RE: Moving to Miami
Man, it's great to find such an in-depth thread on the MIA here...

I moved to Miami in 2004 to attend 'The U'. After graduation I was fortunate to find a job so I'm still here, living in the Gables/S.Miami area.

I really have so much to contribute here that I'll actually need to organize my thoughts before writing.

There seem to be a few guys here enthralled with the concept of Miami, and all I can say is, it's one thing to vacation here, it's another to actually live here.

I've found that if you can enjoy the life that is available to you here because you have your finances together and you're on some 'playa' shit, this is a great place to be. However, if you're on some 'family' shit and/or struggling financially here, this can be hell on earth.

I'm going to have to hit up some of the obvious MIA vets that are on here, Mixx I see you, and talk about the nightlife. Lately, I've been hanging out a lot lately in Ft. Lauderdale and Brickell, and if I'm on the beach, I'm at Purdy Lounge. To the poster that had a lot to say about the Grove, I won't echo those sentiments, to me, it's dead.

RE: Moving to Miami
I keep hearing this^. Everyone says, "You love it now, but give it three months and you'll hate it." I don't see it though. Yeah, there are a ton of pretentious people, but I've met a lot of good people as well. And even though I don't have lots of money, I'm still finding ways to get hooked up and ball out. I just got taken out in a stretch Escalade limo last night, even though the night ended up going to shit because we went to the wrong spot, it was still kinda fun. My second time in a limo since I've been on South Beach in less than a month. I guess it's all about who you know. And I keep having mad friends from all over the country come out here. I just had a buddy of mine hit me up this afternoon and said he was in Orlando for a concert but it got cancelled so he was coming down to Miami tonight for Halloween. I have another friend coming out next weekend and we're staying at the viceroy for a night. A lot of my friends in CO are from Miami.

I met my first pair of Colombian girls last night, and from what everyone is saying about Colombian girls in MIA, it seems to be true. They were bitches, and ugly at that. They asked me to take a picture for them, I did and it was blurry and they said, "You moved your hand." Like little snobby bitches. I said, "Fine, take it yourselves." I also got a "You're cute," from a smoking hot model looking girl who was walking by as she was fighting with her boyfriend. Nice little ego booster, but too bad we didn't end up going anywhere for me to game. From what I hear, Lincoln Rd. is supposed to be off the hook tonight for Halloween.

I didn't say after a while you'll hate it. I still believe if you can live a certain life here, then this is a great place to be. I'll also agree with what was previously stated, which is Miami and Miami Beach are two different worlds.

"Hey, take our picture" is a shit test you should always pass, never do it. They're dissing you by asking you to take a picture of them as opposed to asking you to join them in the picture. If you want to play along, take the camera and take a pic of yourself or anything else other than them.

RE: Moving to Miami
I remember someone saying that you have to keep in mind there is no state tax in Florida, this is beautiful. I also changed my clame on my W-2s to where I'm not getting taxed as much, but my first check I received, I was taxed LESS THAN 10%. Probably somewhere around 8%. I felt like I was getting taxed the fuck out of when I was living in CO, as I moved from NV, another states that doesn't have states tax. I swear I was getting taxed somewhere around 20% of my check in CO. I remember being so pissed when I would see my $1300 checks paying out $1000 or less. I get paid $3 less an hour out here than I did in CO but suprisingly my checks are close to the same as my job in CO. I do get those fatty tax returns though come the begining of the year from my CO job.

RE: Moving to Miami
So after being here for a month and a week, I feel like I can make a decent assesment of girls here, thought I still feel I have a ton to figure out and discover. Pretty much everything varies widely. Different clubs and parts of town have many different people. Miami is a very diverse city not only racially, but just different type of clicks and crews. You have latinas that are into going to the clubs and getting dudes to buy them drinks all night and you have latinas that are cool as shit and like to kick it at chill bars. It all depends on the day and where you go. Some days I go to the beach and see 2 cute girls walking a half mile. Some days you go to the beach and see 40 hotties in a half mile. I guess it kinda depends on the weather, and I'm sure time of year. I hear some times of the year get ridiculous on south beach. The thing about South Beach that it's a lot of the same shit. Mostly big clubs that are expensive and full of money hungry whores, or lame bars. There are some nice loungy places as well. I feel like the city of Miami is the place to party though. I've been to some real good bars in South Miami and the girls seem much friendlier their as well.

I think in Miami Beach, day game is your best bet. There are some decent clubs that aren't so expensive, but it's weird. For example one of them I went to had a ton of hotties one night, playing hip hop music. The next night there weren't really any hotties and they were playing reggae. The beach is a good spot though. Grab a football and throw it around in the water with your buddies next to some cute girls. "Accidentally" throw it a little off towards the girls and get them to join in on your game. Girls have their guards down much more durring the day. At the club, everybody is trying to hit on the, even if you have tight game, you're probably no more important than the next schmuck because here, som girls won't even give you the time of day to try and spit game. I've had multiple girls not even acknowledge my presence. I mean Miami has girls colder than Vitoria or warm as Rio. It all just depends where you are. Going from the beach to miami is like going from Orange County to New York almost. Not to mention going to South Miami is a whole other world. It's a trip out here, but I'm liking it. I just need to get some wheels because I'm stuck on this damn island. I want to get to exploring. Especially outside of Miami even, like Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Palm Beach.

One other thing I wanted to touch base on from my experiences is that I wouldn't compare it a lot to South America where I've been and the people I've met. I guess I've only really been to Brazil, but I know a lot of South American girls I've met in the states, and the ones here can be much colder than the others I met in small town Aspen. From what I can tell, Miami is much more like gaming in the US than in Latin America. I feel a lot of Latina girls get to Miami and see how all the other girls act and think they need to out bitch them or something. Not all of them, and I think it's more just the beach, but I found girls to be much nicer that I've met from Latin America than from here. But.... I must also add, Brazilian girls around here are still sweet as ever. I don't know if it's because I speak Portuguese and have been to Brazil, but every single one I've talked to has been a sweet heart, minus one ugly one I wasn't really trying to interact with anyways. I was chatting one up for a good 10 minutes before my friends drug me out of the bar to go to the next place. The girl wasn't into me I'm guessing since she wouldn't give me her number (she was also a stem cell researcher and I was hammered), but was still very nice and warm and never once acted like she didn't want to talk, unlike some of the girls who look at you like you're an idiot for even trying to talk to them. I swear, I've never seen such cold girls in my life. Like I said, they're not all like that, there are some real sweethearts too. I feel like there are so many extremes. You can meet the coldest bitches around or you can meet some extremely sweet girls, it all just depends. I guess it's hard for me to asses whether it's more like gaming girls from SA here or from The US because I'm going off other Latina girls I've met in the US, but from all different countries in Latina America. It just seemed to me the ones I met in Aspen were MUCH warmer than a good amount of them I'm meeting out here. I also haven't partied much off the beach though. I asked a Cuban girl I work with, "It seems like the latina girls out here have no love for the white boys, huh?" She told me, "Look where you're at, you've been on the beach this whole time. All girls are bitches around here. You gotta go into the city." I was talking to my friend about it and thinking back and told him, "Man, reguardless if those girls were Latinas or white, I think they still would have been telling us to fuck off." Not to mention the girls were solid 9's that we were using the example with. I'll keep you guys updated the more I find out. But Miami is definitely a cool place from what I've seen.

So your only assessing the latinas in and around south beach? I hope soo because it would be HIGHLY discouraging if they "have no love for the white boys" every where in Miami with a sort of racist stick with their own kind of mentality.

RE: Moving to Miami
Problem is that the majority of his game is SoBe. I recommend SoBe as kind of a mixer to your main venues outside of tourist SoBe. However, playboy has to discover this on his own, as he has been doing so far.

SoBe girls LOVE attention (aka attention whores), and even more, love to be seen by their peers as the girl who has to fight men off with a stick because she is soooo hot! Putting men down or ignoring them as they desperately seek her attention, makes her feel superior, especially when surrounded by her girlfriends.

hell, I once witnessed a blond, stuck up South "Bitch" girl put down/ignore Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in front of her friends (and me), and she probably talks about it til this very day as much as she may want to have fucked him inside her head! Make her feel fantastic to show her girlfriends her power over guys. At the moment, she felt a sense of godly power to turn down a hip-hop artist as he was desperately trying to hit on her and take her back to his suite, but I'm sure she masturbated about it behind closed doors later on.

So, get out of SoBe as much as you can!!

Yeah, I'm definitely discovering I need to go find other spots outside of south beach. Everywhere I've been outside of south beach the women have seemed much more friendly. I just need to get that car man. I'm going to look for a new job tomorrow, I'm just not making enough at my current one.

RE: Moving to Miami
Man, some girls out here are stone cold bitches. Last night a girl that is a 6 at most was standing in front of me. Here is how our conversation went:

She turns around and says:
"That ciggarette smells horrible."

Me:
"You're in a bar, if you don't like the ciggarette smell you shouldn't be in here."

"I can stand the ciggarette smell, but those Parliments smell like shit."

"I'm not even smoking a Parliment. I smoke Marlboro Reds."

"Oh, well whatever, it smells like shit."

I don't remember how the next part of the conversation went exactly, but she said something about how great she was or something and how I'm a loser. I say..

"That's alright, you're not my type anyways."

"Yeah, I'm sure you get much sluttier and insecure girls. Girls that can't get anyone better."

"You mean girls kinda like yourself? No, I told you, you aren't my type."

She goes on about how much of a loser I am and I litterally just say, "okay.... Yep.... Whatever..." She gets pissed because she can tell I really don't give a shit and I'm confident with who I am, so she says, "You know what, I can get you kicked out of here right now, you're a total dick."

I say, "Fine whatever, get me kicked out because you have a shitty attitude."

She tells the bartender, "This kid is a total dick, he needs to get kicked out of here."

The bartender looks at me and says, "Oh yeah, you're a dick, get the hell out of here!" Then smiles and winks at me. I look at him after she leaves and say, "What a crazy bitch." He just starts crackin' up.

I haven't been many places where a girl becomes that much of a kunt when I never approached her in the first place. She went out of her way to be a fucking bitch and start a confrontation. Some of these SoBe girls are really on a whole other level of bitchiness. I don't understand what it is. There are so many hotties, you would think that it would make them more humble with so much compitition, but it's obviously these rich chumps that cater to their behavior and reward them for being bitches that makes them think they can act this way. I was at a very upscale place and kinda expected it. I really didn't try and game much the whole night. The only girls I talked to were Brazilian. One had a major bitch shield, but the other seemed like she really wanted to talk with me, but she was with a group, maybe even a guy, and her friend wanted nothing to do with me. But she looked back at me for a while after we had our 2 minute conversation as she was leaving. She was the hotter one too, go figure. I almost feel like the hotter girls are nicer than the average girls. Maybe the average girls are just bitter because they can't find good men?

Yeah, one of the most poppin hotels out here. It's also one of the busiest bars on the main drag. It may even pay better than I origionally thought. I was talking to a girl I work with from my current job today, her friend used to work there and she said he BANKED. I'm not getting my hopes too high though, we'll see.

Yep, pretty much, unless you are trying to be management. And yes, they definitely hire foreigners. 3 of the maybe 10 people that work in my department are foreign. Most of the staff is actually, but then again a lot of those jobs you wouldn't want. The foreigners in my department even get hooked up with visas. I think I'm gonna slave my ass off and keep both jobs and do a nice trip to South America this summer. Might as well. 4 months of slave work is worth 3 months abroad.

Just broke the news to my boss. She didn't actually get pissed at me, but I could tell she was pretty bummed. I gave her my two week notice for full time work and told her that after two weeks I'll work 3 days a week. She was concerned about the holidays coming up but I told her I'd cover shifts if she needed me to. It's gonna be a loooong two weeks coming up, but the Argentina snowboarding session I'm starting to plan this summer will be well worth it.

That's good. I just remember reading that you were able to get out of that because you had limited access after moving to Colorado. Of course, if you REALLY wanted to do some damage you could. I have a hard time with drinking, it's a constant thing with me not to get too smashed. Miami ain't no Colorado haha I'm jealous.

To tell you the truth man, I still haven't gotten outside of the beach much. It's tough when you work a lot and don't have a car. I just picked up a second job too, so I should have a car pretty soon. I've been having pretty good luck just meeting girls during the day and through people I've met though. I haven't been spending as much time going to clubs and bars. I don't really enjoy the bars and clubs here in SoBe as much as other places I've been. I might go out once or twice a week. It will be different once I get a car and start saving some money though, I'll be checking out much more places outside SoBe. But reguardless of not going out quite as much as I usually do, I'm still liking Miami, it's a nice location and plenty of fly women around.

I moved to Miami from NYC a few months ago and Brickell is definitely where it's at. There is a new spot to hang out at opening every week it seems and this is definitely the hot spot, minus the tourists and attidutes of South Beach. Mixx's recomendations were dead on. Baru Urbano and Dolores are great, but also Brickell Irish Pub, Segafreddo, Novocento, Club 50, and some new places El Bodegon de Brickell in the Four Ambassadors...the list goes on really and best part is, all of these joints are within 5 blocks of each other. I rarely head to Miami Beach, there's just no need. I live right in the heart of Brickell and wouldn't even really need a car if I didn't work out by the Airport.

Also, if you want to get deeper into Miami to more working-class areas, Le Club on Le June road is great and La Covacha also. You probably want to roll with a wing at those spots.
