It's on my other account Tony Snow. I couldn't log in with that account for some reason. So I started a new one. Here it is
/thread-2270.h...Night+Life

Places that are cool to live are Inner Richmond, If you have money Pacific Heights, Nob Hill, the Marina, or North Beach. If you are grimy you could live in SOMA or the Tenderloin jk. Some parts of the Mission district are good too. It depends what your budget is and SF is also an expensive city. Also if you surf you could surf Ocean Beach I have a good friend who surfs there all the time. And if you are serious about surfing you could go to Santa Cruz which is close. The weather isn't that good though.

I would say ATL is the closest thing to what you guys are talking about. Sans the beaches.

Nah, ATL is hot, muggy and rainy in the summer. SoCal is never muggy, warm but not hot, and it only rains in winter. Totally different.

Here is what my ideal of the perfect city would be if I had to create one from my imagination. It would have the geography and weather of S. California(Mediterranean climate), it would have great public transit making a car unnecessary, it would be dense and walkable and have lots of history and history architecture, the food and restaurants would be great, there would be world class cultural attractions, a beach, mountains to ski in the winter, it would have decent girls and maybe something of a romantic vibe to it like Paris or Prague.

The closest thing in real life to that would be Barcelona I'm guessing. Until I can up and move there I'll just have to settle for what we have here.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I really appreciate it. Glad to here that Dallas and Houston are good. I'm a bit surprised and let down by San Antonio. I wonder what happens w/OK City - all the girls who I meet in DC from there are usually very cute.

Just so you know, the cities that I picked were intentional. They were cities with relatively small or no real estate bubbles (either current or in the past), and seem to not have been completely trashed by the recession. Hence, I deliberately left out Austin, Phoenix, S Fl, and New Orleans.

-Austin is recession proof: Has state governement, big ass university, strong tech scene and restaurants. I got family that live there and they were shocked when reading about other ciites because Austin just kept puttering...

-Phoenix...just has a ton of beautiful women period. You would be stunned at the quality in scottsdale and tempe. Plus you have access to Cali for expediitions...You can get foreclosed homes at low low prices. Only problem with Phoenix is that mass transit does not exist..

The downside of Phoenix is it is a corporate chain hell hole with no character, class or style.

Hotter than Hades as well.

On the plus side, Las Vegas is close, but that doesn't exactly help you beat the heat.

It's also a police state. With horrible logistics. Add those two together and you are serving jail time.

And it is not unusual to be driving for hours upon hours during the day just to live life.

Hot girls though and the competition is soft like melted butter in the Phoenix sun.

The other downside is when someone asks where you live, you have to respond "Phoenix". You can always lie though.

Easier just to catch them when the come to the Wessyde.

Have you looked into Montevideo? It has something of a Barcelona vibe to me, but at a discount. Most women are of Spanish decent and there's beaches and a great climate. I didn't get to spend much time there, but I think it's underrated.

I hear you though. I lived in SoCal for many years and you can't beat the mediterranean weather.

You would be surprised about the hot HUMID weather, dude. I have heard people complain miserably about Toronto humidity. Luckily, living in Miami trained me because there is nothing that I have ever experienced in terms of humidity that was as bad as Miami and maybe perhaps Houston.

It was so hot that I literally just marvelled at how the locals could be up and hustling in that heat. I didn't feel like doing shyt and I am a motivated muthafcuka!! Didn't hit the gym, just wanted to sit somewhere and drink something cold always.

Neither extremes can be good, although I am tired of Canadian cold. Not just for the cold but for the behaviour of the people when it becomes cold. They whinge, whine and moan and constantly beg for summer.
Then summer comes and the fcukers start moaning about how hot it is.
Fcuk 'em.

I sweated through a Custom Suit one time during summer in Toronto.

Great night though.

I haven't, and I am about to slit my wrists since I was just in Buenos Aires.

I wanted to hit it up, but I couldn't get myself to pack my bags.

Next time for sure.

Barcelona's local women however leave's something to be desired, physically and mentally. Shame really as I love Barcelona as well. If you stay there during spring summer however there will be scores of giddy tourists to put your time into.

Atlanta has quite a few hotties but many of them live in far flung suburbs, the place also seems to be rife with hoodrats, regardless of class standing. Lota Brazilians in the northwest suburbs (Marietta) and many other hispanics heavily concentrated in the northeastern burbs (doraville, duluth, lawrenceville). I live in ATL and I feel that it has terrible logistics outside of I-285, our Beltway. Having access to a car here is a must as, even with train lines, our public trans. is sub-par. Clubs in downtown ATL close pretty early (3am) and there's no alcohol sales on Sunday although you can go to a bar, restaurant, etc.

RE: Which major American city provides the best value for single men?
Lived in Chicago for 2 years, its great. However, I still don't think the people were as cool and friendly as the reputation seems to indicate. Their friendly for sure - but its not the most stylish city, alot of people who live there are from small town nowhere in the midwest, and it just lacks that cosmopolitan, edgy vibe that other big cities like nyc, l.a., s.f. have. Can't even tell you the amount of times where people were surprised at my rock n' roll or hip-hop style. Sometimes the attention was good, often though it could be alienating.

The venues tend to be shitty quality IMO. GOod bars but the clubs were pretty crappy compared to l.a. or nyc, but much less exclusive which was kind of nice.

Its still a great bang for your buck though. Real estate is good quality and cheap considering the size of the town, its diverse, has good enough public transportation, beautiful architecture.

Still prolly my 1st choice in USA.

For Austin, I'm more worried about a real estate bubble starting there. The real estate prices are considerably higher than the rest of Texas, for no good geographical reason. As far as I can tell, Austinites refuse to build any transport (either highways or rail) and probably put in land use restrictions to prevent the construction of new housing so current land owners can jack up rents.

Phoenix could easily have another bubble due to federal water use restrictions.

I'm not arguing about the women. I'm just trying to find the sweet spot between beautiful women, affordable real estate, and gainful employment. Austin, especially, worries me.

After growing up in DC, I want out of real estate musical chairs. It sucks seeing all of your money go down the hole for something that should cost half of what you pay.

Surprised New Orleans merits no consideration. Great mix of culture, food, music, freedom to do as you please, and winning combination of friendly, cute locals and drunk, debauchery-seeking tourists. Probably my favorite city in the U.S., I have visited many times (I live in NYC).

I love New Orleans, too. But if you are looking for work, the economy can be booming and it's still tough to find a job in the Big Easy. That's why I (sadly) will not consider it.

I am a native of NC (city only a couple hours away) - but I can vouch for the girls in Charlotte any day. I am pretty young (not yet of legal drinking age - but almost) so I can't say much about night clubs etc... but there are schools like Davidson and UNC Charlotte which provide some goods. I go to a private school near a different city in NC, and the scene for anyone not associated with the school is a disaster.

I would recommend to any of you guys who are gaming in Charlotte to invite one of the Charlotte girls up to the mountains (only an hour and a half away) for the weekend. Very reasonable prices if you do it right, and it's almost a completely different country and vibe. Some straight up goddesses up there too - although I might be biased.

There is this guy at my company who goes to uruguay every three months and thats what he says about it.

1)There are plenty of fly girls, but the Punta del este scene is better.
2)Girls there dress very well and are thin.
3)There is a "Miami-vibe" specially in a Punta Del este, so the girls are to much into money, clothes, plastic surgery and this kinda of stuff..Cassinos/ resorts in the area.Lots of P4P.

When he told us here about uruguay I now can relate some similarities to what Mixx described about Miami.
If you have tight game and DHV somehow they are DTF.

He is average looks but I don't know if he has game.

umm have you been out in uptown Charlotte?

Charlotte has the richest / stylish dudes in NC. I'll be back in the queen city for my bday festivites nxt month! Id much rather live in Raleigh or Wilmington though. Tons of hot chicks that are not as stuck up like their counter parts in Charlotte.

No typo. Im worried because alot of what Ive heard about Montevideo is that it is more bland (nightlife/locals style) and the girls are pretty conservative. Maybe someone that knows about Montevideo can chime in.

Roosh

I was trying to make the point that everything Ive heard about Montevideo is GREAT ie low cost of living, great scenery/architecture, nice weather, and that my ONLY concern had to deal with how style conscious and DTF the local girls were. Was wanting someone with the scoop on Montevideo to chime in and give their opinion or thoughts on the matter.

Trolling?!? lol Ive been on this forum for 2 years, drop knowledge on Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica. Going to Asia in a few months and will be be dropping a ton of info on Central Asia and SE Asia in the following yr. I have opinions and info on other countries that I have yet to been to and I like to discuss them. It is getting annoying with all the recent forum police heckling me over a few comments made about Peru and SE Asia. Its like im on a forum with a bunch a kids "You didnt go there so you shouldnt comment or drop knowledge on it" Get over yourself. Funny thing is the posters that were actually there and tried to call me out got called out in in return as other posters backup my second hand knowledge over their first hand knowledge. Im done commenting on this further as it is getting pretty old over the last 2 days.
