I don't know, but I've noticed a lot of people in the last year(s) asking for snuff videos on forums and social media. Beheadings and worse, then discuss it like it is nothing. We should put together a guide for younger guys spelling out what women in various professions are like and what kind of guys they gravitate towards. This is not only true for women in the working world, but when you're in college and you notice what women are majoring in.

Now this woman might have been perfectly fine. The problem is that the guy had huge doubts about the marriage, but for whatever reason - her influence, social pressures, friends - he went through with it despite the doubts. But the doubts came out in an ugly way under the influence of alcohol.

The problem was this guy did not have the strength to defer marriage. Actually no reason to get married to an American woman at that age. You might get married to a woman overseas for visa purposes, and only if you were completely comfortable with her.

Really, if you're an average guy, you're just schlubbing along and you're in a "relationship" with a kinda-hot woman and you know that "relationships" are "expected" to "progress" to marriage, and she's pushing you in that direction, and maybe even your friends, co-workers, and family. You have doubts but aren't sure you'll ever be with anyone that hot again if you drop her and haven't considered other options like going to Russia or Thailand, but you still have huge doubts and you're not happy riding that train to marriage. I can second this my mother is a school teacher so were my maternal grandparents and also my aunt(mom's younger sister) also went to school with a lot of girls who just last year graduated to become school teachers.

I think this is very simple, and I'm making no judgment on this either way.

She was attracted to the idea of a doctor. Money can be made in many other ways these days. Law, finance, real estate.

But nothing is still as sure as a bet as being a doctor. And anesthesiologist is one of the higher paying fields.

What does he get from a 50 year old? Well, she looks presentable for her age and she's a nurse, so she's used to being around medical personnel.

In other words, in theory, he can take her to events and she knows how to act right. This has been discussed before, but it can be hard to find someone who knows how to behave in public. Chances are he had gatherings with other couples, most likely doctors and their spouses, and was always the single guy. As someone in their late 30s, sometimes it's nice to have someone with you when a lot of your social life is steering away from the bar scene and more towards dinners and parties.

So my guess is at first they probably worked as a couple. But once the honeymoon period ended, the demons came out.

Side note: Not to sound like a dick, but the article states that they lived in a "mansion". The picture in the article doesn't really say mansion to me. But I don't live in one so who am I to say.

EDIT: And I agree re teachers and nurses.

In my 20s I was consistently banging an elementary school teacher. It would be kinda fun to see her interact whenever we'd run into her students and their parents. With time it actually appears that, per that court ruling, he was, indeed, right. She (or her estate rather) didn't get her hands on his money.

The case is one where her estate (and her son) are trying to get their hands on his life insurance policy. The court in this case ruled against them and threw her estate's case out.
