Had another OK cupid date last night. I was to meet her at a coffee shop, but it turned out to be closed for renovation. Now that I think about it, my buddy was still there so I think in talking to him she was standing around and that's why the short guy opened her. I was meaning approaching, actually meeting a girl for the first time, but it holds for this too. Exactly right, too - no longer than 45 minutes, preferably more around 25-30 minutes. Enough time for a decent conversation that still wants to be continued (assuming a good conversationalist).
