How Important Are Business Cards
Hey, I want to ask this question to the players on here.... In your opinion, would getting some business card (even if you don't have a business) to pass out to different girls you come in contact with be a wise investment? I would think that they would help with day game, since you can quickly give a girl your information, without taking up much of her time. Also, I'm assuming they would help with guys that are more shy, since it's quick and easy. Plus, it's certainly more organized than writing your name and number down on a napkin. lol. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

RE: How Important Are Business Cards
They are alright, but I usually try for the number right on the spot. In my experience, most won't call if you give them a card. Why? Keep in mind, most of them have boyfriends or husbands, so they'll throw the card away. they can, however, easily add you to fb or text you.

If you do give them your business card, make sure the email on the card is linked to your facebook account. Tell them to "add you on facebook" and that's your fb email. That has worked somewhat for me, but I think overall cards can be used to build status, but aren't good for any number closes or hookups.

Yes, i've heard differing opinions on facebook. Mine works for me because it is social proof, lots of friends, good pics, good career. It is a status builder.

I do agree with some posters here who claim that it "takes away the mystery".

I do not do or advocate business card game; it seems try hard and it's what every other guy does, but above all else; I don't need ten girls calling me at the office, trust me, your boss won't like it.

RE: How Important Are Business Cards
Well, nothing is 100% I just figured that it would be a way to at least take a shot at someone whom you might otherwise consider too busy to talk to. For instance, if a girl is at the gas station, she's obviously on her way somewhere. It might be easier, and less time consuming for her, for you to introduce yourself quickly and give her your card. My cards have my cell on there, so they shouldn't be calling my job. lol. I could've put my e-mail for the shy girls or the ones that don't like to talk on the phone, but with text nowadays a girl can just hit you up that way. Also, I've always been the type to give me number, rather than take a girl's number. SO many girls for some odd reason give guys' their numbers, even when they aren't really interested! Yes, I have convinced girls who initially weren't interested into going out with me after several phone calls, but it's more work than I'd like and doesn't always lead to success. On the other hand, if a girl calls you, at least you're 100% certain she's interested.

I don't support it either. Unless you're like Cupcake, who works in a situation where he sometimes only has seconds-long windows to talk to girls--and has scant other options in these settings--I think there are at least three solid reasons to forget the idea of business cards:

1. It Puts Her in Control of the Contact
Think back: what percentage of girls to whom you've given your number have actually called you? Even if some have, I'm sure that number is considerably lower that the ones from whom you've received numbers. It sets the wrong tone from the beginning: she's the one controlling the situation.

2. It Makes You Seem Semi-Corporate and Lame
What are you a real-estate agent? Unless you want a girl to think of you like she thinks of a guy selling aluminum siding, you're better off using old-school player tactics. At best, it makes you seem like a professional player (something a girl wants to only suspect, in order confirm your pre-selection, not know for sure). At worst, it makes you seem like you don't have the balls to do things the hard way. Lose-lose.

3. It Doesn't Add Any Cachet
Unless your business card says "Senior VP of Operations of Google," and the girl you're hollering at is a gold-digging status whore, a business card is going to be a neutral at best. She knows getting a business card is as easy as going to VistaPrint. So as soon as your card is missing some plain-as-day indicator of status, she's going to assume you don't have any.

RE: How Important Are Business Cards
Good question.

I don't even have a biz card right now. Mysterious factor.

I have thought about getting some "dummy cards" with an alias though.

Handing out your real biz card 9/10 is an airball I think.

Here is one good situation for biz cards:

When you have more girls than you can deal with, and only want to work off "hot leads" ie girls that call you. It is this exact reason why I have thought about getting some.

What are your guys thoughts about "personal cards" ie card with name and number?

Kind of old-school smooth.

I like the idea of a card that says nothing but maybe: "Mr. Big" or whatever else you want to call yourself.

... with a cool font of course. No number or anything.

I have a pretty solid and heavy-hitting genuine business card. I never hand it out to girls. I tell them as much.

Why? Because business card are for people I do business with. The people that bring revenue.

RE: How Important Are Business Cards
I don't think I've ever gotten a call from a chick I gave a card to. And I have a fairly prestigious profession. Not millionaire level but respectable.

I've even heard ( or read on forums) [American] chicks complain about guys giving them business cards all the time, and no one asking them out.

They really want/need for their vanity's sake you to make the first overt move-- deniability etc, who knows.

I never tried the personal, non-professional card idea though.

But basically anything where she has to act and take responsibility for changing her life-- forget it in the US unless your biz card shows you miles above her in status, so her childlike mind can immediately fantasize about the house or the boat or the ritzy vacations in Italy or whatever.

Without her doing any significant work, of course. Just because she's special.

Damn! I would've thought more people would be in agreement with the idea. Well, speaking for myself, I find it easier to approach a girl, give her a quick introduction and a card, rather than trying to conjure up a conversation while she's looking over the hair dye at Walgreens. For instance, I gave a hot red head my card the yesterday in Frisco at the Riteaid on Polk street, while she was looking over hair dye. Lol. Mind you, this was a girl that I would've normally let walk past because she appeared busy. True, I probably won't hear from her but at least now I have a 10% chance versus 0. Also, I think it can set you up for the 'delayed reaction effect,' where a girl, who initially wasn't interested, has time to think about it, and refers back to your card later.

RE: How Important Are Business Cards
One other thing... I'm noticing a some guys mentioning that women aren't really interested in or turned on by corporate guys. Don't get me wrong, I definitely don't want a girl to like me ONLY because of my job, but I do feel that being gainfully employeed is still something most women of class seek out, especially in this economy! Yes, I know the ghetto trend of hoodrats, trailer rats and ratones de barrio, dating guys fresh out of prison or the cute guy who works at coldstone ice cream and all of that, but I think some of us maybe be taking the concept that women aren't interested in a guy who can provide a bit too far. At the end of the day, a man who can provide never goes out of style. At least not for any woman any man in his right mind would want to marry.

Seems like a very beta thing to do. "Here take this card, I'm hoping you'll be impressed by my office cubicle monkey job! By the way, you need to call me because I'm too much of a pussy to make the first move." Skip the business cards and get her number, or better yet take her home the same night.

Could be a good prop if you made it into a joke though, like Gmac's idea of putting "Mr. Big" in a sick font with no number or anything else on it. I bet that would get a laugh.

Yeah well women don't generally like business cards, period. So, if you're going to do it, stand out some how. i.e. a Funny/Mysterious card.

"trying to conjure up a conversation" = Game

I wouldn't use easiness as an indicator of whether you should do something in game. It's reasonably easy to rent out a billboard saying: "Call this Number If You Want Some Cock and You're Cute." I doubt you'd get very many female responses (and the ones you did get would be overweight and/or old).

My advice: Game or don't game. Don't half-ass it and expect results. Ditch the cards. Unless, that is, you use an old-school player trick my older homie used to use back in the days before everyone had cell phones. It's gimmicky--and I probably wouldn't do it regularly--but it still beats straight-up business cards.

He would keep little, torn-up pieces of paper in his pocket, with this pre-handwritten on them:

NAME: ____________________________________

PHONE: ( ) ______ - __________

DESCRIPTION: ______________________________

He'd holler at chicks, eventually hand them one of the little sheets with a pen, and would keep spitting his game. Girls would giggle, fill out the sheet, and he would continue to escalate. This guy laid down some major pipe back in the 90s, though I must add that this--and his game generally--only worked on a certain type of chick.

Although I agree it's impersonal and Beta, I more so hold the belief that ANYTHING is better than NOTHING.

Even if it doesn't work ( none ever call), you'll be moving closer to her than you would have if you just took a look and moved on, maybe you can learn to judge reactions better etc.

It may desensitize you to possible rejection so you start making a real move-- where it's harder for her to say no than to give you her number.

I guess the only times when I have used business is when I am traveling and genuinely need something to write on. Even thats becoming less and less with the cell number exchange.

I prefer not letting people know where I work or even more contact info than necessary.

Here's another thought:

I knew a guy who was a professional opera singer and carried around business cards with just a dramatic-looking picture of him covering one entire side of the card and his name and phone number on the other. The corny look on his face--and the simplicity of his marketing--was so fucking priceless that I laughed for like 10 straight minutes when I saw it for the first time. His intention wasn't game-related but, at the time, I took note of his strategy's potential for game purposes. Something like that could work, so long as you're careful not to be too much of the entertainment clown rather than a sack partner.

Another alternative that comes to mind as I write this is an appointment-style card, like the ones they give to old people at the doctor's office so they don't forget their next visit. Set an insta-date with the girl and mark up her card so she doesn't flake.

Both of these are gimmicks, and I'm not a big advocate for them. But if you must use one, make it good one.

I guess maybe I'm not explaining myself right, because that's exactly the point I was trying to make. It's better than nothing! And I do feel that you will get a small percentageof interest. So, as long as you only give your card to the girls you actually consider to be 7's and better, even if you only get 2 calls a year, you've added to the team. Plus, just the approach can also lead to further conversation. Lastly, I think they help for girls that you've already have a conversation going with. You can give her your card when you're about to leave.

I think cougars might appreciate the card move more than younger ones. Younger chicas are much more about the quick phone number exchange. The card move definitely sets you apart and when done right, is very classy. My best responses have been in the 32-35 range.

What's wrong with this is that you're expecting her to follow through with what you're giving her -- I'm quite certain women lack the logistical wiring men have (as part of their wiring to filter out guys who can't make plans), they don't want to call you to make plans after first meeting, it's for you to do this.

Who said anything about making plans?? Lets face it, even if she does contact you, it will most likely be in the form of a text. I'm not expecting her to make plans, I'm expecting her to test "Hi, this is Monique, you gave me your card at Popeyes chicken. What's up?" lol. Nothing more and nothing less. As far as using cards to game 35-40 year old, nothing wrong with that, in my opinion!

Just trying to help you optimize your game. Nothing wrong with older women.

Also regarding text game, you know you're dealing with an older lady when she sends you a (-: instead of Smile
