RE: Gillette releases new toxic masculinity commercial: "The Best Men Can Be"
Now that Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, is in hot water for soliciting a prostitute, I wonder how Gillette will respond. Remember, the Patriots’ stadium is Gillette Stadium. Let’s see if the company’s “moral compass” is ready to give up that cashcow.

Turns out, once February hit P&G sales dropped about 500,000 units.

But what was the original unit number?

I should have clarified that the number is "units" delivered to store warehouses. So there's a large number of products sitting out there.

Not to mention, the data is being influenced by post Christmas sales. However, the tool takes a look at YOY data. This shows us growth taking seasonal data into consideration. The numbers if I recall we're:

Dec 18: 810k
Jan 19: 620k
Feb 19: 115k

I don't have last year's numbers, but when I looked at 2016 and 2017, the brand had a steady 3-5% growth. When 2019s ad hit, the drop was way beyond normal.

I asked some of our statisticians about it. It's definitely not seasonal or economic l considering their competitors are all doing well.

That's fucking savage.

Love it!

RE: Gillette releases new toxic masculinity commercial: "The Best Men Can Be"
To anyone considering going electric ....

After turning my back on Gillette (after over 20 years) on account of their recent fuckery, I was a little bit concerned about securing decent alternatives. I needn't have worried as like others on here, I've found that there are cheaper no-brand cartridges that fit the fusion, and just as good alternatives elsewhere such as Wilkinson Sword etc.

One thing I didn't consider though, was electric shavers. I haven't used an electric for 30 years after being unimpressed at the time. Recently, a well-meaning relative had heard me ranting about Gillette and bought me a top-end Braun electric shaver as a gift.

I tried it yesterday and was honestly blown away by how good it was. I can only say that they have improved a helluva lot since I tried them all those years ago. This new Braun is absolutely fucking awesome. It charges in less than five minutes, cleans itself (fucking cleans itself!), is waterproof, light, and shaves faster and actually better than my previous Gillette fusion blades did.

As I say, this was a top-end Braun model, so cheap electric razors may still be shit. I'm the last person you'd expect to be singing the praises of electric as I've bad-mouthed them for years, but I'm now a convert. The only thing is, this is something you won't know unless you shell out the cash for a nice shaver, if it wasn't bought as a gift, I would never have known how good they have now gotten.

By the way, I now fully expect someone to now dig out and post a horrific example of Braun being even more sjw-friendly and toxic than Gillette ever was! Please don't though, as I really like my new shaver.

Safety razors are the best, especially in terms of affordability. I use a Merkur 34C with Astra blades. Astra blades are very cheap (got 100 blades for ~20$).

Braun is owned by P&G who also owns Gillette. I have the 7 series and have been happy with it.

My Braun 7 series is good but nothing is as close as a straight razor. The 7 series however is a lot quicker and you wont cut yourself by accident.

Noooooooooooooooooo!!

For fucks sake!! At least I didn't pay with my own money, I suppose.

I had an image in my mind of Braun being a nice family-owned German company that had no truck with the globohomos ..... dammit, the convergence is real.

Oh well, in the words of Marx (Groucho, not Karl);

I loved that new fucking shaver. For two whole days, I loved it. Then CaptainChardonnay came along ... with his facts ..

You can find high-end shavers by Philips which are good. But - avoiding Gillette will be message enough even if the parent company gets to sell some Braun shavers. The managers at Gillette and the push for more anti-male and anti-White propaganda has to be curbed (for now).

I've used a Gillette Sensor for decades.
I just googled "generic blades for Gillette Sensor" and found generics on Amazon for half the price of Gillette's blades.

Should've done this years ago regardless of the stupid commercial.

I was using Astra blades in my safety razor before the Gillette fiasco. I’ve changed to Feather, which is a Japanese company. Hopefully, they are very far removed from P&G.

I almost went back to Gillette after buying a shitty supermarket brand because quality.

I am not going to buy shaving equipment that I have to haul around. I travel and move around too much.

Luckily, I tried Wilkinson Sword disposables. Outstanding product, seems to last forever or at least 10+ shaves.

Feather blades are great. So sharp, they'll cut you if you look at them funny.

Sp5: try Dorco, they make the razors that Dollar Shave Club resells. I switch between a safety razor and the Dorco 2 blade as I feel like it. Cheap and good quality without having to pay for an advertising budget or naming rights to football stadiums.

Bikinis and straw hats. Drop 'em. We're going to need a lot of bleach for that abomination.
