I'm a believer in business cards. They can come in handy, even if they aren't professional cards. I have personal cards, with JUST my name on the front. That's it. In case your phone number or email changes, you don't need new cards. I think it's smooth. Pick a masculine font, and always have a pen - it's weak to have to scramble for one when you need it. Write your number or email on the back, but I don't Facebook randoms - I have to be actual friends with you first before I let you into my world that way. And even then I might not.

I agree with cards having value. Yes, for some it might be a crutch, but what's wrong with a crutch helping you walk until you can walk on your own? Whatever helps you make the approach should be considered a good thing.

I do think it's important to be judicious with them. Don't hand them out to every chick you meet. Don't treat them like you're handing out flyers...HA HA!

Business cards are great for networking, worthless with women. That's my experience, and I've experimented quite a bit with different cards/approaches. The only time it works is if you literally have a few seconds before you have to leave. I guess you could make that part of your plan, but you don't build much attraction between the two of you that way. Kind of pointless.

Well, it shouldn't be your main strategy, but as part of your overall arsenal, it's a pretty good weapon. Granted, I've only gotten 1 out of 7 to respond so far, but even with that, it's more than I would've gotten had I said nothing. If you're shy, or don't have a lot of time, it's much better than nothing. Also, since it's a tool to help you with shyness or lack of time, you might as well only hand them out to the cream of the crop. Since there aren't that many cream of the cropers, you'll have a built in limit as to who you'll give your cards to.

I've always seen the business card, in the context of meeting women, more as a replacement for writing your info on a napkin or something. I understand not wanting a stranger to have your work info, so that's why a personal card of some sort is cool for use with women. It removes a certain formality, and you don't appear to be showing off the fact that you have a position that warrants a business card.

My lays don't get cards. Or anything with my last name. They only get my hoe phone number and move up to my real number if they prove themselves to be cool. I don't need stalkers.

I think disputing the use of business cards is like disputing the idea of a fresh haircut! What's better, fumbling around for a piece of paper to wrote on, or a business card. Obviously, you aren't going to give someone you don't know a card with any info. on it that you don't want her to have. Spend the $8 and make up some more, but leaving out vital information. Will a 22 year old punk rocker think you're square for using cards, maybe. However, any girl that wants to deal with some class (the only girls worth dealing with) is going to appreciate that you're somewhat professional, and that you also have a job that warrants cards! This isn't disputable!

The piece of paper is better because it's spontaneous and isn't try-hard. Most of the girls I've interacted with thought it was cheesy. I've never had a girl get in touch with me after leaving my card with her (much less banged one), and I get quite a bit of action otherwise.

Most women with their heead on straight is not going to look down on a guy who has a damn business card. He's supposed to have cards, if he has a job that calls for them. If I have a job that calls for cards, and if I have cards, why would I opt for a piece of paper?? it's only natural to give out one of my cards! The fact that I have a decent job, and the card reveals that isn't a bad thing, its a good thing. Granted, I want a girl to like me for me, but I don't mind one of those deciding factors being that I can help provide for us.

The paper works. I've probably gotten 2 lays from it this year and it's a move I rarely deploy. I'm about to bang my third from that trick this Halloween weekend if I play my cards right.

I prefer using napkins though, but if all I have is part of a bar check so be it. Asking them to write their number on the inside of your wrist works well too (bartenders especially).

Cards are for networking, not for women. "What do you have a business proposal for me?" This is how girls think. I know because I ask. And no, it's not just immature girls.

Revealing too much is a bad thing. She's already got your name (to google), number, job, and personality type (the type of guy who gives out cards to random girls). Lotta mystery gone already.

You also tend to attract the wrong types if you flaunt your job around. The unemployed guy gets laid just as easily.

Either I'm putting my number in their phone or they're putting their number in mine, or both.

Not grinning, smiling) "Excuse me, I'm not sure what the rest of your week is looking like, but I would like to take you out." She said, Umm, I don't know, I'm usually pretty busy all week." She had a little smile when she said this, but I still got the feeling that she was going into her natural defense posture, and was preparing for the blow off. I then said, "I tell you what, let me give you my card and then you can decide from there. If you call, you call, if not no hard feelings." She said, "That's fair." and I handed her my card and said goodbye. no more than 10 minutes later she called me!! I didn't answer. An hour later she text me, and we spoke a little while after that and set up a coffee date for next Wednesday.

As I've said before, I know that business cards can't be the only thing you live by, but I noticed yesterday that when a girl is hesitant, and not sure if she's feeling you, a business card can give her the opportunity she needs to contact you later once she gets her mind right, and has time to digest the fact that a decent guy just approached her. A girl can be hesitant fior various reasons. I know in my case, I have very glaring pluses and minsus. I'm rather muscular (+) but I'm short.(-) Most girls consider me to be somewhat cute (+) but I'm black, usually a (-) if the girls isn't black herself. Minuses such as these can give a girl pause. However, pluses such as these can cause a girl to continue to think about you even after you've parted. That's where the card comes in handy. Also, without a card, I would've been forced to go into prolonged reqesting (begging) and badgering for her number, potentially making me look desperate. This way, I was able to get right to the point with confidence and yet still give her a way to contact me later. Get your cards fellas!

Kudos on the gas station game. I recall spending time at a gas station working out a debit card issue with my bank over the phone and was just amazed at the caliber of women who stopped to get gas. There was a thread on this too, I believe.

I had friends tell me I was crazy for giving her my card, as if only scary people or stalkers frequent gas stations. I didn't go to the gas station specifically to meet women, but I captalized on the situation as it arose.
It didn't amount to more than a few romps in the hay, but the card worked.

Didn't realize this was the same thread. The card I made up is on page 1, and yes it's as ridiculous as it looks there. But hey you can't beat it $5 per 500.
