^ You're banging girls on Tinder - a hook up app.
Who cares if they ever know your real age.

This is part of the reason I'm going to delete my OkCupid account. I've been on Tinder for a few weeks and I've found that it destroys OkCupid. OkCupid traffic has been drying up and it seems so slow and archaic. I understand some people are complaining the Tinder is ruined because it's so popular and it's full of women looking for relationships but at the end of the day there is a lot of traffic going to that app.
The genius of Tinder is that it eliminated the biggest issue of online dating to begin with which was the mass messages women got. It didn't make sense since Women never get that much attention in real life and the virtual world with no rules or fear it was inflated by 1000%. Online dating has always been full of men with awful pictures who spammed women's inboxes and finally Tinder eliminated this. All of those fucking idiots who ruined it for the small percentage are now being bypassed to begin with. They weren't getting anywhere with online dating to begin with so now they are no longer ruining it for everyone else. Obviously it's online dating so it's still not going to beat out your potential in real life but it's a massive improvement over the past and is a very easy way to get more numbers.
I dunno man. Every girl I've met off Tinder was way hotter in her pics than in person. I think there are hotter girls on OKC and as well, you can stand out from the unwashed masses with good messages.
I've reduced Tinder to finding girls who are DTF in the next 24-48 hours, and when that hasn't been the case I've found it to be a bigger waste of time than OKC.

That's one hell of a spike in the process of growing!
I am quite surprised how big PoF still is thought but if this Tinder spike continues it could reach PoF by the latter half of this year.
I do wonder why my Tinder is green and hard to ignite at present. I haven't met anyone from it since early December.
In the UK, Tinder has still far to go to reach PoF levels. Perhaps I should be using it, because it is a numbers game with the qualitative game coming much later.
http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=o...cmpt=q&tz=
It depends on the area. OkCupid and Tinder tend to be popular in the trendier large cities where as Pof is everywhere.
It's similar in the US as the UK. If you look at the UK map you can see exactly where people are searching for "tinder app", it's all London. It's as if the rest of England is living in the dark ages. Click on the Plenty of fish text and you can see all of England uses it. Then click on the OkCupid text and you can see once again London is on the ball since the rest of England doesn't use it at all. It's similar in the US. Take the New York City Area....Tinder and Okcupid get a lot of play and the rest of the shithole areas use Pof

I've had the opposite experience from both in person dates and just browsing the site for pics. I admit Tinder has way more bots but they are really easy to spot.
Here's the massive advantage of Tinder. I think good looking girls are much more likely to download a Tinder app then to sign up on OkCupid, fill out an entire profile and upload pictures. Then the hot girl has to deal with literally tons of messages of guys and most likely will end up deleting their account. Dating websites like Okc have a huge amount a women who delete their profiles pretty fast after the shock of lame emails coming in. There is something inherently douchey about traditional dating profiles and Tinder solves a lot of that because it uses facebook info.

Most girls I've talked to or seen their phone have 500-1000 Tinder matches. You don't think they're getting a shock of lame messages? Maybe not as bad as OKC but guaranteed she gets way more lame "DTFs?" than solid game.
I'll admit I'm a little sour on Tinder right now, because while it's providing a steady stream of girls, I am seeing my infield skills atrophy far more rapidly than it did when I was only on OKC. I've been sarging the last week, and it's been pretty rough. I'm like a zoo lion that forgot how to hunt.
I'm happy for you if you're not seeing a drop in your game, but I'm getting pretty clear messages that I have been relying on it way too much.
anyone experiencing this today? i usually get 1~2 matches every two weeks or so with mass liking but today I got matched with many. could be because
1. today is valentine's day
2. i deleted and reinstalled the app yesterday
3. i posted a topless photo
4. or i'm being a noob and this is actually normal for y'all players

If you want to cast the largest net I would say 30. Any higher than that I feel like the curve of girls 18-25 will start blocking you out of their searches due to social conditioning.
Does anyone know what Tinder's default age search range is for a woman of - say - 25 years old? I doubt women change this when they sign up.
At 35, my default age search is 25 to 40.

They definitely get plenty of lame DTFs(one girl mention it last week to me) but it can't be anywhere close as bad as OKC. It can't be by the simple fact she still has to swipe right on the guy to even get that chance to send the lame DTF to begin with. An analogy of online dating is basically imagine an alternate reality where every guy in the bar did not have an ounce of fear and basically approached every girl, even with really stupid DTF lines. Tinder would put a rule in where the girl at the bar would have to give you a IOI eye contact before opening her. While you still had to deal with a lot of competition it's not some mass flood of bullshit.
Do an experiment and post a profile of a legit good looking girl on OKC and watch the flood of emails that come in. The worst I ever seen was a fake profile on POF I made a few years ago. This was before google image reverse search so I posted a picture of a legit 9 and made the profile look believable. I shit you not within the first 5 mins I had close to 20 messages in my inbox. This really showed me why POF was at the bottom of the list. OKC isn't as bad but your still playing by the same rules.
If you're talking to a girl with that has 500+ matches Tinder matches she is probably been on the app for a while but it's still much better than 5000 guys having access to her profile in a search. Everything i've read, and from personal experience shows that women do not swipe anywhere near as much as men. I also know this as my uglier friend proved this to me as he basically couldn't get any decent matches in the same area as myself.
Also this article supports the that women are not mass swiping.

Why would Tinder make it worse. To me Tinder would be better as it's less of a time synch. You literally text with girls via the amp, you can usually get their numbers incredible fast. OKC is still on the archaic email inbox system.
Finally decided to hop on the Tinder bandwagon. I set up a special Facebook account just for that purpose, and now it looks like Facebook has disabled it.
I guess it thinks I'm a bot or spammer. Does anyone know any way around this? Do I have no choice but to give my cell number to Facebook?

To me that is a blessing not a curse. Because I can use it to demonstrate solid game to a girl who might not be interested in me just because of my looks. Or who might be interested, but filtering out dozens or hundreds of messages.
I don't think being one of 500 guys (Tinder) is much of an advantage over being 1 of 5000 (presumably OKC) guys messaging her, in and of itself. Getting a quick phone number is only an advantage if she already wants to bang you on your looks. Which is fine, but in my experience those girls are never as hot as girls I can pull using solid game, e.g. on OKC or in person.
The type of girls I'm attracted to have dozens if not hundreds of suitors online and IRL so having her number isn't nearly as critical as having a solid interaction first.
If you don't believe me go out tomorrow, make some small talk, and ask 10-20 hot girls for their phone number. You'll probably get 2-3 numbers, but not one girl will pick up when you call, and you'll be lucky to even get a response over text.

The nature of the algorithm gets stranger and stranger. On Friday and Saturday, I struggled to get more than two matches. On Sunday I got 33 matches.
I opened up a new account on Sunday morning because of the frustrations of the previous two days. Although I forgot to reduce my search distance radius, I don't think this can account for the rise in matches. One thing I have done differently than last time is to open the iTunes rating page whenever Tinder asks me to rate the app. I've also logged out when not using Tinder.

A new account meaning - delete current tinder account, make a new one with the same phone number and Facebook? Or did you make a different Facebook?
I delete my Tinder account every couple of days because matches just get cold as fuck. I don't understand why first day I do well, and afterwards I bomb.
I've tried making a new Facebook, but same deal.
Really annoying.
I also go into the Facebook settings, select "apps," and delete all the Tinder data before I make a new account, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

I wouldn't kill yourself over a fickle app. Are you even sure its the algorithm and not just the use-case demographics of girls you "Like"?
There's a lot going on here, on both a day-to-day in the week basis and a week-to-week in the month basis.

Everywhere i have used tinder there is a big upswing in matches on sunday because girls have free time then. I doubt it is the algorithm.

I am using the iPhone.
I realise that women use the app more on Sunday but the rise from a handful of matches to over 30 is quite a spike. I received a further 20 matches on Monday. These stats are well over my averages and I am receiving likes from women who didn't like me back in previous incarnations.
It takes no time to open iTunes when prompted to rate Tinder on it.
Tinder Plus launched in my country for 2,99 EUR a month. I transported myself to Bucharest where I'll be staying for the weekend (1.300 km away from my currently location). Then I liked hundreds of girls. My question is: Will I receive less matches because most girls won't have their exploration radius set to 1.300 km or is Tinder Plus displaying me to the girls like I'm in the city at the moment (only few kilometers away)?

Saw a Barstool Sports blog crossposted from reddit on how the "Dubai Tinder" is filled with nothing but dimes (read: escorts).
Currently spoofing my location there and only finding mainly average looking consultants. Most mentioning the city in the bio so I'm guessing the spoof works. Perhaps the service has already screened out my income?

This is their end-times. Even if the amount to be paid is 5$, then over 95% of women won't pay. Those 50 maximum amount of likes is ridiculous, because it cuts down potential matches by far.
Now - if only men had to pay, then it would not be so bad, because it would actually improve chances for many men. I would also launch a premium option for 100$/month or even a platinum version for 1000$/mo with a huge number of added features. Also women should see what kind of option a man has bought. Beta bucks would be back in the race.
But limiting the likes for women?! Are they fucking nuts?
Women won't be paying shit on Tinder. Those liberal gender unicorns swallowed the whole gender-is-a-social-construct myth completely. Tinder is as good as dead - the company finished the app itself.

Ah wow, so Tinder is done. Oh well. Another one will come and take their place.
I think what happened was, the creators never intended for it to be this massive movement in online dating. I said before - look at how often they update the app. Once every 3-4 months? It's just not legitimate. Apps like Facebook update every couple of weeks. It was just a simple dating app like the dozens of others that were already out there. Zoosk, some other no name ones, etc. But because most of us value simplicity, the basic swipe left for no, swipe right for yes format was great.
So it starts to gain commercial appeal, and of course that means it's going to flood the market. I have no doubt the reason most of us are suddenly complaining about matches drying up is because we are simply not being seen by the girls swiping. Too much sausage ruins everything. And this is one example of that.
Of course the other being, once it gained commercial appeal, the creators were like "quick, how can we make money off of this now?" And installed a system that will inevitably end the app. As Zel just mentioned, women are *not* going to pay for more matches. So whatever 50 men they end up swiping on, those are the men. Until she starts deleting them one by one to make room for a handful of others as she goes on.
But because a lot of girls also like opening the app and seeing match numbers in the quadruple digits - they're gonna be upset that they have to pay a premium to see that. I expect backlash from both sexes.
It's one thing to add cool, much needed features like being able to undo your swipe, or change your gps location. It's another to turn it into a shameless money grab. No one wins in that situation. Not the buyer, not the seller.
Will be an interesting next couple of months when this shit starts rolling out.
