Just want to add a few things to this thread, from being on this app 2 months now...

1) Tinder tends to really shine when you're traveling. I was in NY for business and swiped right to a few hundred girls the minute I arrived. Got a few matches pretty quickly, and immediately scheduled meetups. I believe there are a few factors going on here, the 'out of towner effect' and an increased sense of urgency.

2) Related to the above, geographical location is huge. Some guys are posting they don't get many matches, but this can be based on the fact that not many users are in your area. In NY, I was getting 3-4x as many matches as where I'm from, simply because there are more single women and tinder users.

3) Flake/nonresponse rate is extremely high. With mainly a picture, there's nearly zero investment on both sides. Even matches don't reply. The nature of the app makes it like text messaging. While in regular online dating you can gauge a girls interest by the length of her reply, on tinder longer replies basically don't exist.

4) Tinder girls are slutty. Despite the drawbacks if you manage to get a girl out, the chances of sex are higher than a traditional dating site.

5) If you're an older guy, set your age as young as believable. Thing is younger girls may have their settings to guys 18-25. If you're 30 you're probably shit out of luck and your profile won't even be on their radar.

6) Younger/hotter girls are still more elusive. I've gotten several college girls as matches. They seem to respond well to my text game, but getting them out has proven challenging.

When I've spoofed my GPS to Mexico, I got way more matches than anywhere in the USA. And much higher quality matches. the best looking match I had in Mexico was an 8. The best match I get in the USA is a 6. I see myself spending more time in Mexico in coming years.

Can anyone tell me which asian cities use tinder? So far HK,Seoul,Osaka seem to have a few girls but not sure of other cities...

We discussed this before, but I travel a lot and Tinder favors you if you are out of your normal geographic range.
It shows you as a "new user" in that geographic location, ie: your profile comes in the first batch for a lot of girls.

The first thing I do when I arrive somewhere is open up tinder and let it rest a bit. A few hours later, the first 10-15 girls I like are matches.

Did we figure out a way to change your GPS location with the iPhone?

When i went abroad it kept showing me matches from home so I gave up. Brisey had the same issue

So are you looking for something casual or serious ?

Tinder caches users. You should've swipped through the 20-40 users who were still in your local cache and it would've refreshed.

If anyone of you tinder in southern california....specifically Orange County...I've ran across quite a few girls who are "sober" "detox" or "rehab" apparently there was a recent article on the large amount rehab facilities near Huntington and Newport. Has anyone else had this experience ?

I've met other recovery chicks from rich families. It is a good safe place to keep rich party girls away from the scene by their parents. I still don't think it is enough of a plus about OC to be significant at all.

Yeah i just landed this new girls number, she's from portland, came down here to rehab.

Another one came from Florida.

OC isn't a plus to me, i noticed I get the most flakes from there, so many thirsty females.

WTF? Is Tinder trying to push dudes to experiment by doing this? Is the gay lobby so powerful and in control that even Tinder is now on the bandwagon or am I being paranoid? This happened to me in several countries where I showed up and used the app...so it was not an anomaly. Anyone else seeing this too?

I've seen this too. I think if someone has left their fb open and had their gender changed to female it will show them on tinder as female too? That's what I've been assuming anyway...

Met up with TeddyKGB this past weekend in Seattle and he shared with me a great tip on just liking everyone regardless of what they look like. Then, when matches come through, you filter all of the undesirables. Hilarious demonstration ensued where he would just constantly tap the like button without looking down at the screen during a five minute conversation.

Maybe this is obvious for you guys, but I'm new to the app.
