I'm in Kiev right now. My first night out was so different than Kharkov that I wanted to share my impressions:

- Girls speak English here. One night in Kiev I met more semi-fluent English speakers than three months in Kharkov. I didn't have to speak any Russian last night, but in Kharkov I had to game in Russian from my first approach.

- Girls were giving me massive eye contact. It was sustained. I rarely got this in Kharkov. (Actually right now in the coffee shop the waitress is gawking at me.)

- Having a solid backstory (like I described in Bang Ukraine) can make or break the interaction. The tv show I'm going on gave me a media handler and he would explain to the girls the situation. The girls would ask for proof and he would show his press card and I would show my American passport and it was on. Once the backstory was executed, the approach was for me to lose... but...

- Even without the wingman, I was still getting good vibes. He left early and I was in the club alone, ready for brutality, but even with a now weaker backstory (I didn't have proof) and being solo, I was getting good vibes. It would have been an easy 2 or 3 numbers to play with if I was staying.

- The sex tourist issue is moderately bad. Yeah, there were a lot of shady turks and other foreigners, but it wasn't hard to blow them out of the water. Most of them looked like bums and had no game. Unlike in Riga, I didn't feel immediately discriminated against because of my appearance, where no amount of game could overcome their negative view of foreigners.

- Being an American (and being able to prove it, lol) got a way better response last night than in Kharkov. You'd think it would be the opposite, but in Kharkov it seemed like they didn't care as much.

- Some girls were getting plastered. You don't see that much in Kharkov where girls keep it together if they're not with guys.

My instinct for those of you who read Bang Ukraine is that if you go to Kiev, it will be easier than what I describe in the book.

For shits and giggles I did a street approach just to see the vibe. It's snowing and cold, mind you. Girl is bundled up, a 6-7, hard to tell, and I ask a tourist question in English. Not only does she speak English, but after a minute she was smiling at me. SMILING!!! Even in Lublin I don't get that.

I was kind of ready to write Ukraine off, and while I'm sure problems in Kiev will present itself to me (logistics, sex tourists, gold diggers, semi-pros), I am a little bit curious now. I arrived here on Saturday and leave on Tuesday. Not enough time for a full impression (not even a proper weekend), but I think it may be worth a month to check it out.

It will be interesting to see how much publicity you get when the show airs. I say do as much publicity as possible in Ukraine and try to present yourself as well as possible. If other Ukrainian media outlets want to do interviews after the talk show airs, do them as well. Fame game trumps all other forms of game, so if you can build a following then you will definitely get Ukrainian groupies, so go for it.

Finally! I can actually believe you are in Ukraine now. I wonder how long until you forget about Poland. I was really having a hard time wondering why it was so brutal for you in Kharkov. Enjoyed the UKR book but I had trouble understanding your experience. My hypothesis had been that you were too young.

Re: vodka... Drink the local stuff. Khortetsa should do the trick. I never get hungover as long as I drink all night without a mixer and stick with only vodka, ice cold vodka.

I wonder if just the fact that girls in Kiev are so used to foreigners works in your favour, that they are not as insular and provincial minded as those in smaller cities. Maybe they like to view themselves as more cosmopolitan and worldly. Also, they can probably understand why you are in Kiev, it's a big city with lots of tourists, while a foreigner in Kharkhov raises more suspicion about his motives.

i love this about roosh, and for some reason, it strikes me as a very masculine and scientific thing to do -- to realize that there is new data that essentially contradicts the old data, and to report it, without shame or excuses. roosh just wrote an entire book on ukraine, which i bought, and now he is telling us that this city seems to be very different from the city he wrote about.

this is why men invented science and men rule the world. because we are logical, unbiased, dispassionate. we search for the truth, and we don't take things personally.

thanks for the update roosh. what you are saying makes sense. not the best example, but i am living right now in a small city in spain of about 100,000 people. it is too small. people think i am odd. being american has zero cache. while maybe in madrid or barcelona, i would just be another american tourist, if a city is too small or too provincial, then it goes the other way. people see you as weird. just like manabout said:

INSULAR AND PROVINCIALLY MINDED is exactly right.

the key is to find a nice balance. and it seems like in ukraine, that balance can only be had in the biggest city. in poland, maybe the balance is found in a second tier city.

every country has a different sweet spot.

I had written from the first time you should skip provincial Ukraine ans focus on Kiev since your game is based on night venues.Nightgame is highly rewarding in Kiev in sheer contrast to other Ukrainian cities.It is easier to get a stunning provincial Ukrainian girl in Kiev where she studies than in her provincial city.
Also I had written that the proportion of girls who speak English in Kiev amounts to more than 50% while it is close to 20% in the rest of the country.The only downside of Kiev is that it is double expensive than the the other cities.I have written if you can spend 1000$ it is better to spend it on a 3 day party in Kiev living like a king than in a week in province.
Province is best for experienced travellers who speak Russian and are on relative budget.Alao for adventure hunters.

I also have written that what matters is not the country but the city.There are cities in Ukraine that are worse than some cities in Poland and cities in Poland which are worse than other cities in Ukraine.The whole issue is to find the right cities in the triangle Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and if you extend you can include Russia.
Also there is no general rule that capital city is worse than provincial cities. This is true in Poland but not true in Ukraine.There are reasons for this which I have explained (one being the big income difference regarding Kiev with the result of attracting loss of attractive girls from various areas of the country, another being the more liberal attitude of the more cosmopolitan capital lb city Kiev girls, their lack of shyness, marriage at an early age preconceptions etc

As a matter of fact Western Ukraine, Eastern Ukraine and Kiev are completely different playgrounds.You cannot form one single conclusion about a part just by observing the other part of the country. Ukraine is actually split culturally, linguistically, economically and this reflects on girls behaviour.It is actually 3 or 4 different countries forced into one.

Funny enough, I got more outgoing vibes from chicks in Madrid but was just another Asian tourist in an insular & provincial environment that was Barcelona. I guess it really depends on the city at the end of the day with regards to the main hubs. Places like Warsaw, NYC, Madrid, Montreal, and perhaps Prague I've experienced chicks to be more sociable whereas Barcelona and Budapest were trouble spots.

With regards to this thread specifically, I'd like to try out Lviv and Kiev.

Roosh, did you take the train from Warsaw to Ukraine and how was that? I am thinking of running some "train game" over a few vodka drinks as I'll be in Ukraine, Kiev on March 15th and am going to Warsaw by train on March 19th. Also, I know your stay in Kiev is too short (IMHO need at least 2 weeks to familiarize oneself properly with everything) but from first impression can you tell if Khreshchatyk St. is worth all the hype as I will be staying in a pimp apartment overlooking it.

I flew, but I have heard about train game and that you can get bangs from it.

Kiev is big. Night venues can be spaced far apart. With cover, taxis, and drinks, it's somewhat expensive.

Entrance for good clubs like Decadence, D'Lux cost about 25$, the drinks there especially if you buy girls drinks can cost 100$ for two hours and the taxis rip off in ridiculous amounts. (they ask for more than 10$ once they have to cross the Dnieper bridge).So nightlife can easily cost 150$ per night in Kiev.

Kreshatik daygame and afternoon game can be rewarding if you posess the right appearance and good clothes and shoes.Many girls stroll down in companies waiting to be picked up or sit on benches with drinks waiting for Ukrainian dudes to come and offer to pay them entrance in bars or clubs.
Kiev is unique in the sense that you can get girls easily from both internet sites, daygame and nightgame I have not seen any other city in Ukraine where this happens (the ones good for daygame suck at nightgame or internet and the opposite).
There is a reason why all sex tourists gather in Kiev.Competition from Turks, Arabs is annoying but easy to handle.
Kiev is also the city in Ukraine where one night stands are easy to get.A lot of girls are bi.

Vodka bar, Decadence and D'Lux are your typical tourist gold digger hot spots. If you dig a bit deeper Kiev has a vibrant alternative and cosmopolitan side with super cool chicks. Daygame is also a great away to meet normal girls who don't go out at night.

I am in Kiev now. I had plans of going to the DR but decided to push that back until April. I arrived in Kiev on Saturday and I am only staying for one week. Roosh, send me a message if you want to meet up tonight. I wanted to come for a week to see if it is a city to invest more time in. I am thinking one month in the summer. My initial impressions are congruent with Roosh and the other posts on this thread. I will write a more detailed post at the week end.

I met a 20 year old, self-described student and model from Kherson. I met her on Ukrainedate. We skyped for about 6 weeks and she took the 12 hour train to meet me and waited for me all day in the airport. I have not closed the deal with her. I have never spent so much time with a girl, especially foreign on a quasi-vacation and not gotten laid. She is not staying in my apartment.

I have been with this girl for the most part but I have had some time to venture out alone and I will have more time because she is leaving tomorrow. I went to Delux 1 am on Saturday night....insane talent. Lots of 8s and 9s. Despite the cold weather, I am getting lots of eye contact, even being bundled up. i think this place in the summer can be off the hook for daygame as well as night game. I have some interesting stories to report but will do so after the week is up. So far, I am thinking this will be a good place to set up shop for a month in the summer. More to come soon....

Sorry to have to ask a very basic question, but do most people in Kiev speak Russian or Ukrainian? If it's Ukrainian I guess this may be a problem for someone already having trouble trying to understand Russian, only to have to learn Ukrainian as well.

They speak Russian in Kiev and very few are nationalistic like in the western Ukraine where they refuse to speak Russian.When they are with family however Kievans use Ukrainian.

Ukrainian is completely useless.In the western part you can use polish as well which sounds very similar to Ukrainian.Basically all Ukrainians understand Russian.A common occurence in the western part is when you speak Russian and they answer in Ukrainian.
In eastern Ukraine and Crimea on the other hand they always speak Russian and most Ukrainians there cannot even understand Ukrainian.

Funny thing: I'm talking to a Ukrainian girl on VK from Lviv. She's so nationalistic its downright annoying. She keeps talking about how amazing the Ukrainian language is and how it is the second most melodious language in the world.

Her source? A supposed linguistic conference in Paris in 1934 that said Ukrainian was the third most melodious language in the world after french and farsi, haha.

Yes,they claim it is the most melodic language due to gentle sounds which make some harsh polish and Russian worss sound softer.However I would rather regard it as a variation of polish although it is not good to tell it straight away in the face of a girl who loves her country.So I would say sth in the lines of "Budlaska, it is true Ukrainian language sounds so melodic in my ears you do not have all these sz,szcz,w like polish.It is also not as harsh as Russian it is a really cultivated language."
