the first time the audience sees Skyler and Ted fucking around is the first time it happens.

And I find it kind of ironic that he would say an autistic kid has good genes.

Now that Hank is dead, Walt's last standing enemy/accomplice is Jesse. If the nazis had killed Jesse they pretty much would have killed the story arc along with it.

I think Walt will realize Jesse is now the only family he has and come to the rescue.

But who really knows?

Walt couldn't even keep his wife and son in check and he ran in like a white knight to protect his cheating wife, degenerate son, and revolting de facto second son Jessie.

Hank is the only alpha on the show. When his number was up, he went out like a man.

Walt begged for Hank's life like a little bitch. You could see the contempt in Hank's eyes when Walt groveled before the scum of the earth to spare Hank.

Jessie was and always will be a bitch. Look at how he cried with his pouty little eyes for Mr. White to please spare him from the evil Nazis.

To Walt, family is everything. He earned the 80M so they could live comfortably. If he gave her up then the whole goal would've been canned. Walt had a red line and that was no family getting hurt.

Walt's loyalty to family and the people he cares about is unwavering. He has EVERY reason to ditch his useless wife, Jesse, Hank, all of them.

This is another key component to the show, if Walt didn't have these qualities (defects) He would have just stayed with Gus and that would have been the end of it.

Just like having Jesse create obstacles for Walt to negotiate really.

MikeCF - I thought Hank was an alpha also but I didn't see him resenting Walt. I thought he finally understood that Walt wasn't in control the way he assumed, and also understood that he wasn't some heartless psycho like he'd imagined.

I will say...it sucks this great series has to end. I binge watched it on Netflix in just over a week and loved it.
