I'm sure a lot of you guys saw my piece on ROK titled 5 Reasons to Date a Girl With An Eating Disorder. When it hit last Wednesday, people in the comments immediately predicted a shitstorm. I figured I'd get some reaction, especially since I went after upper-middle-class white girls--who aren't accustomed to being attacked in any way--but wasn't that surprised when things remained relatively quiet. That silence held until today.

This thing's gone viral, mainly though Facebook, it seems. It took down the ROK server for a while, and has kept it running sluggishly since. Twitter is sizzling with hate tweets, outrage, and general female hysteria (and the attendant white knighting) over the whole thing. It's gotten something like 11,000 likes just today. The rage comments are piling up. I'm getting hate emails in a variety of tones, ranging from pity to rage.

   

Some little articles and Internet mentions are starting to pop up, but I expect more in the coming days.

I know the forum enjoys this kind of popcorn drama with the outside world, so I thought I'd share my moment of lulz and humblebrag with you all. If you go over to ROK, try not to crash the server again.

I am bulimic. And I can deep throat. Are they related? I don't think so.

I've become really good at triggering my gag reflex when I want to throw up. If anything, bulimia should make it harder to deep throat.

I learned to deep throat (and i mean actually deep throat, where the penis passes your gag reflex and curves down your throat) by relaxing my throat and keeping it open. Maybe bulimia has made me more used to having things back there? That's the only logic I can find in saying bulimics can deep throat, since it's not a cause-effect relationship.

Bulimia also makes your throat sore, so sometimes I don't go deep cause it hurts.
And guess what, sometimes I throw up. If it hits my gag reflex, I'll puke.

This entire article is disgusting. Both you, Aviva, and the author, are extremely misinformed about eating disorders (I shouldn't need to say that) and their "benefits." I can assure you I'm not bulimic so I can be better at sex.
I just don't want people to have a misconception about bulimics. If you find out a girl is bulimic, your first thought shouldn't be "I bet she can deep throat."

And I noticed a comment wondering if we'd swallow since semen has a lot of calories. And then someone replied that we could just throw it up right after.

Brian Cuban has a real short fuse on Twitter. I got blocked by him a few years ago because I called him out on something regarding Penn State, which he was defending since he was an alumni. Dude is totally wacked out and probably bipolar if you follow him and see his tweets over time.

The article is spreading like wild fire, especially in the "thinspo" and "proana" crowds. Of course being the mentally ill hamsters they are, instead of thinking of the article as a positive they come up with contradictions to support that emotional upset hamster wheel spinning.
