Private vs. Public Instagram account

I read through the thread and didn't see anyone discuss having a private Instagram account and how it affects your game. I have a private Instagram account because I don't want my business/career contacts, crazy-exGFs, and side chicks viewing my fuckboii Instagram account. But I feel having a private account hurts my Instagram game.
For example, 1) girls I meet take a long time to request to follow me, 2) some question why I have it private and think it's weird, 3) it's harder to do solo Instagram game, and 4) others just flat out refuse to follow and never get a chance to see my high value page (not crazy high value, but shows I have a better lifestyle than the girls).

With Tinder going to shit lately, I think Instagram is the future of online dating. Once girls see my page it's been a lot easier to bang them. What do you guys think? Should I bite the bullet and set it public? Or do you have tips for guys that want to keep a private Instagram account?

It's all a numbers game and getting girls to follow you is hard...many girls might follow you only to unfollow you later too.

Getting hot girls to follow your Instagram stories frequently is even harder but if you take the long term view it helps as you get the analytics that they watching .

2 years ago I hardly knew what Insta was and now I'm banging hot girls sometimes 1/2 my age in part due to this platform.

I want to get instagram now cause I see how important it is in having have easier access to the hottest girls. One thing tho is I can't really show my face publicly to much since I got in some trouble and want to kinda of lay low. I was thinking of getting an instagram but I can't really show my face on it, I'll be getting a nice motorcycle likely a ducati and I'm thinking most of my pictures would be like on my bike with my helmet on or something. From there I'd just dm girls and try to talk on their but would haveing no pictures of my face on my insta profile lower my chance to successfully dm girls? I guess I could kinda make it look like motorcycles are my niche and then maybe girls wouldn't be wondering why I have no pictures of just me on it. I also don't have any friends really/social circle so it could solve that problem to I guess.

I'm in my early 20s and I'd rate my face like an 8.5 and my body a 5 (skinnyfat and really need to start working on my physique which I will start on soon).

What about my life do you think I need to fix? If it's the trouble part then yeah of course I am thinking about that constantly. But the social circle/friends part honestly I've been solo so long I don't think I could ever have a regular friendship I don't think like that anymore. And the physique part yeah I'm getting right on that it's one of my top priorities.

I use the Instagram game, but I automate it a bit differently. First of all, I have multiple Accounts (travel and personal). I have a bot (free), ANd the trick I've found is to target hashtags that the most desperate of people (ideally mostly female base) tag. For example, a specific hairstyle or facial product is a hashtag that only desperate girls will bother tagging in their pic, and Its also unlikely to be a saturated spam tag. Now you will have mostly real accounts you follow, and who is likely to engage with your content, thus boosting you on the algorithm.

Your goal is basically faking fame/importance, so women will see you as the best hypergamous choice, in a sea of "hey I saw you on tinder, how are you?". Not an ideal field to play on, but it can be a relatively passive option.

Yeah I'm not saying it's worse than messaging on Tinder, but the reason OPs study was so flawed is that he only used Tinder connected IGs. The guy in these videos had his sister create a Tinder account and connect her IG and in a day she gets like 150 new followers and a ton of messages. You are just one of the dozens when you slide in that way.

Also, it's pretty cringey to hear some of those messages. I think it's funny that basically the only guy she gave her number to was fucking Terrell Owens. That's what you are competing with in LA Tinder haha.

Anybody using IG Stories?

These are an excellent way of gauging interest and finding out just who is scoping out your social media. It's also not obvious to many users that you can see who is viewing your stories, one of the only social media platforms allowing this kind of transparency.

I have one ex who is using a fake account (I have blocked her other accounts) to check up on me every other day. There are also girls I have met only through business, who check out my stories every single time I post something new. You can tease them about stalking you or something and take it from there.

If anything, it's a great way of seeing who is taking an active interest in you.

I posted a schedule of my fall plans on my story yesterday and got like 15 replies, basically all from girls either in the cities I'm visiting or saying how jealous they were of my plans... I know who I'll be hitting up first in each city haha.

Side note: I really wish Instagram enabled a location feature so you could search let's say Krakow, and see who follows you/ you follow from Krakow. It's so hard to keep track of sometimes.

You can use the little bookmark flag icon under her pic to put girls into groups, that’s the closest way I’ve found to keep them organized.

If you swipe past their story quickly, like half a second to the next chick does it still show up as you viewing her story or do you have to view the whole thing?

On my instagram I currently have around 1600 followers and I follow back 1100. Pretty high engagement likes as these are mostly people from my facebook (5000 friends maxed out) / real life.

Is it really worth getting to 10k followers? I can do it likely in a year-6 months if I put in like 20 minutes of work a day to it but is it even worth it game wise?

I feel like 1000 followers is fine and then after that it's diminishing returns unless it's directly helping your business which to me doesn't help that much.

Not to mention having to navigate through so much noise on my feed.

If a girl sees 10k+ followers is it really going to make a difference to 1k? I can see how it can be a dhv at 500k or 1mil+ but 10k just makes it look like you try to hard at social media but don't really have what it takes to be famous. Opportunity costs...

The difference between 600 and 1,600 isn't going to make a difference. 5,000+ it starts to make a difference, and 10,000+ you'll definitely notice. If you are doing it manually though that is way to time consuming, get a bot or a company to do the work for you.

My problem with instagram is that many chicks are too nosy, the first thing they do when asking for your IG is checking who is following you, if there is a majority of young chicks then they tell you you are a player and it’s dead with them. This has been a cockblock for me a few times.

Never in the years I have had instagram, has a girl looked at my followers as the first thing she does. The first thing she does is look at your pictures, and I'll say this, you could have pictures of the 7 wonders of the world, but the first picture she will look at is if you have a picture with a girl in it. I actually can't even fathom a situation where a girl looked at my followers, seeing a bunch of girls, and losing a set because of it... and that's out of 100s of sets. In the situations where this happened, how did you reply? I'm guessing that was more of an issue than the actual followers.

I guarantee you that a lot of women in their 30s who are screening for a potential LTR will check your followers.
I usually don't bother with these chicks as I find this behavior too unhealthy but I probably missed a few bangs because of this.

Interesting comment. Almost all the forum guys I have on IG have a don't show girls policy or will only show girls rarely in a setting where it's not obvious that it's your girl. I've done it differently so far. I too believe in pre-selection through social media, however, it comes with a lot of headaches as well.

Girls will respond and be interested, but then I basically have to get their whatsapp and delete them after on IG, if not they will keep seeing pics with other girls, while they themselves have just been added to the harem, which is a liability. So then you have girls asking if you deleted your IG page with thousands of followers (that's how it shows up when you block em). In extreme cases, they might even ask their friends to look for your IG and then you're fucked.

So far, it has been a different exercise in showing value and pre-selection and not burning already established rotation girls through it. I just wish IG had more privacy options such as facebook, where you can choose the audience for every pic.

I have 2 pictures with girls, one funny one with a girl in a bikini in Vegas about 20 pictures back, and one with a girl that's a bit more serious, but like 40 pictures back. I definitely don't think it hurts, both the girls are really attractive so I think the pre-selection helps.

My stories have girls every other night of the week. I'm sure I've lost some potential lays over the years, but I've also had a bunch of girls hit me up even though they know I'm a fuck boy or whatever. I kind of just live with the mantra of take it or leave it. If a girl is going to get jealous of me partying with girls while I'm travelling the world, I'll be able to survive without her. If the girl is exceptionally hot, a bunch of them reply with comments about the girl, I think it's pretty funny. You always can block stories, where obviously there is a risk she'll see it from someone else's insta, but most likely she'll just think you stopped posting stories.

I think it comes down to the bar that you set with the girl. If you make yourself out to be some holier than tho man waiting to meet his princess, but you IG shows you are partying and hanging out with other girls, it might turn her off. If the girl knows you are just backpacking and having a good time, she probably won't be so turned off assuming she liked you in the first place.

I have a question for the IG pros, though it's not game related.

Has anyone ever 'promoted' a post? How much did it cost and how did it work?

I want to use this feature to promote my bands music.

We uploaded a few songs as videos to IG, but when I tried to promote it it said the resolution wasn't high enough to promote.

Basically I took the recorded track and put a picture as the background, that is all I know how to do as far as putting music to videos.

Instagram co-founders have just jumped the ship. Does that mean is Instagram about to sink like all the past overhyped technology such as, for example, Altavista or MySpace (does anyone remembers what it was for) did?

Will it become, say, in 2-3 years time passé to have had an IG account?
