What I've surmised from previous comments leads me back to the old addages;"Life is a Game," and "Life is About Balance," thus life long game is about leading a balanced life.

I'd hate to only get all the pussy I'll see in my 20's and early 30's, just to dry up in my late 30's and 40's because I had no financial planning in place or let all the other areas required for a balanced life wane while chasing pussy, then my own tail later in life wondering wtf went wrong.

I agree. However, the thing that sucks about American culture is guys who are worried about things like careers, finance, and generally getting your shit together are pussy repellant to American women. Therefore, you end up being like a monk in your teenage and early 20s years so that you can get pussy for the rest of your life. It's a tradeoff that ends up working years down the line, but it seriously pisses you off when you're a young dude with hormones pumping and you see other guys getting the pussy.

It sucks that these bitches are so into guys who burn the candle at both ends and have no future time orientation, so they overlook the guys getting their shit together and only ride the gravy train with guys who are either 1. already there 2. guys who are too dumb to realize things change and you don't stay young forever.

The better long term solution is obvious, but it sucks missing out when you're younger.

I have a game personality and a work personality.

At work you have to be "intense" or appear to be willing to slit someone's throat if you need to.

Outside of work I become "retarded". I speak like a idiot and make sentences that don't compute since I look young so it's "funny".

Example:

Work: "what the fuck did xyz company just say this doc has xxx xxx xx wrong with it when I specifically said xxx xxx xxx fuck this shit I am doing it myself. (Smash table with fist - go silent. Fix all the issues.)" Turn in project to only person who matters who then hears from tier below him you're an "intense guy" but only knows that by third party. Then you run regular game on the top guy in the office so you get fast tracked up.

Outside of work:

I literally say out loud to myself "I am a bumbling baffoon". You then have a "carefree" personality at all times. Dude in a set starts talking about work you say outloud "well my n**** I think it's about dat time to take shotz to the dome! Rage!"

Westcoast, it boils down to being able to choose the appropriate action, and being capable of performing that action, for every situation.

Calibration.

Practice does make a difference.

If you don't use it, in most cases, you lose it.

Also, the more you do something, the better you get at it.

Sounds like you are getting good at the Superman/Clark Kent game. Other guys need to go out a lot to maintain their chops.

I do sometimes wonder how grinding game vs. obliteration game relate to one another.

You could grind away for years, slowly building your game and maybe get higher quality girls. Or you can go out and get rich or famous and come out like a bomb.

Actually, you might not be able to break through to higher levels just by grinding. It's also true that you might burn yourself out by jumping into high-stakes game.

The first step is to be present to the burn. If you aren't getting what you want in life, you have to listen to that.

Do everything possible to avoid failure, but don't get out of sorts if you do fail. Try to learn from failure, and make changes to decrease the odds of it happening again.

I think it's unwise for a man to base his definition of success on how many/the quality of women that he bangs. Women are capricious and low quality generally, even if they're hot. Better for a man to be successful by his own metric, by the quality that he strives to be, regardless of external outcomes.

It's complicated though. Men and women need each other. To a certain degree, our happiness necessarily depends on the women in our lives.

Given the state of Western women today, this leads to a lot of unhappiness.

Spend 3-4 months working hard and going out 2 times/week max sober, and then 2 months going out 5-6 times a week really pushing it on the game front.

Or whatever works for you. There's no reason you can't have both. There are plenty of dudes who out there who work hard and still get laid.

Stop comparing yourself to other guys. That's not productive. Be happy with your own progress. As long as year by year you're improving thats all that matters.

Also why are you working hard? It should be for yourself, so you can do awesome shit like travel and experience new cultures, eat great food, do awesome stuff. Last 2 weeks in the DR I've experienced so much I would not have in Canada, and partied with awesome people. Made new friends.

I'm not pissed off. I'm very happy. I'm privileged to have been lucky enough to have no game. Otherwise I would not have found RVF. If I was one of those dumbass dudes who have no future orientation I'd miss out on a fuckton of what life has to offer because I'd be burnt out by 30.

Interesting thread.

I have a lot of problems with this. I lived recklessly for years, going out nearly every night, drinking to excess, and burying my head in the sand with regards to my future. I got a lot of girls, and many were high quality (and some that were so ugly that thinking back actually gives me shivers haha). The drink, and the momentum of going out so much and constantly living in the moment, gave me an insanely cocky attitude, and girls that any rational person would say were out of my league were like moths to a flame at times. I'm about to be thirty though, with not much money left, and very little career options (I have a useless degree in sports science, and have hardly worked a job since I was 20 because I spent most of the last decade zig zagging between trying to get somewhere in the sport of boxing, or going on benders).

I'm now starting to see people in my social circle that toed the line over the years, begin to have a lot more success with women. And with a few old friends having become millionaires, I've been feeling a twinge of insecurity and bitterness lately. If I drink, then I'm still pretty much able to get into the right mood and bury all of them, but as I mentioned in another thread, I have a bit of a drink problem, some liver damage, and so have been trying to stay sober lately.

What I notice, is that I'm definitely a lot more able to stay on top of everything with regards to starting to get my shit together, training, nutrition, clothes, and I definitely look better than ever (my mental health is also much more consistent). However, these things have done very little for my results with women, and I actually think that the future time oriented frame that comes with working towards goals, means that I find it harder (pretty much impossible without drink) to get into that cocky, in the moment way of being, that actually gets the pussy wet.

Another thing I notice is that a couple of women that have been around for years that I thought I'd always be able to call, seem far less interested in me. It might just be that they are moving on with their lives, but I have my suspicions that they find me boring now with my regimented nutrition, training, etc, whereas before being around me was much more exciting as I was volatile, was in constant drama, and seemed like I needed fixing I guess. It's strange because on paper I'm much improved from what I was a year ago, and yet these women seem far less attracted to me.

Game is about being an awesome guy (experiencing, learning, growing) while hitting, maintaining and expanding your lifestyle goals...

I've worked on myself extensively to the point where WOMEN are "background" noise allowing me time to focus on making money, hanging with friends and family without any hiccups. The beauty of it all is that I've BECOME A GUY who can literally handcraft whatever lifestyle he wants.

I have tons of friends who make a good amount of money, bang women here and there BUT don't really have the lifestyle that is conducive to some insane experiences. I don't regret any choice I made, I'm actually GLAD because then I wouldn't have grown so much nor experienced life in a manner that I did. (while broke)

To paint a picture, imagine having money and having ACCESS to the hottest venue in NY and spending $0 on nightlife. I could literally date models only and just walk them a few blocks to my apartment. (assuming I had money) This is RARE for a normal guy who has no money. It's insane the thoughts I have when I finally have enough money to have good logistics and start hosting my own stuff. :o

I didn't post on the forum for a few months because I thought game didn't really work.

I'd stopped having to use lines from pickup books or wonder if a girl was giving my IOI's or whatever.

Basically I was just getting girls from being me.

"Game didn't work," I thought to myself. "I'm doing infinitely better now than when I actively tried applying stuff from game books."

One morning while I was driving home from a girl's it hit me.

Game hadn't failed me, it had become me.

I'd internalized the lessons and used them as a foundation to build my interactions on. Game had given me the tools to present myself however I wanted. It was my world and the girl was just along for the ride.
