Are there any strategies such as these that can be used in a game context? I can't think of any off hand, but if there were, it could be pretty powerful.

A lot of the early PUA routines were based on sales techniques. Not being in sales the only book I've read that's relevant is the seminal "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion". One of the more powerful and less discussed tools from that book was commitment and consistency, an excellent way to spin the hamster in your favor so to speak.

Some classics like Swinggcat's 10 second kiss close (for whatever that's worth) were based on it - “Are you adventurous? Are you spontaneous? If you were in kissing school, what grade would your kissing teacher give you?” (get her answer) “Let’s find out.” (kiss her).

Small hurdles, who doesn't want to think of themselves as adventurous and spontaneous lock her into a future behavior or make her appear inconsistent with past statements. More subtly, a guy can reinforce that behavior through a complement after she tells some little story, "Wow, you seem pretty spontaneous and adventurous. I really like that in a girl", smile, kino, etc.

Others from the book like social proof and scarcity (abundance mentality) are more obvious. Hopefully some sales guys can chime in with more.

Just got out of a 2 year relationship.
