What he said was a fact. He got in trouble for not telling a lie that women want to hear.

This is so obvious it shouldn't even have to be said. And yet the fix is in, and all the U.S. reporting I have seen is thrashing the official and defending her. We are a seriously delusional culture when you get in trouble for not telling a shared preferred lie.

I have only seen criticism of her on the Daily Caller site, and they had to go all the way to Australia to find a journalist critical of her.

All the newspapers are saying the official antagonized her into the outburst.

This woman has had her ass seriously coddled by the media and now she is spoiled and thinks she can do no wrong.

And everyone in the media is scared stiff of criticizing her or holding her accountable.

And she is expert at playing the victim game. Remember what she said when John McEnroe engaged in the heinous offense of saying she was the greatest woman tennis player of all time?

She insinuated that it would damage her pregnancy.

She is the greatest female tennis player of all time. She just got humbled a tiny tiny bit, and she is going to learn nothing from it because everyone is going to tell her it was someone else's fault; she is in the process of hamstering her bad behavior away and convincing herself she is the victim.

I mean honestly. This is no big deal. She is still the greatest of all time. Her career is winding down. A younger player was beating her badly, and so she had a melt down and luckily now she can blame the loss on someone else.

She is a big baby kicking and screaming and hoping it will keep the tennis wall, among other walls, at bay.

Of course this completely undermines the umpire's career. Serena has made millions over the years. Even in losing she made over a million dollars. However this coach's career is now toast. Even if he was right, the situation is too political and he is dispensable.

Regarding Serena, one has to be clear, frank and precise. So, I'd just like to say, in details, why I dislike he:

(s)he called the umpire a liar and a theif, which is actually worse than calling the umpire an idiot. Saying that the umpire is in effect cheating is worse than a personal insult in the context of sport and clearly warrants a code violation. So does smashing your racket. The coaching thing is debatable, given that it's fairly prevalent, but it doesn't excuse the other two incidents which are clearly obvious code violations.

Even IF there was a sexist dual standard about what is allowed to be said to the umpire, (s)he was playing against another woman who was playing to the same rules as her. It strikes me as just a pathetic attempt to unsettle the opponent and/or bring the lime light back to her (him).

All this said with a straight face while women play 3 sets and men play 5...... ? The funny thing about the whole incident is that the race card couldn't be played because the other player had even more minority points than her. Although presumably fewer steroids.

The umpire only earned $633 your officiating the match, while Williams and Osaka made a combined $8 million. Seems pretty low for a match where so much is at stake.

Also, it seems that coaching during the match is permitted in women's tennis except in grand slam tournaments, whereas it is never permitted in the men's game. I wonder why that is.

For me, this isn't about Serena Williams at all. She can do what she wants. I don't know her.

I liked her when she first arrived in women's tennis, and thought she was attractive too.

Pre-manosphere, I had already bailed out on women's tennis because of the banshee screaming of women's tennis players, which made it unwatchable to me, though I felt guilty about it because teamwoman.

Post manosphere the biggest issue is whether or not Kournikova still looks hot and whether or not that Romanian player with the huge hooters who got a breast reduction has let me down personally.

What chaps my ass is the post-truth nature of media and culture, and how everyone moves in lockstep to distort reality in the same way time and again.

This latest incident is just a salient example of liars lying, and even worse, pretending to have some moral high ground while they lie.

That is no knock on Serena at all.

She just happens to be in the middle of a society wide mental complex that weakens everyone and makes us sitting ducks for hard times when truth needs to be spoken and dealt with.
