Here is my patented guide to screening out prostitutes. If you want to identify prostitutes so that you can run shoring game I imagine you will need to adjust this somewhat. I don't really know since my goal is to completely avoid prostitutes, not to shore.

It is easiest to screen out prostitutes when you meet them in person.
1) Ask her what her job is. If she is unemployed (and not embarrassed about it) or a "model" (and obviously not a real model) she is probably a prostitute.
2) Ask her if she thinks another girl is a prostitute and she can tell if a girl is a prostitute. If she is not a prostitute she will typically make sure to say something nasty about prostitutes.

I've just been in Manila and El Nido and am heading to Cebu this afternoon. Here's my insight so far...

Manila is just as crazy as you'd expect. It's really quite a horrible place but if you're not too bothered about somewhere being "nice", you'll love it. Then again, if the girls weren't so great and abundant then I don't really think it would have anything going for it.

It's been said on here before but I didn't realise quite what a big deal it is... logistics are so so important. It's very difficult and time consuming to get around the city so you've got to be right next to where you want to spend most of your time.

The people in Manila hate to walk anywhere too (both because they just don't like walking and because it's dangerous) and will look at you like you're crazy if you even suggest walking somewhere that is 10 minutes away (although this did work in my favour once when I told a girl I was going to walk home from hers and she was almost crying at the prospect of me walking instead of getting a taxi so made me stay the night with her haha).

If you're wanting to go on lots of dates, I'd say get a hotel or condo right next to a mall and have the girls meet you there. Even if they're coming straight to your place, they'll know where the mall is so feel more comfortable. I really don't like malls and hate to go half way around the world just to go to malls but it is by far the easiest option. If anyone else has any better date ideas though, I'd love to hear them.

As I said, it's important to stay in the area you want to spend most of your time in so here are my thoughts on the areas I stayed in or spent a decent amount of time in. I didn't go out clubbing at all and all the girls I met from Tinder or just in shops etc.

Malate: probably my favourite location. Lots of universities so lots of university girls. Lots of dodgy people trying to sell you things and scam you but the area is so busy that it's not as dangerous as it seems. Rizal park is a nice date location. Lots of funny things will happen to you if you're staying there too and you'll meet some crazy people.

The Fort: ALL the girls I spoke to about clubbing said they only went clubbing in the fort so if you want to party or do nightgame, stay here. The rich girls go there regularly and the poor girls will save up for months to have a night out there instead of just going for a night out in cheap places.

I only went in the day however and It is a strange place. Not strange in the way that there is craziness everywhere else in Manila, but that it feels like a soulless American city. If you're American, you probably wouldn't mind but if you're European, I don't think you'd really like it. It's difficult to explain bu it just feels so fake. If you want to live like you would in the West, stay here but then again if you want to live like you would in the West, Western cites are 10x better than Manila.

Makati: Basically the central place and the main business district. It's like a cross between Makati and Malate, parts of it feel very American but it's still quite dodgy, especially at night. In Malate, there are a lot of crazy people but it's busy so if someone did something bad you, there would be lots of people there to see it whereas there are less people out in Makati so if someone was to do something bad to you, nobody would know.

Based on my few days, if you're 23+, Makati is probably the best, if you're college aged, Malate is probably the best and if you've got a lot of money and like to be in fancy places, the Fort is the best.

I'll write up on El Nido later.

One cool date idea would be to go to Intramuros if you like history. I stayed in Makati which is a bit further but Malate is right near it (so go out on a Sunday afternoon to avoid traffic).

I did this with a girl on a Sunday afternoon. She was pretty educated and knowledgeable about the history of her nation (unlike most American girls). We walked around the walled city, taking pictures, eating in a cafe, and then we went to Fort Santiago which is within Intramuros and watched a cultural show where the audience can participate in at the end.

It is certainly better than going to malls (which I did for most of my dates as well). Plus, you get to learn about the history of the Philippines and Jose Rizal (the greatest hero of the Philippines). It is educational, you can learn to appreciate more about the history and culture of the Philippines.

Was chatting earlier today with a girl in MNL and she told me about the recent Miss Philippines Earth show. I had to see it, so looked for it on youtube and watched it. Some very pretty girls in there. I really like the exotic look as well as accent of the Pinays girls.

My guess is that to get these kinds of girls, you'd need to have a strong local social circle. Preferably among the upper middle class circles. These girls won't be found online on dating sites. They are way too concerned about their reputation and won't go with the transient one or 2 weeker or even a foreigner who vacations there. He has to have things going for him. Have a real reason to be there. Either work or a biz. And money.

El Nido

I arrived in Puerto Princesa and got a minibus straight up to El Nido which took 6 hours (including stops for lunch at a cafe and taking photos of a view). There are a load of companies that run minibuses and they go pretty much all day, all costing 500PHP. If you read about it online, it says the ride is really bumpy and uncomfortable but that is not the case anymore... there is a decent road nearly all the way.

I was traveling solo and everyone else on the minibus was couples. It would definitely be a great place to take a girl but if you're in Manila and want somewhere to unwind and let down your guard for a bit but can only go alone, don't let that put you off.

It's not a place to go to get girls (they are mostly quite ugly anyway) but I wasn't expecting it to be and wasn't trying although I did accidentally get laid on my last night there with the hottest girl I saw on the whole island.

There are no ATMs so get cash at the airport in Puerto Princesa. There are lots of sites to see, tours to go on etc but I just rented a motorbike and drove aimlessly through the jungle for a couple of days and it's such a beautiful area that you can't really go wrong wherever you go. Plenty of great beaches that won't have even one other person on them that you'll stumble across. There is also only electricity for certain hours during the day.

The people here are all really friendly and aren't trying to sell you something, scam you or rob you. They also don't seem to really notice or care that you're foreign and don't seem to really realise that there is a world beyond Palawan which is makes it feel quite nice. It's very safe and I left my wallet and phone on the beach whilst going for a swim a few times and they were fine. There is also a much higher concentration of white people here than anywhere else I've seen in the Philippines, mainly mid 20s hippies.

There are some nice bars along the beach with live music and beers cost about 60php.

My "hotel" cost 700php/night and most were that price or slightly more. The building had only been half built and didn't have an upstairs, only the frame, I was the only person staying there, the people that worked there all slept on the floor in the corridor at night, I found a lizard under my bed one night and the toilet didn't flush but that all seemed quite normal there.

I've probably missed out a lot of things so if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

I hop in his male friend's tricycle and it's me, the 2 filipino guys, a fat girl and the birthday girl, who is the most beautiful girl I'd seen so far in the jungle. We go to an empty 24 hour bar and by this point, the fat girl is passed out the tricycle. The kid who invited me along passes out on the table and none of us can wake him up. Meanwhile, me and the beauty are sneaking in little kisses when nobody is looking. The guy who's tricycle it is says he's going home so I walk the beauty down to the beach and we make out a bit, then go back to mine and fuck all night and morning. I definitely agree, I went there once and it's really nice and once you're inside the park that's the museum part, that's probably the only relaxed place I found in the whole of Manila. Rizal Park is nice too, especially at night, but you'll still be constantly harrased by beggar kids, people trying to sell you rugs and toys, school trips who've never seen a white person before etc and any nice moment you're having is likely to get killed.

I'm in Cebu right now and it seems like quite a shitty place. Not like Manila where it's so shitty that it's quite crazy and interesting and the shittiness is actually quite endearing but just shitty enough to be shit. Anyone got any advice on nice places to go here? Or anyone here right now want to go out in the nightlife?

Manila Condos: Those are both good sites to check. I would also try bargaining with landlords. Listed prices are generally negotiable.

I would check Craigslist as well. I found my fort condo there. I looked at 20 places in the Fort and this was the best place for the best price.

You can also check some other sites like Rent Bonifacio, but they of course are for the Fort and require longer leases.

Because you're just doing 3 months your options will be more limited. Most owners/companies want 6 months minimum.

Cebu: I would check out Bohol if you get sick of Cebu. I think Cebu is a shitty place to live as well but some like it. The best thing about Cebu is it's close to places like Camotes, Bohol, Malapascua, etc. Grab a hot island babe and go explore some islands.

For city life in the Philippines nothing compares to Manila.

I found Camotes and Bohol very ordinary, really only good for 2 days. Alona beach pics on google are photoshoped. I like Cebu though, the people are much nicer than Manila but it gets boring faster, not that big of a city really. Anyone drive past the new SM Seaside mall they are building? It's fucking HUGGEEE. Get the feeling Cebu is going to be a whole lot bigger in 15 years.

Great post bro! I was in Palawan last month and did tons of diving! I stayed at Hotel Centro and loved it. Only regret was not making it out to El Nido as many people suggested. Tough when you have a few days on such a beautiful Island!

You mean Siargao? I wanted to check it out but didn't have enough time. Apparently they have some great surfing waves out there.

I've researched it some, Chaos - surfing area. There were some FC girls who were quite attractive I chatted with while in Cebu who lived there. Its a bit confusing as there are two areas, one is Surigao City, which is part of north Mindinao and includes some near-by islands, and then there is the island of Siargao just to the east. To me, they sounded the exact same in conversation.

Yes, I've spent about 3 weeks there. It's my favorite spot in the Philippines that I've been to so far.

For an experienced surfer it offers fantastic, at times, heavy waves (all reef, no beach break), cheap accommodation and motos, and easy access to break via boats or roads.

I think it would still be fun to visit if you don't surf, but could get boring. I don't know.

It's certainly not the best place to learn how to surf. I would suggest a beach break, but there are a couple inside reefs spots that offer mellow reform waves.

However, the best season there is over for the year. That would be Aug-Nov when the offshore winds blow and it's not so rainy plus the best typhoon swells come (storms swing north but the island gets the goods).

It's the rain season down there now. There are still lots of waves, but it's junkier and can rain for days on end. Basically, to take a surf trip there now is rolling the dice. Could be epic, or rain straight for days on end.

If you want more info let me know. I have friends that have great places to stay that live there.

Yes Cebu is at the worse stage of polluting traffic due to new economic activity, but before the ystraighten out car exhaust control. If there's one area you want forceful government intervention in people's lives, it in forcing them to fix or link their belching, miserable vehicles that are literally killing everyone.

I just bought a motorcycle because I desperately want to get out of the cities. After the big bad nanny state in california gave me just about perfect fucking air for the last 1o years it is impossible for me to enjoy Cebu or Manila-- everything smells like exhaust all the time unless you are in a building with aircon and some kind of filtration. My singing voice has declined in the last three months I've been here.

I got a Honda 110 CC new for about $1200, if anybody wants to learn about getting your Philippines driver's license and vehicle registration details for new vehicles. please PM me and I can tell you more.

I am probably willing to rent it out in Cebu to any visitors with a motorcycle license, it's not an automatic so I don't want to rent to people who don't have extensive riding experience.

These rigs get almost incredible mileage, at least 80 MPG so it is pretty cheap to cruise around. I was told to go down to Moalboal which is South of Cebu along the coastline.

There are also RoRo ferries where you can get on with your motorbike and go to Cagayan, or Manila ( or some port near there). Manila is so large, congested and polluted I don't know if I can deal with driving there but Cebu is not that bad as Filipinos don't seem to get road rage and don't really drive that fast. If you set it up right I think some ferries have nice aircon rooms and you stay on overnight and it costs about the same as flying without all the paranoid shit at airports.

In fact, driving here in the glacially slow traffic has made me admire them because they see the simple fact that getting angry doesn't get you anywhere faster. It's amazing in a developed country like the US people get so upset about how bad a lot of drivers are . What good does getting angry do? You think they're going to drive better because you honk your horn? No, you're just punishing yourself because someone else is stupid lol.

I have seen ads for little houses, nice concrete construction tiny 2 story houses, out at the edge of Cebu for only $300 per month. I'm not interested in "nightlife" ( alcohol) or notches, want a quiet place to work on music and have a girlfriend or wife live-in. If you drive into the congested areas in the evening it's not too bad.

About Palawan-- there are still pretty cheap condos there, I don't know how long it will last, I think there is basically no pollution there.

From my experience, it's Viber.

Normal sms texting, then Facebook messenger, then skype, then Viber. Skype isn't really used for quick meet ups though. Kakao is used a little bit too. It's not like thailand where everyone just uses line and it's annoying. One text is one peso, i think.

Quite a few of these girls don't have android phones so no apps (plus the shitty internet over there), only facebook which is free but super slow.

I know a local who works for one of the big messaging apps and she told me about their market research. It coincided with my experience nearly exactly as well as Bigbait's. That is, from upper class to lower class it went something like this (I can’t remember exactly):

Viber
Facebook
Skype (phone app)
line
wechat
text

With a few notable exceptions, the hottest girls I know use Whatsapp, but Viber is far more popular. Viber has a real presence here and they offer deals with local phone companies for free messaging.

When I message or meet a girl I always say “what’s your Whatsapp/Viber”.

Kabal, you’ll need to use both in my opinion plus local text when the girl doesn't have ‘load’ or data outside of coffee shops and her house.

Like Bigbait said, if a girl doesn't have those you're likely (there are exceptions) dealing with a lower class girl.
