I flaked out on a Tinder girl tonight. I went to pick her up at her place but it was almost a slum on the outskirts of the city (I happen to live 4 miles away from her). I felt bad but I feared for my safety and backed down. She was at most a 7 anyway.

This app is dead. Too many fake profiles now.

In the past 2 days I've gotten 3 unsolicited numbers!

I was bombarded with fake profiles. Deleted the app. A total waste.

I've seen a few fake profiles, but they are easy to spot. Usually some girl with other pics linking to another website.

So far I'm impressed. Probably a matter time before this app becomes flooded with thirsty mofos and goes down hill. I followed up the bang on Friday night, with another meetup on Saturday. Girl was hot. I didn't get laid just a makeout at the end of the date, but she seems down if I pursue it.

I've also noticed that the more I contact girls on the app, the more girls I can swipe. I got the 'nobody was around me' thing, then I sent a restart message to a girl who I haven't from in a few days, and boom all of sudden more girls appeared.

I am having the opposite experience. i had nothing for a while on tinder(i basically quit to focus on tinder)but now the past week things have really picked up on tinder(4 numbers, 4 dates, of which 3 flaked or cancelled, the 4th is this evening)

Have had decent luck with HotorNot (have two legit prospects at the moment) as far as quality is concerned.
I'll be checking out Tinder soon - the spike in fake accounts has kept me away but I suppose it doesn't hurt to try.

I tried uninstalling the app then reinstalling but it didn't wipe out my matches or give me any new faces, is there some other way to do a reboot and start from scratch?(i guess make a new facebook?)

uninstalling the app won't do it. You have to delete your Tinder account through the app. Just tap on settings, then delete account.

When trying to change my age, I had to go so far as deleting the app's profile in facebook as well, then waiting over a day.

Tinder is the shit. Especially when you go to another city for work or something....

I just deleted my account, switched my main profile pic, and started from scratch.

Got totally different matches immediately even girls who I've swiped previously. This leads me to believe that most girls don't even bother to look at your other pics. This could be a simple strategy of recycling through old leads. Put up a new pic and fire away.

In the first week I got 20 or so matches, met up with 2, and banged 1. Had a bunch of tinder conversations, but most disappeared after a few back and forth messages or never responded. I decided to cut them loose and start over. Got more digits to add to my phone.

The fake accounts don't seem to get banned, but are easy to spot. They will message you first and all say the same things. Something about getting out of the shower and making them squirt. Even if you type back gibberish they'll respond. The other giveaway is that the bots have been nearly instant matches.

I've always known that online dating you have to act fast, but I'm finding that Tinder is even more instant. The girls I met up with I got the digits quick and got them out within a few days. I believe for Tinder, you need to build a sense of urgency and get the girls out that night, that's the ideal. With other dating sites I've been on, there were sometimes days of going back and forth with messages. I think in the big cities guys can kill it with this app. For me I have to search within a large radius, and drive to meet these girls. If you have a large population of single chicks within a small radius(NYC for example) it should be gold.

I haven't had any luck with Tinder yet, wonder if there's a way to get your pictures rated. Hot or not? still around??

it's a facebook app. It looks like more next level attention whoring like instagram. i didn't spend more than a few minutes on it though.

I've been on Tinder for about 2 months, have 2 new notches from it alone. The flake rate seems extremely high, but the quality of girls is better than any other app, by far. Use your best pictures, I wouldn't recommend more than 3. Quick, short, witty description of yourself, if any at all. If you are over 30, lie about your age (fake Facebook profile).

I just deleted my account on tinder as I couldn't get a change of location I needed so I reset it up and its taking ages on a page saying finding people near you with my fb profile pic its been around 20 minutes.
Is this normal?

I was down in Dallas the other week. Got this cute Indian chick on tinder to meet up with me while I was out.

Like an hour or two into the date I went to the bathroom and she bailed.

I guess that is what you expect from an Indian.

Deleted the app this week. My girlfriend's sister uses this all the time for validation, and if she found my profile there, I would be in for a lot of shit.

I've used Tinder for about 4 or 5 months here in Brazil. Many matches, many numbers, but did not manage to get a single meetup.

Rationally speaking, this app was shit for me: I spent a lot of time on it, and no concrete results. But there are definitely hot girls on Tinder and it is temptative to go back once the situation cools down. We'll see.

Pretty good study that was done with Tinder. They made fake profiles and wrote a script that automated the process of right-swiping girls. They used both white and Asian photos, some of the guys models. What they found is that even the male models had pretty low conversion ratios:

Don't feel too bad if you aren't killing it on Tinder. A cute girl on there still gets like 10x as much attention as a male model. Just like any dating site, women are simply swamped with attention and wouldn't have the time to date all the guys hitting them even if they wanted to. Just another seller's market. They have the concrete numbers to show for it.

Not sure anyone else had this, but I had ACTUALLY NOT FAT girls message me on valentine's day. I was laughing my ass off as I was getting matched with everyone on the way to a bar.

One of them was a bot, made me annoyed though. Have another interested one, going to try and phone number grab tomorrow.

Great analysis. This is why real life still reigns. Higher barrier to entry. 99% of guys will not speak to a cute girl if they don't know her in real life, but it's easy as hell to like or send an email. These are apps are fun to get some hookups, but the conversion rate is extremely low.
