They're so concerned about keeping up appearances that they never get to enjoy the easy poon in their cities. They could kill it if they snapped out of it, but they trap themselves.

High So dudes in SEA, at least in Thailand are slaying pussy like you would not believe man. They also fuck the low status girls sometimes but on the DL. Don't shed a tear for them haha, they are getting lots of sex.

Yeah I still believe the tier of girl that most expats meet (even the good looking guys out there) don't come close to the top tier the local hi-so guys are getting.

I find that a lot of expats exaggerate the looks of their girls but just walking around any mall or establishment in makati, bgc, etc.. a lot the locals still have better looking girls if you do a realistic comparison.

I feel the same in Bangkok too, the girls the local hi-so guys get blows away expat girlfriends.

Money/status isn't an aphrodisiac for me, but you're right, it is for some men, and in relatively poor countries, this "class-ism" is more common, for obvious reasons.

I like nice, loyal, healthy girls with beautiful smiles and amazing values.

You're one of the people who's posts on the Philippines I agree with most, and I've always been under the impression that you're not dating girls who live in squatter areas.

In fact, I seem to remember you hinting that your girlfriend in Manila is from a middle class, educated background. Am I correct in that?

The truth is, despite what many here try to portray, it is not black and white. The Philippines has a middle class, they also have an upper-lower and upper/lower-middle class.

To act like your choices are restricted to either dirt poor girls or "high society" girls is just not accurate (not directing this at your specifically).

I'm not saying money/status is an aphrodisiac, but destitute poverty is certainly a turn off, at least for me.

Not to mention that guys constantly complain about Filipinas being difficult to relate/communicate with, stupid, boring, lacking culture, etc. when simply dating in another class would alleviate that problem (again, this is not directed at anyone in particular).

Yeah man, it’s bullshit that girls are either poor or ‘elite/hi-so’ here. It’s not at all like that.

There’s a good amount of the type of girl you described, of varying degrees of wealth, in Manila. It's what I pursue.

Maybe the issues is what guys consider elite/hi-so. It seems some guys consider anyone with a car ‘elite’ even though 50% of Filipino households own one.

If you're only banging girls from a house that doesn't own a car you're dating the lower 50% of the country. If your girl doesn't have a fridge you're dipping into the bottom 10%. Laugh

The #1 guy most girls fantasize about here is Channing Tatum in my experience. He's the only guy I see repeatedly mentioned in a girl's Tinder profile or when I probe they mention. The next 2 or 3 guys they love are all white. I can't say I've meet a Filipina yet that told me she loves a Ronaldo or a Nadal type guy. Maybe it's a confirmation bias thing on my part.

Hmmm...that's interesting, I was told I look like Channing Tatum several times, lol. Isn't it interesting how these memes replicate all over the world? Channing Tatum, lol, Go Team America!

Haha, it's great to be American, man, I got so much love in the Philippines due to being American, the Philippines is actually the #1 country in the world in regards to a positive perception of Americans, check out the link:

http://www.pewglobal.org/2013/07/18/chap...ed-states/

Filipinos are known for being friendly folks, but for Americans, they really lay out the red carpet.

There are 1000s of white guys living and working here and are not sex tourists. In my building alone there are lots of Swedes, Nordes, Germans, Aussies, etc., working here. Many are with very hot local girls - much hotter than you'll see with the short term guys.

Agreed, completely, foreigners who have their act together don't have difficulties getting hot girls in the Philippines, no one's claiming otherwise, and I actually specifically stated that.

Any guy can kill it in the Philippines, blonde, black haired, African, European, Asian, any guy, individual traits will determine someone's results, not these macro-factors, not at all, I agree with you, just musing, that's all.

(04-12-2015 10:13 PM)YardDog Wrote:  Much of the elite is half Chinese or full Chinese and they don't have Spanish blood. Outside of the Ayalas I can't really think of any other elite Spanish families. And many (most?) of the famous mixed Filipinos are half white, not have Spanish.

I think you're also greatly underestimating the influence of the USA here. America's influence in this country is far greater that Spain's.

You're right, and especially in the most highly urban cores, American culture has supplanted the old Spanish/Filipino fusion, in everything from the courtship process to food. Also, America has a huge influence on both the politics and the pop culture of the country, and the Chinoys do make up a large part of the elite (the biggest part).

That said, the Filipino culture, the corruption, the Catholicism, the nepotism, the strong family bonds, the classism, the joy for life, all of these things, they have strong Latin roots, the imprint is there, loud and clear, from the architecture to the last names, to the formality, to the courtship process that some girls still abide by, to the food even.

But it's fading. I thought it was the stronger of various cultures in the mix, but perhaps there's a lot to what you're saying...American culture has oozed in and is supplanting it. So then it comes down to the culture of the individual girl, whether she's joined the march of "modernity," for lack of a better word, or whether she still holds to those traditional values, and even that is not black and white, people are every shade of grey in between...

Does she have one night stands? Or does she have to be courted and have curfew?

Does she eat at McDonald's every day? Or does she make home-cooked meals?

Does she go to Church regularly? Or is she agnostic or atheist?

It breaks down to the individual.

Every day this assimilation into "modernity," again for lack of a better word, with horrible fast food, Hollywood, casual sex, obesity, and the breakdown of the family, seeps into the Philippines more and more, like in other countries across the world being absorbed into the fold via globalization.

Hopefully they at least get a giant boost to GDP after all is said and done, to make up for the negative effects of this.

Filipinos are becoming more and more Americanized every day...if they aren't already.

That's BS. There are certainly lots of you guys around but you're not even the majority of foreigners here. You do realize Manila is the BPO capital of the world, right? Who do you think runs those businesses? Sex tourists?

That's exactly what I'd expect a Manila sex tourist to say.....Dodgy

But seriously, I'm with YardDog. Tons of guys in SEA are obviously not sex tourists, especially in the large cities. If it is anything like Bangkok, then girls can easily tell you are not a sex tourist. Or at least they should be able to as long as you are young-ish, in shape and well dressed.

If people are getting mistaken for a sex tourist then they need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror.

Where I am at in the PI right now it is very easy to spot the guys who are not sex tourists. There isn't many of them, and they stand out like a sore thumb. Basically they are the guys who look like they were able to get laid back in their home countries. The other guys are likely sex tourists.

The culture definitely has American influence, but I think the Latin/ Spanish and Asian influences are still quite distinct also. Maybe this is more noticeable outside of Manila, since it's more of a cultural and economic hub, but many of the people I meet are still quite far from being anywhere close to American.

I really enjoy the blend of cultures though. Some things feel very familiar, while others feel quite foreign.

YardDog, my understanding of high society women here is the sort who hang out with Tim Yap at 71 Gramercy on a regular basis (which would more or less fall in the 2nd category you describe)....have lived here 10 years in June and yet to see a foreigner work his way into this sort of cliché...those that have tend to be gay.....but why would any decent guy bother anyway, all a load of shite and do you really want to be walking around Makati with a target on ya back when things go pear shaped!!!

I know I have had quite a number of complaints about this region, but I have wondered if the following is only a 'Philippines thing'

When a girl wants to ask something particularly bold or significant, she says something along the lines of "May I ask?" or "Can I ask you?" or you get the idea. When that message comes up I think, O bother here comes a question that will bother me and she probably knows it. They always give this 'brace for it' question like the above examples before asking it. Instead of just asking the darn question! Don't know why they do that or if it is done everywhere. Seems to bug me.

Are you guys saying anyone who went to a top 5 school, travels internationally, has a car, and their family has means (nice house, cars, disposable income, etc.) is hi-so? Let's say the top 10-15% of Manila.

It doesn't need to be that technical.. upper middle class/upper class by developed world standards is reasonably "hi-so" in my point of view. We don't need to go super semantics here and extrapolate down to what qualifies as hi-so as defined by local Philippines cost of living or some economics tables. A person earning 50k USD annual would be considered "well off" by many Filipinos when it's nothing by U.S. standards which is why it's better to just make it easy and use the developed world definition of upper middle to upper class.

A person from an upper middle class family in the Philippines could be described as upper middle class in the U.S. too. This means annual income around the 200k>+ range.

A person whose family is in the several million dollars equivalent net worth range = obvious upper class.

The old school industry and other billionaire types are untouchable by most anyways (anywhere in the world) and are a different class of people altogether. It's hi-so too but really we're talking about an elite class all unto itself.

Quote:It's more an access issue, not because the girls don't want to date a handsome foreigner that's based Manila for reasons other than sex.

We had this discussion on this forum in 2013 and most everyone that's lived here long term agreed this place is nothing like BKK when it comes a foreigners ability to get top tier women that are from wealthy families. I think if you lived here full time and integrated yourself into the first group I outlined above you might change your mind.

It's just my own anecdotal observations spanning some 10 years of constantly living around SEA. If your experiences differ then that's fine too. It's not some competition. Whatever someone is dating and makes them happy is fine. I have a lot of close SEA friends in both Philippines (mostly well off Fil-Ams that go back and forth between CA and Manila) in the U.S. as well as close Thai friends.

I'm not interpreting "best" girls as dating just well off girls but top tier girls with the best combination of looks and decent personalities. I find the local hi-so guys to get the best girls still. I usually find there's something off with a lot of girls expats end up with. I think the girls who naturally seek out foreigners or are foreigner exclusive tend to have some odd issues to begin with independent of the social class of the girl. Sometimes it's not readily apparent until later.

YardDog, yep, we are on the same page mate...that link to the other thread, the first picture is Yap and I'm sure you will recognize two of the women he is with...both connected too and I am sure sponsored by very high profile Filipino guys!!!

I've known a lot of foreign guys get badly burnt when it comes to the hi-so scene....it is very very cliché, and all about who you are seen with etc...I'm sure the women do fancy some of the foreigners, it is not them who are the problem, the jealous ex bf or potential suitor/sponsor is what inevitably leads to agro down the line!

I've never been to Valkyrie, there is simply nothing there for me. I'm 43 years old now and from what I have heard that place is very much for the younger crowd, think Embassy at the Fort back in the day....I like my women late 30's early 40's and it's a waste of time heading to the high end places, well at least on certain nights. Prive has just started it's Retro Love night on a Tuesday and the DJ is a decent guy, he also works at one of my regular stomping grounds SdN on a Friday night, its not a bad night just shame it is a school night!

I subscribe to the Supersurf999 as I am on Globe Prepaid...great deal for the 30 days and no limits whatsoever

Cheers

Never met a single girl that did not ask: "why you coming here? to visit your girlfriend?"

wtf???

O ya because every single guy on filipino cupid that messages a girl is going there "to visit his girlfriend only" Facepalm

Does anyone know why they ALWAYS ask that?

On a positive note btw, I can confirm first hand that there are very few cities, even on Mindanao that are too conservative to rack up a notch count fast. I been going around and notice that you can get a notch fast anywhere. Even a small town, many girls are just not conservative anymore and if you can get your butt over to the town, the notch will be waiting for you in the form of SNL! Travel is fun for me so I combine the excitement of travel with the anticipation of another good lay just waiting for me in the next city. This is the adventure of a lifetime! So I do keep getting annoyed by things, but also getting rewarded a lot by diversifying geographically within the country.

Yes, they ask that to see if you're a "playboy", always get that in person not online. Worded something like "you met any girls here yet", or if i was in another city and we're talking about that they will always ask "did you meet any girls in Cebu?"

The "yes, hundreds" response doesn't really work as sarcasm seems to go over their heads (same as thailand i found).

Basically the girls are not stupid and know you have 10 girls lined up behind them. You are playing them as naive but they know the real deal, most just go along with the program with no glitch.

It's just a shit test. My reply to questions like that is always "A gentleman doesn't kiss and tell". Not sure how you could dumb that down so they understand.

No need to wing for the previously posted 19 y/o college student, 2nd date bang complete, anyway, if anyone needs on the ground info about anything Davao just PM me. Again, always willing to meetup.

In other news looking at the possibilities of nurse/doctor bangs soon. Some seem conservative while others seem more eager to open up more.

Along the same vein, when setting up dates with highly interested girls, they ask if I have any "appointments" immediately before or after our dates.

They are not stupid and they KNOW the game, but are still playing along as long as you don't rub in their faces that you're meeting other girls.

Filipinas seem more jealous than other types. They look for evidence of other girls like long hairs in your bed. They look over your shoulder when texting to try to see if you're texting a girl.

It will be a good idea to disable all notifications from text, whatsapp, viber, skype, anything you use for messaging - at least just before meeting up with a girl. I can't imagine it being a good thing having a filipina seeing my phone blow up while I'm with her.

Also, maybe I should pick up a sticky roller before I leave for the phils... just to roll across my bed and pillows to pick up all the hairs. 2 minutes - done.

Don't you guys change your bedding after you bang a girl? Changing the sheets shouldn't take longer than the 2 minutes.
