RE: Lessons We Can Learn from Neil Strauss’ Divorce
Well, the good news for Neil is that he got married in 2013, 5 years, so he doesn’t have to pay lifetime Alimony (10 years) or vagina-mony as Tom Leykis would call it.

RE: Lessons We Can Learn from Neil Strauss’ Divorce
I am not all that shocked. I enjoyed The Game when I read it and had just learned about Ross Jeffries and other "pick-up gurus." The ending killed it for me though when he seemed to go back and everything he had learned.

The other thing that really stood out for me in The Game was that the men only seemed interested in slutty train wrecks. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Courtney Love are three women often mentioned in the book. Why would I learn pickup so I can get with women like this? As I read the book, I was often asking myself: "When is Christina Aguilera going to show up?"

And some of the guys in the book (if not all of them) were downright crazy. I remember one section where one of the guys was going to get a wallaby. It was kind of funny, yet also kind of pathetic.

Take a look at George Clooney. He is married to a beautiful woman who is definitely NOT a slutty train wreck.

Really? You're holding up Clooney's worst mistake as a good example of game and marriage? You've got to be kidding.

Exactly! Although his choice for us can be subjective, it will all change once she files for divorce and asks for $500 million.

I personally think men who are worth that much should never get married or if they do make sure the ex can't get her hands on your assets. Pre nups usually mean shit. What a couple earns after marriage etc then the new assets obtained should be fairly distributed. Anyhow that is another topic.

Maybe Amal is pleasant to be around. I know lawyers have a bad rap in this department. Clooney had a different bachelorhood than the rest of us. Celebrity game has its nuances but marriage! The success rate is even lower amongst celebrities so it seems.

To each his her own.

No man should get married unless a) they intend to have kids and b) are willing to accept the inevitability of a future divorce. "Success" in this day and age is a marriage that lasts long enough for the kids to reach adulthood but til-death-do-us-part is a pipe-dream.

I know someone who once began a conversation with "Well, ever since I took the red pill..." and then cited Neil Strauss's book The Game as where he learned it.

Makes me wonder how many other lost souls out there think they learned game by reading that and never advancing past basic (and to a degree, outdated) PUA techniques.

Sooo many PUAs even today, especially if they are naturals, are the furthest thing from red pill in many respects.

RE: Lessons We Can Learn from Neil Strauss’ Divorce
I've noted there are quite a lot of assumptions on this thread.

- She left him (I'd say it's more likely his desire to be with other women is more likely)
- He's getting / going to get ass raped in divorce court (it could work out OK, who knows for sure)

There seems to be a common vibe of 'marriage will end in pain' belief on this forum.

Yes, the odds are stacked against us. 50% end in divorce, and lets say 50% of those who stay together aren't happy (would you really be happier single though?). That leaves us with a 25% chance of a happy marriage (we can argue on exact percentages).

Do you consider yourself in the top 25% of the population in terms of mate selection, game skill and awareness within this domain?

Without getting into a long, drawn out discussion of the assumptions you also make (such as the myth that men who remain alone are destined to be miserable), allow me to point you in the direction of a guru on this subject. I recommend his books, but the videos will get you going.

I liken it to those that boast how 'red-pill' they are and then suggest you material to get 'clued up' like Hollywood movies, Netflix shows, fox news articles and insert book (((author)), (((public commentator)).

You have all totally missed the point about Clooney and his marriage. The point is that the woman is NOT a train wreck. It seems that Strauss was only interested in fucking and marrying train wrecks. And you have a better chance of a successful marriage with a woman who is NOT a train wreck than one who is.

I'm looking at all thir criticism against Neil Strauss and going why?

Strauss put himself out there and got a lot of success, both in game and his craft. Few men achieve this. But what sets him apart is that he is honest and open about things. He may have sex addiction and insecurities but he has been far more open about it than most.

I wish the best for him. Divorce is probably a good thing for him in the long run and I hope he writes about it.

It’s quite possible that this woman is a 5 or less sans make-up. She is not hot at all.

She thinks of herself as a 9 and Neil fell for her frame. She’s “hot by hype”, similar to how someone like Christina Ricci was considered “sexy”.

Full respect to Neil for his contributions to red-pilling many, including me, but I expected a lot more of him.

This girl is massively sub-par for a guy who is still the most famous (but not best) PUA.

^^ This. Now Neil's a 5 (or more like a 4) himself on looks, but he's supposed to make up for that, if not with his "game," then with his money/status. Instead, he married basically his equal in looks. Well then what was the point of his money and fame? Well, he loves to write, in and of itself, and that's super cool, I salute him for his accomplishments on that front, but I'm just saying.

Who knows, I'm probably being too harsh, maybe she was a really nice girl and he liked her for that, and then he was a shitty husband. Could be he has some serious character flaws that meant he was punching above his weight with this woman (if she had good values while he had issues).

No one really knows.

Don't get married in the western world.

Not even to a foreign girl. That's a mistake a lot of guys make. They disregard Western women but then marry a foreign girl and bring her back to the West where she gets poisoned by the environment and people in it until she eventually becomes Western and uses the same Western laws and culture against them that a native-born Western woman would have. If a man desires to marry a foreign woman, it is best that he move to her country (assuming that the laws and culture are not poisonous there) or at least that they both move together to a third country where the laws and culture are such that said country and society likely have a reasonably high chance of surviving into the next century barring some global cataclysm or act of God.

Yes, it's not the women that are the problem, but access to the western legal system. My rule is, only marry women that have no right to live in a western country.

Neil Strauss is a Jewish PUA = He's appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, The View and CBS This Morning (to mention just a few). He also received a publishing deal from Harper Collins in New York. Everywhere he goes, he's treated with good-natured civility.

By contrast, Roosh has been shadow banned, doxxed, threatened, removed from a host of platforms, etc.

This is not a fair assessment at all.

How much “Jewish privilege” did Bret Weinstein get from Evergreen State College and then the mainstream media in 2017/18? None. Comparing ca. 2006, Neil’s heyday, and 2015 through 2019 is like juxtaposing chalk and cheese.

When Neil Strauss wrote his book, among countless other things, Hillary Clinton and a then unknown Barack Obama were adamantly against gay marriage.

Transgenders were still widely considered mentally ill.

Both major parties were in favor of a border wall and funding for it.

Times were very different.

In addition, Neil Strauss was hardly ever a threat to liberalism. He was a storyteller first and foremost, like a gateway pill to the red pill. Nothing more. Either being prescient or commercially-minded (I say both), he saw the writing on the wall and adjusted his position to even more milquetoast ideas about relationships and his secret “society”. Bland and non-threatening alleyways that do not advocate for or lead to any upending of the system. Same goes for Tucker Max.

The treatment of Roosh has been obscene for a long time. On that point I totally agree with you. But even milquetoast Neil Strauss would have seen The Game banned had he published it in 2019.

They turned up the heat on Roosh when he got slightly political and he didn't back down. It's been a massive hit job since then. Now, it seems with little else to lose Roosh is just poking the bear. By contrast, Strauss did his PUA thing almost 20 years ago, remained apolitical and really wasn't all that red pilled either. He's an even bigger beta now.

Today, any guy trying to make a living from overtly promoting the well being of heterosexual men would be almost equally at risk of doxxing, threats and bans regardless of deliberate efforts to avoid politics. For example, Rollo Tomassi is walking on thin ice every day and he knows it.

EDIT - I don't think Strauss and definitely not Tucker Max saw any political writing on the wall, I think they just failed to adapt. Tucker Max in particular fell apart, producing a shitty movie after some brief notoriety over his frat house antics. He really had nothing else to say. In the end both of them got very beta once married.

I was listening to a podcast and just heard about a super famous PUA divorcing.
I searched online to see this forum would have anything and this thread popped up.

Wow, I did not know about this!

This is crazy as someone who initially learned about "game" through RSD...
I read the book "Game" and although the book was outdated, it was a fun read and it really amplified my interested in game. I didn't know about this. That's crazy that I kinda wanted to read his other book called, "Truth" and possibly even thought about taking his "healing" programs...Wow
