It was a foolish and misguided endeavor on this young fellas part for sure. He believed in his cause as many young men do and he thought he was doing the right thing. However he also posed a threat to that tribe for reasons already listed in this thread.

I'm not going to hold a candle light vigil for this guy... however I'm also not gonna be a holier than thou internet troll and relish his death either.

If that adventurer had left when that first arrow hit his knee, he could have had a long productive life as a guard somewhere.

Right. So even if the Moors or Turks somehow destroyed Christianity in Europe ~ the Europeans would had found ways to change Islam (either going Kharijite, Shia or inventing a brand new liberalized branch of Islam).

People seem to think religion defines people when it's culture and/or genetics (admitting to the latter is extremely taboo). Afghanistan could be Christian and probably still be a shithole (kind of like the Christian Warlords in Africa). Or the Philippines which was once considered the 2nd wealthiest country in Asia (largely due to American subsidizes and investments) and now is among the poorest after the US had largely pulled out of there.

How come there are no Indian Incels going all Hernan Cortez on this island? Hell we see Chinese in the boonies of African mining for gold so they could do this too.

Based off the photos - I doubt there's even 1,000s of natives on the island. Probably maximum 500. Just bring some chainmail armor and Kalashnikov, shoot all the men, enslave the teenagers to do some plantation work and keep the women as fuck toys / breeding machines.

It must be fascinating to find out what they think about their place in the world. Imagine, you're an isolated tribe on a tiny island with no direct contact with the outside world. Yet you know something about it - you've seen fishing boats, enormous gleaming military vessels, helicopters, airplanes, coca cola bottles and fishing nets that wash ashore. You've heard the stories passed down through the generations about tribes from nearby islands who were wiped out by strange foreign creatures. You are aware of other humans (are they humans or something else?) who possess fantastic unexplainable powers. Yet none of them dare set foot on your land, and the ones who come close seemingly flee at the sight of your painstakingly handcrafted military hardware. Are you blessed and protected by the gods? Do you possess magical powers which terrify these strange alien beasts? With the knowledge you have available, the only rational conclusion is that you are the most powerful group in the world and that you sit at the top of the food chain.

And I'll bet that these guys are physically and mentally among the healthiest on the planet, with a completely natural diet, natural sleep patterns, abundant leisure time, no artificial stresses etc. I know that if I were transplanted into their world, I wouldn't last more than a month. Yet I can't help being slightly envious of their lives.

Usually people who wash up on deserted islands either die of starvation or become near anorexic. Actually how these natives stay fed is what I am curious about. They probably do have potatoes or something deep in the forest. Or they are fishing for most of the day (which means not much leisure time and might also explain why they're so quick to intercept foreigners).

With generations of accumulated knowledge where they have precise knowledge of every inch of their territory, and a population size kept in check in the absence of medicine and advanced technology, there is no reason they don't have access to adequate amounts of food. As for leisure time, every study of hunter gather tribes from all areas of the planet show that they enjoy abundant leisure time. Even with primitive tools, there's no reason it would take all day to catch enough fish, especially in waters that are unplundered by outsiders and teeming with life.

That island’s been isolated for a reason, but that jackass thought he’d be the annointed one to bring the savages up to current times? All because he had ”nothing but love” for them?

RE: Boy goes to isolated island
There is a huge amount to learn from this tribe. They have survived for 60,000 years for a reason. Watch, listen, and learn from them. This is how your ancestors managed to survive so you could be around. This is pure intelligence in action.

I read one report which said they use to attempt pig giving expeditions to the islands where they would smile and offer them a yummie roasted pig. The Sentinelese warriors would bury the pig. Yes, Yes Yes. This is a major inspiration in a world where we are surrounded by morons who put their names and faces on facebook for any stranger to see.

What do you do when a stranger smiles, waves a book at you, and says he wants to be your friend? Answer: Apply poison to arrow and shoot. If body moves, try another arrow. Or get friends and apply a dozen arrows at once.

Looking at it objectively, they did the right thing. This law-breaking idiot could have easily wiped them out with his bacteria and virus infested body. And even worse, his intention was to infest their brains with poison, which would have instantly destroyed a culture that has survived for 60,000 years.

RE: Boy goes to isolated island to teach about Christianity and love of God - Gets killed
Parts of his diary were given to the media by his mother:

Man killed on remote Indian island tried to 'declare Jesus' to tribe

Quote:An American man who was killed by an isolated tribe on a remote Indian island wrote to his parents hours before his death that he wanted to “declare Jesus” to the tribespeople and that they should “not be angry at them or at God if I get killed”.

John Allen Chau, 26, is believed to have been hit with a volley of arrows shortly after making land on North Sentinel Island, part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, last Friday.

The island, which is off-limits to visitors without permission, is home to a 30,000-year-old tribe that is known to aggressively resist outsiders.

Chau repeatedly tried to contact the tribespeople and managed to reach the island the day before he was killed. He tried to offer gifts of fish and a football, he wrote in his diary.

“I heard the whoops and shouts from the hunt,” Chau wrote in an entry that was given to several media outlets by his mother. “I made sure to stay out of arrow range, but unfortunately that meant I was also out of good hearing range.

“So I got a little closer as they (about six from what I could see) yelled at me, I tried to parrot their words back to them. They burst out laughing most of the time, so they probably were saying bad words or insulting me.

“I hollered: ‘My name is John, I love you and Jesus loves you.’ I regret I began to panic slightly as I saw them string arrows in their bows. I picked up the fish and threw it towards them. They kept coming.

“I paddled like I never have in my life back to the boat. I felt some fear but mainly was disappointed. They didn’t accept me right away.”

One of the tribespeople – “a kid probably about 10 or so years old, maybe a teenager” – fired an arrow that struck his Bible, he wrote that night, onboard a boat he had paid fishermen 25,000 rupees (£275) to let him stay on, moored close to the island. “Well, I’ve been shot by the Sentinelese.”

The next day as he prepared to make another approach, Chau wrote a letter to his parents. “You guys might think I’m crazy in all this, but I think it’s worth it to declare Jesus to these people,” he wrote.

“Please do not be angry at them or at God if I get killed. Rather, please live your lives in obedience to whatever he has called you to and I’ll see you again when you pass through the veil.

“This is not a pointless thing. The eternal lives of this tribe is at hand and I can’t wait to see them around the throne of God worshipping in their own language, as Revelations 7:9-10 states.”

He signed off: “Soli deo gloria” (glory to God alone).

But his diaries revealed less certainty about the mission he was undertaking. “If you want me to get actually shot or even killed with an arrow, then so be it,” he wrote, addressing God. “I think I could be more useful alive though.

“I don’t want to die. Would it be wiser to leave and let someone else continue? No. I don’t think so. I still could make it back to the US somehow, as it almost seems like certain death to stay here.”

He gave the diary and letter to the fishermen and took a kayak back to the island. The fishermen told police they saw the tribe dragging away and burying Chau’s body the following day.

Seven people including five fishermen have been arrested for helping Chau reach the island. The Indian government recently lifted a ban on tourists going to the island, but Denis Giles, an activist for tribal rights in the Andamans, said state authorities still asked people to seek permission, and the status of the island was “a grey area”.

Police said Chau had visited the Andamans, which are scattered across the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, four times in the past three years.

His family posted on his Instagram on Wednesday that they forgave his killers and asked for those who helped him to be released. They said Chau was a “beloved son, brother and uncle” as well as a Christian missionary.

“He loved God, life, helping those in need, and had nothing but love for the Sentinelese people,” the family said. “We forgive those reportedly responsible for his death.”

The Sentinelese are estimated to number about 100 and are the most isolated of the four tribes native to the Andamans.

British colonists kidnapped four members of the tribe in the 19th century and Indian anthropologists managed to make limited contact with the community starting in 1967, but for the past 25 years the group has been isolated from the outside world.

Members of the tribe fired arrows at Indian government helicopters that passed over the island after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and again in February 2006 after two fishermen were killed by the tribespeople when their boat became unmoored at night and drifted to the shore.

Indian authorities said it would take “some days” to recover Chau’s body. Dependra Pathak, the head of the region’s police, told Agence France-Presse that a helicopter and a ship had been sent to the area to identify where he might be buried.

“We maintained a distance from the island and have not yet been able to spot the body,” Pathak said. “It may take some more days.”

The recovery effort involved anthropologists and tribal welfare and forestry officers, he said. “We have to take care that we must not disturb [the Sentinelese] or their habitat by any means. It is a highly sensitive zone and it will take some time,” Pathak added.

What a fool.

As stated above, this tribe have form for not reacting well to outsiders; as soon as I saw the report I knew who it was referring to. What this young guy did was pretty well suicidal.

People like you are the reason why the West finds itself in the sorry state it is right now. No limits, no culture, no morals, no religion, no future - only a misguided ideology that demonstratively has already managed to ruin the lives of 100 of millions of people.

Going there to proselytize wasn't the greatest idea for sure but I don't think this deserves to be judged with Schadenfreude.

This isn't about limits, morals, or religion. This is about minding your own business and not "helping" people who didn't ask for help.

This what enrages people about SJWs and Christian missionaries. They stick their nose into other people's affairs trying to "correct" them and "put them right." They want to push a specific set of beliefs on everyone, arrogantly believing only *they* know the correct ways.

If people want help, they'll ask. As a country we seem to have forgotten this. We have become a nation of busybodies, bothering people in other countries and telling adults in our own country what they can and can't read, say, think, or believe.

What we saw here is group of people essentially saying "MYOB!" with actions instead of words.

Chau was white? Dude this is some sort of Chinese or Korean-American missionary.

Otherwise, I agree with your sentiment. It was foolish mistake but those on the thread laughing at him or saying that Christianity is not a pillar of the West are the same kind of Black Pillers who say the West cannot be saved and that Game is too hard in [insert current year]. These are not the people who can help us turn this boat around (no pun intended).

You got me on this one. Guess it sounded too much like a the type of white middle class religious zealot that usually puts himself/herself into these types of situations.

I wish his courage and beliefs would have been channeled into a more productive direction. What also gets me is that his parents would let him do this, but again I probably don't know the whole story.

But once again, he was a) White and b) Christian, and as a 2nd class world citizen he clearly was [fill in derogatory adjective of your choice]

By his looks and name, it looks like he was half-Asian. There can be some strange racial dynamics in that kind of upbringing, as evidenced by the existence of people like the reddit hapas and "I-hate-my-race-traitor-Chinese-mom-but-also-despise-Asians" Eurasian Tiger.

He was probably Korean. People think it's an Atheist country but a good 1/3 seem to be hardcore Christians. You can't even browse Pornhub because the Christian groups there made the Government block it along with other porn sites. I was able to browse porn in Georgia and I'm pretty sure you can do it in the Philippines.

Knew a bunch who would go to India (not to this island though) to go convert some Hindus (who I think are just pretending to be Christian because Koreans love to give free food, money and sometimes even jobs to converters).

Yet their fertility rate is 0.92! Strange?

We will stomp to the top with the wind in our teeth.

It's because they're seriously overpopulated and the younger generation is too Westernized.
