Also, the literature is there on the premises if you want to dig deeper and the clergy are around if you have questions.

Going from house-to-house or visiting countries to preach might make the people doing this feel good and it might convert some folks. But it doesn't seem too effective because it doesn't take into account human nature. Most people like don't strangers coming up to them with unsolicited advice.

The acts of the apostles prove otherwise. There was plenty of preaching and action as well.

But I do agree that preaching should occur in appropriate times and places.

Public places like the Synagogues and temples or the Agora where ideas are discussed and debated.

And in households of those who may be interested and select groups of Christians.

When you think about it, Chau was a pretty nasty character. First, he knew he was breaking the law. Then he disguised his trip as a fishing trip to get around the authorities, i.e. the Navy and Coastguard. Very dishonest and using deception. Then he paid a bunch of fishermen $325, an enormous amount of money to poor people, knowing that he would get them into trouble. He apparently doesn't care about the diseases he could be giving to remote people and believes he is above the law. He self righteously talks about his death, but doesn't think about the poor people that will risk their lives to retrieve his stinking corpse. Then he actually believes he is a good person. I don't see any difference between Chau and a deluded SJW virtue signalling on Facebook. He disproves his own philosophy as being wicked by his actions which evidence low ethics and low morality. He had nothing to teach to anyone. Good riddance to trash.

Sucks he died. Did it to himself though. Risked killing off an entire culture because of hubris. If he was truely committed to introducing christ he would have worked with a linguist and anthropoligist to get those people messages. He also influenced poor fishermen with western wealth to commit crimes in his stead.

I think the whole situation with this tribe is sort a hilarious double standard on politically correct thinking re: race.

Honestly, we're treating this far flung tribe the same way we treat endangered animals. We're one step away from sending in special forces to tranq a few then staple tags to their ears and strap tracking collars around their necks to monitor their migratory patterns and keep a track of their wellbeing.

On the other hand we regard them as human beings, of course, and we regard them as having sovereignty over their little island. But what if a shitlord nation rigged up a smoke and mirrors show capable of convincing this tribe that their emissary was a god? What if the tribesmen became the thralls of that nation and pledged their lives and loyalty to that ambassador? What if they agreed to house ICBMs for that nation? Would we continue to treat them like animals in a reserve or would we suddenly decide that they should be treated like any other nation, with international obligations and consequences for regional meddling?
