Gents, I finally have a great idea for an internet business that I want to try. This is my first foray into actually starting a website, blog, and podcast to actually make money.

I am technically savy, but I would like some recommendations from you guys on the following:

1. Web hosting
2. Blog software and or hosting
3 Podcast software and or hosting
4 Templates or quick site builds. I have experience coding, but I don't want to build this thing from the ground up at this point. I would rather customize an industry standard.

I know there are multiple threads on this subject, but some if the information is spread out a bit and hard to aggregate.


Also, if anyone is interesting in professionally consulting with me, I am willing to pay for expert advice. Please PM if interested.

1. Hostgator - Cheap, great interface, never had a single technical issue with them, ever.
2. Wordpress - Makes blogging and web design easy.
I'll skip 3, since I don't podcast.
4. Templates - check out wordpress themes. Lotta free ones, but if you're serious, it's worth dropping some money for a paid one. All are very easy to use and require no programming skill.

Manosphere.com has a good "how to start a blog guide." Check it out.

2. For blogging, wordpress is number 1
3. Not sure
4. Wordpress 'Thesis' theme.

Itunes or sound cloud can be used for a podcast.

1. WPEngine if you're running Wordpress, be careful of shared hosting. It can be a big pain in the ass if you get hacked to get help among other thing.
2. Wordpress if blog or site, Shopify if webshop.
3. No clue.
4. Themeforest.net - cheap, huge inventory
