RE: The Los Angeles thread
Venice was pretty good this weekend. +1. Only issue was the 405 was closed on the way back. FML. I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for almost an hour at 2am. gay.
Traffic and driving aside, Venice is a great spot to pick up white girls- blondes, brunettes, red-heads.
Funny story from Saturday night, I am dancing w/this chick. Some guy in hipster outfit and nerdy glasses grabs her and starts talking to her-blocking me off. I think its somebody she knows. She sidesteps him and then grabs me and we dance for another 30 seconds. He grabs her again, and then tries to chat w/her again and tries to pull a robbery on me: slowly stepping away from me w/her.
I grabbed her by the arm, pulled her into my arms, and then moved away from him. 2 mins later, he walks up AGAIN.
Asks me "Can I talk to her?"
DVY "Do you know her?"
Hipster " No, but I want 2 seconds w/her"
DVY "Bro, who are you?"
Hipster "Im Alex, yada yada yada"
DVY "Fuck off man. Why are you still here?"
Girl- beaming from eye to eye and loving the drama. She kissed me 30 seconds later. Some thirsty dudes out in Venice after midnight. So be prepared to deal w/some issues. Also almost got into a fight w/this 6'4 white dude as I was leaving the bar.
WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

Guys complain a lot about logistics. I can see that being a problem with everything being so spread out. But, with this amount of girls and the density of population, there is no excuse not to do well here. Day game is a goldmine.
If I lived here, the most important thing would be LOCATION. I would make damn sure that I lived and worked in an area where lots of girls also lived and worked.
Like I said before, I would likely live a few blocks from UCLA.
If logistics are a problem, fix your logistics.
LA is a great place for girls. No excuses. Fix your game, fix your logisitcs.
There are millions of pretty girls here, literally, millions!
I would not be driving all over the place chasing them. I would identify a neighborhood that was a a good fit for me and I would develop a system to maximize that neighborhood. Maybe, I would move every other year or so. There are so many different fishbowls in LA! A player should do well here.
I feel like in LA, logistics are 70% of the game. Focus on that first. Finding cute, freindly girls is the easy part.
I wouldn't say there are millions of hot girls in LA (you were probably exaggerating), but no one ever really said that there weren't hot women in LA. The ease of getting with these hot women is what is usually debated.
Most guys come to LA and head out to the Hollywood/WeHo club & bar scene and get shot down quickly. I think that is what causes a lot of the grips about LA. However, you are right, picking the right location is crucial to pulling in LA since logistics is a serious issue. A more productive use of time is finding the right neighborhood/fishbowl and learning to make the best of it.
As for living in Westwood Village (the neighborhood near UCLA), that place is expensive as hell to live in and so the studio & single bedroom apartments in that area go quick since so many students are competing to get these places. That is usually the case with most of the desirable neighborhoods in LA: the demand to live there exceeds the supply, so rents are high.
Another problem is that when I lived in LA, I worked all day, so day game opportunities were always limited to weekends. In that sense, I guess the workaround is to get a freelance job that has flexible hours to allow plenty of day game opportunities, but the drawback is freelance work will result in a lot less money and more of a need to have side hustles to make ends meet.
In the end, though, you are right. You can make LA work, but it just requires a bit more of a plan than most other cities.

Not true. I live in Austin, TX and you can be a pizza deliver guy here and still bang cute girls. There are probably other cities/neighborhoods (Brooklyn comes to mind) that have this culture as well, but I can't think of too many off the top of may head.
I travel between Austin and LA all the time for family business, and I would say your job matters less in Austin than in LA as far as picking up girls is concerned.

That very well may be true, have never been to Austin but have always thought of it as a big college town.

It is a kind of a college town, but it is also a hipster town. I have noticed that any place that trends toward hipsterism tends not put much emphasis on jobs as a way to attract women.
Brooklyn is like this as well.

2nd that spot. Many places walking distance and a revolving door of foreign ass out of that place.

I think there's a few beer gardens closer to the Santa Monica side of things where people just hang out and drink.
I personally kill out of the Whaler and have never done shit out of James Beach for whatever reason.
Erwin is great to invite chicks (MikeCF hit it right with that photo), but the way its set up its hard to crack the circles. The tables are isolated and essentially bunkered by the planters around them. If you happen to be in the little booth area with other chicks, it can be gold.

He's shorter than you imagine.
Yep. I used to see him at Schatzi's on Main (back before it was sold and converted to 31 Ten) and Hollywood Smoke.
I've stood right next to him. He is shorter than I was, even with his elevator shoes.
He's 5'10" tops.
His office is still above Hollywood Smoke and he is in there regularly. I am 95% sure he still owns the real estate there as I KNOW he did when it was Schatzi's, and I think he may have even owned Schatzi's at one point.
Living in LA and looking for him, he is probably the easiest celebrity of any to find.

FOB and on a budget living in a hostel, is not gonna pull the 8 and 9's in LA. He'll get laid, but most likely not by them without some super human game. I think the bigger question to be answered is: IF he manages to pull the creme de la creme the City of Angels offers with his situation, we anoint him King.

RE: The Los Angeles thread
You can find a sublet around Venice, Santa Monica, WeHo, Hollywood, Los Feliz, and Silverlake for about $800-900 a month easily. Sublets are typically furnished, and if you find one with good housemates you might have some wings who know the area.
Otherwise, banana bungalow is a good place if you're into young foreign girls who usually aren't old enough to go out to clubs so they stay around to get drunk in the hostel (and hookup). The HI Santa Monica is pretty nice and clean for a hostel, but they have a 10pm quiet time, so it sucks for hostel bangs. The Venice Beach hostel, I haven't been to, but it's pretty nicely located (as PartyOnBro already suggested).
If you're into club hoes, and having decent options to go out nightly, there's no other viable option than Hollywood (and the vicinity). Silverlake/Echo Park/Los Feliz is also good if you like to go drinking any night of the week.
If you like the beach and like keeping the nightlife to thurs-sundays, then Venice is a good choice.
In either case, I'd strongly suggest perusing the sublet listings on craigslist to see what you can find.
