@MidniteSpecial: It becomes easy to spot the spam after playing with it a while. I have also sold plenty of stuff on CL also and it becomes fairly predictable.

I used to have a similar kind of "problem" of near continuous erections in my 20s.. he he he.. and the problem kind of faded away through the years.. and now in my 40s, the problem has gone away to a much greater extent .... There are major disadvantages of replying to ads in my opinion:

1. Competition, as JGJ pointed out. And those guys aren't usually ones you want to associate yourself with.
2. Making women come to you is the stronger dynamic.
3. Most of the women on Craigslist are lurkers and will never post ads.
4, 5, and 6: Much more time consuming.

@blkgatsby: To get your ad to stick, renew the ad every day or two. I also mentioned earlier in the thread that I've had women respond to my ad after it had been push a couple pages back.

Anyway what I've seen from replying is that 80%+ of the time you aren't getting a reply. I target anything that sounds like a decent prospect and doesn't sound fake in the sections (MW4M, W4M)

This is s bit more expensive, and risky to tell the truth, than the ads previously described but I had a great experience and notched the UK flag!
