kosko, I find if I make myself believe I'm already great friends with the girl or something I'll be way more comfortable and 'natural' when approaching.

Today I went to a bunch of different stores. I talked to all the employees I could, at the shoe store there was a hot chick working. I went to the thrift store and picked out this jacket I couldn't decide if it was cool or not. I went to text a friend to ask their opinion and thought "shit why don't I just ask that cute girl over there" I walked over with the same mindset that I would have had if a friend were with me, rambled a bit. How does one handle being SIF'd?

Let's say you are meeting at some location to start the night. She gets there first giving you the opportunity to scope her out before introducing yourself. If she is fat then obviously you abort the date.

But if she finds you first, what does a man do at the point? Do you say you will be right back only to leave? That's what I would do. I wouldn't finish the date. Maybe I would tell the girl that this isn't what I signed up for.

Depends. I got SIF'd but it was an Au Pair, so I waited around to see if she could lead me to her Au Pair friends who would be better looking.

Didn't happen. Was pretty uncomfortable.

I did what I've done before, which was to have one quick drink with her, chat pleasantly and then bail out. I'm just too polite I guess.

I have considered arriving first and setting up surveillance as you suggest; i may start doing that from now on if I have suspicions

This is easy. If she's fat, walk. The easiest way is to just tell them within a few minutes, "Hey, you know what, you seem nice but I'm just not feeling a spark here so I'm not going to waste your time. Thanks for meeting me, good luck."

No need to be mean or a dick, just let them know you're not feeling it.

Thought about it, it is pretty much 100% beta.
