I already wrote that I have a clean record, I already explained how the encounter happened and admitted I struck the guy first. If alcohol was an issue with me that night I would have included it as part of the reason I made the choices I did. You can say what you want from afar, but clearly you've never been face to face with someone that isn't taking no for an answer, where you have a split second to make a decision. I thought the guy was going to hit me so I hit him first.

I am not objective on this. I've had literally thousands of patients when I worked in prisons, hundreds of whom wrecked their lives forever with 25 to life sentences due to violence. And the parole boards haven't let one out for years. It means LIFE.

All they can do is try to adapt to life inside, never seeing another pussy again. It's very depressing to hear free people who can't understand they're risking their freedom-- forever.

I work in the System too. Keep in mind that what you're hearing is the collective snowjobs/prison excuses of a thousand losers trying to avoid responsibilty for their actions, and has only the slightest connection to reality. Yeah, when they tell the story it sounds like a jam many normal people could get into. It very rarely is. People routinely get away with all kinds of crazy/shity behavior on a daily basis. If I hand to live like a sheep every day, life would really suck. I avoid trouble, but stand up for myself when confronted by douchebags. If you get into the habit of always backing down, the street predators will smell it and target you more.

We don't live in Afghanistan, the mortality rate even for some pretty wild and crazy maniacs is astronomically low. I guarantee there are many people on this forum that regularly take bigger risks with their life/health/freedom driving home after a few drinks than they would standing up for themselves.

How to avoid fights at the club/bar:

Never go to venue alone unless you know the staff.
When you go to a spot where the staff specially the bouncers don't know you, always roll with a least one friend.
There is almost no upside in going out at night alone to a place where you're not known. Low confidence, low social status, girls sense your low social status and dudes see you as an easy target.
If you're known at a spot, you can chat up the bouncers / bartenders and act like you even work there.

The above will avoid 90% of your confrontations.

If you do end up in a fight, don't hit your opponent in the face/head. Learn how to give good body shots and body locks. Beat up his mid section or put him in a lock. You're less likely to cause serious injury which you don't want unless he has a weapon of some sort and threatening your life in which case, kill him first because being dead is worse than being locked up.

In most minor fights try not to get the cops involved if possible. My experience with police has never been pleasant even when I was reporting a crime.

fighting over pussy is never worth it. this is even more true if you have something to loose like assets in litigation following an attack or fight.

i dont know what your economic situation is BUT

my advice is get an umbrella policy with your insurance company its usually less than 1k a yr and this will cover 1 million dollars and up. that way if you fuck him up this policy will cover it.

I dont think its "being a coward" if you run. Me? I dont fight people anymore. Why? its stupid. Wanna start problems with me? I'll leave the bar. I have no problem leaving the bar, going to another one, or just going home. For real, what do you lose out on? A SNL? My pride? Shit, call me a pussy. My pride doesnt get hurt from drunk guys getting in my face and me choosing to evade because its the smart thing to do.

And this whole pride thing is rediculous. I have tons of pride. If I get to the point where I am going to fight someone, there isnt an off switch, I go for the kill. When im to the point of fighting, I'll fight the bouncers too. My whole family has issues with anger and rage so I try and keep it calm. Thats why I only resort to fighting if its means Im backed into a corner and have no way out. Its just not worth it. I ruined my highschool football career 2 years in a row beating peoples ass and breaking my hands. Good luck playing Running Back in a cast. I wish I could have just walked away when people got in my face and instead went on to try and earn a scholarship. I guess that would have been acting "like a pussy" and "having no pride", but I would have been healthy for both seasons. It felt good to win both fights, but not even 24 hours later when I showed up to practice in a cast, the "pride" was gone and I realized it wasnt worth it.

And besides my mother and sister, there is NO women I will fight for. Like some guys said above, I guess thats why women had to become masculine. Your crazy if you think I'm gonna get in a fight or confrontation because someone called a girl I'm with a bitch or accidently spilled a little beer on her head. Shit im half black, I've heard "nigger" in my vicinity or even directed at me, and I normally just ignore it or leave. I try to not let ignorant or drunk people have any effect on my life. Even if a dude swings on me, I just move out the way and get the bouncers. If you guys are staying in top shape, besides getting jumped, you should be able to defend yourself from random average dudes until the bouncers get there.

Some quick advice.

#1. Invest in some real martial arts lessons. I do 8 different arts and I've only been in about 2 fights where I've had to use them. AND only because I was young and too dumb to walk away.

#2. Get your ass down to Mexico NOW... not next month, not next week, right now, pack up everything you own into your car and head for the border... no car? Sell all your sh1t tommorow and take a bus down to Mexico city with the clothes on your back and a brown bag ham sandwich. Jail is not cool at anytime, I've been there and trust me it totally sucks. You can live a kickass life in Mexico in just about any city. If you think you might have time, enroll in a TESOL program for a weekend and then get down there...if not, just make a run for it.

#3. How to avoid bar fights? Don't go to bars. Go to church, the women there are better quality than the trash you'll meet hanging off a bar stool.
Why put yourself in a position where you could be faced with potential danger? Better to spend your weekend at home playing Diablo 3 with some friends or watching a 3D movie on your new set. Better yet, sitting down to a beer and a taco in Mexico with a hot fresa.

Get a job as an English Teacher and forget about all this sh1t. You don't know, the police could be looking for a guy that matches your description right now. If I were you, I'd quit my job and fucking run for thehills. Mexican hills. They're not so bad actually, a place in Toluca, Mexico will only run you 150 dollars per month. Start attending church and thank god everyday for your freedom. If I were you, I would be hitting the road the second I read this message. Trust me, jail is a very real place and going there really really sucks.

As one of my old platoon commanders told me, some ancient wisdom from the venerable Captain D:

'Dangerous people don't seek out trouble'. He's absolutely right. The last time someone tried to start a fight with me at a bar over some girl he went up to me and tried to touch his chest with mine. That's shit so fucking stupid. I threw a straight to his throat, kicked his front knee out of from under him then grabbed him by the hair and introduced his face to the bar counter. I then grabbed a 'weapon of opportunity' as the USMC would call it which was a pool stick in this case and screamed out for his friends since it is idiotic to fight alone. Luckily before shit got really out of hand my friend and the doorman who I was cool with grabbed me and tossed me in my buddy's car and got the hell out of dodge.

I could've easily killed him or at least maimed or crippled him in some capacity and went to jail for years over what? Some stupid pump and dump I wouldn't have bothered to call in the morning. Or maybe one of his friends was packing and full of liquid courage and could've got off a lucky shot and shared my brains with the juke box? Going to prison or getting killed because I needed to prove how tough I was is beyond retarded. I'm not saying be a doormat and let people walk all over you, I'm saying don't fight unless you absolutely have to and in that case, fight dirty.

Now that I'm older I see just how foolish my actions were and I was lucky to have people looking out for me.

Anyway if you fuck with me to the abyss with fighting fairly. Use escalation of force people. You want to fist fight? Great I'm bringing out my knife or collapsible baton. You wanna bring a blade or bludgeon into this? Cool, I sometimes conceal carry (legally) a sig sauer P220. Fighting 'honorably' is going to get you curb stomped or worse.
