Today I came to the revelation that I'm glad that this situation worked out the way that it did. Even though I had deleted her contact, all her pics off my computer and phone, and unfriended her on facebook, I couldn't help myself and just briefly looked at her fb profile and noticed that she put a new cover pic of her feet and her new husbands feet. What this tells me was that she was seeing this dude behind my back and that whole victim crap about her parents forcing her to marry him was bullshit. I'm so glad that I put my needs above hers and didn't quit my job and go to her immediately. At that time when I found out the news, I was devastated and angry at god and the universe for having me go through that pain but now I can see the light. I'm actually really grateful for what they did for me and showed me that she was a liar and very manipulative. I'll be honest though, I had a lot of doubts with my decision to not go there immediately or in the past when she had asked me because I needed to save up enough money and also get my projects done first. If I had succumbed to the temptation and gone, then not only would all of my money been gone, and I would have been chucked to the side once I got back home and be exactly where I was a year ago.

I used to think that only a select few girls were the cunning whorish manipulative types, but as time goes on and I get more and more experience, I am finding out that all girls can be this if the opportunity presents itself. This now makes me vary wary about trusting females unconditionally. From now on, I'll let their actions speak for them. They say actions speak louder then words.

Spend time with your family (no matter how strained the relationship may or may not be), clear up any loose ends (apartment rentals, utilities, car payments, phone plans, ext.) and finally get some last minute stuff done such as notifying your bank that you're leaving, ext. ext.

I'm not sure whether Vietnam takes credit cards or not or if it's a mostly cash only society (I'm assuming the latter), but nevertheless you might find yourself abroad in a country that does have a high usage of credit cards. If that's the case, having a credit card that has zero overseas transaction fees is invaluable.

Many of the credit cards give you different types of insurance as well. It's much easier to get your money back from credit fraud than it is to get your money back from debit card fraud.

Haha something like that. I plan to quit on friday and then fly out on sunday. I don't think I can take a week off because the ticket prices change weekly in huge increments. If a wait a week, it goes up by an extra $300-400 bux so it's not worth it. This is why I wanted to give myself at least 1 day of rest before flying out. I'm gonna try and book premium economy seats which cost an extra $500 but then I can kind of sleep on the flight. Last time I fly to Vietnam on cathay pacific economy, I couldn't sleep at all because the seats were too damn cramped and legs were hurting after 3-4 hours in the air.

It's fine for flights of 8 hours or less but on a 22+ our flight. It ain't worth the cost savings, at least for me anyways.

I don't think I need to give 2 weeks notice, it's a temp to permanent job and I won't be here for 3 months. I don't think you need to give 2 weeks notice if you work less than 3 months at a company, and besides fuck this company. The supervisors are pricks and like to micromanage the employees. I talked with several of the employees and they all said the supervisors were pricks and the dude that hired me quit last week so I don't even feel bad about it lol.

I have two credit cards, although I only use one because of the cashback. I don't think any credit cards here in canada even have zero foreign transaction fees, mines is like 2.5%. Canadians get screwed over in the banking department here.

I'm gonna be taking a few grand with me on the flight and the rest I plan to withdraw as needed once I'm in vietnam. I'm gonna call my bank and ask them about how to withdraw money when I'm in vietnam.

Shoot at least 30 videos
Hit 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time on youtube
Look for other business opportunities while there. What problem can I solve for people?
Book a hotel once I arrive and spend 3-7 days there while scouting for a long term rental
Learn how to drive a motorbike? Traffic is crazy in Saigon and I don't want to die though because of some drunk idiots driving.
Continue studying Vietnamese with my tutor
Network and make friends with locals
Meet up with my Vietnamese friends and brainstorm video shoot ideas and then shoot the videos
Look at collaborating with other youtubers (already have 2-3 in mind)
Get a sim for my cellphone


Dating:

Get professional photos taken by a photographer to use for your dating profile (get done by week 2)
Line up at least 4 girls for the first two weeks I am there
Have friend introduce you to girls
Buy a made to measure suit(navy blue?) and 2-3 made to measure dress shirts
Approach 30-50 girls on my first week there
Get 20 numbers
Go on at least 2 dates

Update:


Business/Money:

I have rented a P.O box and finally figured out how to setup an email autoresponder to acquire email addresses. It took me several hours but I'm glad it's finally finished. Now the only things left for me to do for my book is to doublecheck it rigorously again, format it to the proper format for both ebook and print and then upload it to the website then I'm done!

Then I can finally focus all my efforts on youtube and just studying Vietnamese. I'm considering extending my departure date by 3 weeks if I cannot get all the stuff I need finished in time (1 month).

Fitness/Health:

My weight seems to have plateaued. I need to get it down a bit further. My weight's alright and I look normal and fit into all of my old clothes but I would like to be another 8-10 lbs lighter to get that really shredded look. I'm also trying to get back into weight lifting again on a regular basis but my body hasn't adapted to my early bedtime and waking up cycles yet leaving me very exhausted as my body adjusts.


A forum member suggested that I start writing down my strengths and weaknesses and what I can do about them so here goes:


Strengths:

Very persistent
Hardworking
Willing to research and look for answers to problems
Some artistic ability and creative
Pick up technology somewhat quickly
A sense of humor
Have been told I am charismatic by people

I pretty much taught myself everything about self-publishing, film-making, youtube, marketing, adobe apps, in a relatively short period of time. I am not an expert by any means and continue to study and expand my skillset.


Weaknesses:

Stubborn and unwilling to give up my ways
Very emotional and have a difficult time controlling my emotions (need to work on this the most)
Low self-esteem (as my confidence grows, I believe my self-esteem will improve)
Not focused (learning to be better at this through past experience)
Take criticism very personally (I need to stop giving a shit what people think about me)
Focus too much on the small details instead of looking at the big picture
Not much in the way of self-love
Need to rebuild my social network here in Toronto (I got rid of all of my old childhood friends because they were highly toxic and negative and never had any positive things to say. My ex-friends will never understand because they never experienced anything like that before and are completely complacent with there lives.)

Why are you studying Vietnamese? Learning a whole new language other than your native or what you're already semi-decent at takes a lots of effort and commitment.

Are you doing that because you are confident in settling in Vietnam and going to find a Vietnam girl? You don't necessary have to be good at the girl's native language to score with them (unless it's Russian women, then yeah maybe)

Good question. I'm studying it because it's a part of my culture, I plan on doing business there and living there long term in the future. Also it helps to be able to understand and communicate with the girls if I wish to have a long-term relationship with them. lastly if I'm doing business there, I want to be able to know if they are talking shit about me or trying to scam me. If they know that I already speak decent Vietnamese, they will less likely try to pull a stunt like that off.

I'm fairly confident now that I will probably most likely settle with an asian girl although not sure from which country yet though. I already speak ok Chinese so that's crossed off my list if I ever wanted to be with a chinese girl. I know my family will be welcoming of either a chinese or vietnamese girl, not that I care what they think, but at least I won't have to deal with extra drama if that ever happened. I also have plans to study abit of japanese or korean in the future once I've gotten my vietnamese to a decent level because at the moment, vietnam has a lot of expats from korean and japan doing business there, and I'm also attracted to japs and koreans as well. But we'll see what happens in the future. At the moment, my attention is mainly focused on vietnam now.

It just makes sense that I would settle with a asian chick now. I wasn't so keen on this before I had traveled to Asia and wanted a white chick as a gf. Almost all of the asian girls here in Toronto are butt ugly, no ass, no chest, and full of attitude and they seem to have some bias towards asian guys because they have been programmed by western ideals to become white washed and asian hating.

It wasn't until I went to Vietnam did I discover what I was missing out on. I saw lots of cute girls and even some hot ones which I never imagined. Nearly every single one of them was feminine and a lot had great bodies. My perception of them was completely shattered and that's when I found my love for asian women again.

Also I have lots of family in vietnam so I know I'll always have company and support if I ever needed it. Vietnam is considered one of the fastest growing economies in SEA and I think in about 10-20 years, it will be a world class country. I'm just simply planning ahead and want a head start. I think I missed the boat on china but I'll be there ready in Vietnam when it happens though.

I thought about Korea but I also know they have a plastic surgery problem there. I read somewhere that its like at least 25% of the females have had plastic surgery done. I don't want to get involved with a chick and always have in the back of my mind that perhaps she had work done to enhance her looks and she could have been hideous prior. That in of itself is enough to kill my boner.

Vietnamese girls are known for being the prettiest in all of SEA. I'm ok with chinese girls as well but they have teenager bodies, no bust, no ass and now with the huge gender gap, it has only made they even more bitchy and demanding. It seems the minimum requirement for marriage over there is a house and car. They are highly materialistic as well. This only leaves me with Japanese girls, but Japan is quite expensive. There are plenty of Japanese girls in Vietnam though nowadays. I hit on one the last time I was in vietnam at the presidental palace.

In terms of game however, I'm still trying to figure them out. Because it seems over there that being beta works. Girls complain to me all the time that I don't text or call them enough, meaning they want me to call them at least once a day. When I don't do that they get distant or angry at me. In the west, doing something like that would have gotten you automatically rejected. I'm still trying to figure out the happy medium. You don't want to be a total beta like all the local guys and make it a bit challenging for her but at the same time, you don't want to be too challenging and indifferent otherwise she will think you don't like her and go into auto-rejection mode. Asians response to DHV a lot better than Americans in my opinon. Like game has to be top-top notch over at the US, you can be a broke guy with muscles and good game and you will score. If you have mediocre game, showing off your DHV won't help you as much. In Asia I think it's less about the game and more about just being comfortable with them while displaying you are of higher DHV than her, but still show your availability. They'll definitely stick around one way or the other.

I think just being an overseas asian gives you huge DHV, however you need to be careful because girls are a lot more cunning and manipulative over there then over in the west. They are really good actors unlike the dumb bimbos you have over here. This is why screening and carefully taking your time to get to know the girl is paramount. My aunt has warned me numerous times about this, she actually said girls from the countryside are often the most cunning because they are poor.

I think you are tremendous DHV over there if your an overseas asian because:

more money and resources

More confident

You really do have the lower middle class and everyone else who is poorer, who just manage to get by in Vietnam, then the upper middle class who all went abroad and have much more buying power than your average Joe. The income gap is fuck huge as it's typical of 3rd world countries. Unfortunately so is the hotness scale.

You mostly do online game Destiny so you will be easily fooled by the fake hotness. Substract at least 3 or 4 points from her pics to get an idea of her IRL.

When I was there I went to Big C (the equivalent of Walmart/Macy in USA) the girls are fucking hideous. Actually in Hanoi I do not see a lot of hot girls walking around. Some decent looking girls have more make up on them than at a L Oreal test site. Only when my friends took me to nightclubs was I content with the quality. But make no mistake, the guys there have game. Not the "slap you with money" game, the "I can get a stripper to sleep with me for free" game. Sometimes both. Ya, that's why I have been trying to get the girls on videochat as soon as possible so that I could see for myself how they will look like in real life, although some of them still doll themselves up. I had the unpleasant experience the last time I was in vietnam, where girls looked absolutely nothing like there pics and I felt deceived. I got rid of one girl after our first date because she looked hideous, had acne all over her face, even had lipstick on her teeth, and was a tiny midget no taller then 5 feet. She kept on trying to cling to me afterwards until I told her I wasn't interested in seeing her anymore.

Update:

Its been a few weeks since I last posted on here but I have been quite busy working on myself. Other then working at this shitty job that makes me miserable I feel quite good now. I have been taking good care of my body and I have dropped like 1.5 inches off my waist and I predict to drop around at least 1-2 more inches before my trip. As I have kept myself busy talking with a tonne of prospects and getting all of their contact info and building comfort and investment from them. I feel my oneitis has quicky become a distant memory. I do have to admit though, I succumbed to temptation and visited her fb profile like a week ago briefly but I was instantly turned off when I saw a video and photos of her husband. I don't want to be hating on the guy but damn man... he looked like a troll and was super fobbish with doing the two finger pose in their photos. My attraction for her instantly took a nosedive and I think it went from a 6 to like a 1. She seems very conservative and mature. I got her on the phone once but she was super shy but I still ended up teasing the hell outta her and flirting with her. I've been trying to sexualize our conversations more but she's a bit stiff. I have noticed recently she has begun to invest more and message me first which is a good sign although getting compliance from her hasn't been that great so far. I need to get more investment from her and also build more comfort with her. She told me she's shy and her english is bad, which it really isn't. She sends me videos of her. now She seems more like LTR material but who knows.

Prospect #3: The beach girl

She's from Vung tau but works in HCMC. She's a little shorter then the other two but still cute. Her face is better looking then #1 and her body is pretty good. I think she has a B cup. She has great fashion sense. She speaks no english at all, but I'm actually surprised that I was able to go toe to toe with her speaking just vietnamese and understanding like 80% of what she was saying. Initially she wasn't investing much but after our recent video chat, where I demonstrated more value and confidence and cracking her up and flirting with her more, she has now begun to pursue me. She actually mentioned during our last video chat that she thought I had forgotten about her because I didn't message her. She has now started initiating conversations with me. She has potential. Definitely one of the better prospects.

Prospect #4: The ice queen

She lives about 2 hours away from hcmc in a neighboring city in the Mekong delta. She actually messaged me first online and offered me her number without much banter. I added her and then messaged her 2 days later. Looking at her photos on zalo, she definitely is the best looking one out of the bunch and even looks better then my oneitis. I would rate her face a 7-7.5. She also has a nice body with a generous cup size and ass for her frame, however she's a bit short, I think around 5'2-5'3. Based on her social media behaviour, I don't forsee her being LTR material. Initially when I messaged her, she seemed very cold and disinterested. She would take 1-2 days to rely and with only like 1-3 word answers. I was about to write her off but then I decided to try an experiment. My texting skills are average at best and coupled with the fact with my limited vietnamese writing skills, I knew I was at a huge disadvantage. I decided to use my strengths instead which is verbal. Nearly every chick that I have spoke with has told me how cute my accent sounds and I'm way better at spitting game talking verbally then writing. I decided to record her messages of me speaking vietnamese insteading of texting. The plan work! Her buying temperature went up to the point where she actually called me on the phone. I knew once I had gotten her on the phone and she was pursuing me, that was it! She was mine.

I expected her to be a total bitch on the phone but her demeanor and attitude was quite the opposite. I would tease and joke with her and she would play along and she was laughing non-stop throughout the whole time. I decided to end things on a high note, and ended the call while she was still very happy. Within 5 minutes she was texting me again, but now it was multiple texts consecutively or one large message. She started qualifying herself to me and asking me what type of girls I liked and stuff. Then when I just joked about it, she started to further qualify saying she was good at cooking and that she also liked the things that I mentioned. She then tried to grab frame and suggested that I sing for her. I decided to use it as an opportunity to sexualize the conversation abit while keeping it funny. I told her that I only sing in the showers and that if she wanted to hear me sing, then she would need to come take a shower with me. This lead to a further increase in attraction I guess. Because she keep on messaging me more and keep on telling me how she loved talking with me and that I made her feel very happy. She told me to wait for her and that she would wait for me to arrive. It was late over here and I had to get to work so I told her we would continue the conversation tomorrow. I let her send the last message then didn't reply. The next day I re-initiated contact and she instantly replied saying she wants to talk with me so we talk on the phone for a little bit and she continued to show signs of interest but then she says she has to get back to work and would call me when she got back home. She didn't.

I didn't hear from her at all for 5-6 days and wondered what happened. I tried to shoot another message to her but her behavior reverted back previously to the cold demeanor with short answers and taking her time to reply back. I tried one last ditch effort to record a voice message from her. She never replied back so I wrote her off. Don't really know what happened with her. Maybe she was expecting me to pursue her more and when I didn't chase and message her right away, maybe she went into auto-rejection mode or maybe she met someone else, who knows.

Prospect #5: The office girl

She was one of the earliest new prospects that I met immediately after what was happening with my oneitis. She works in an office, I forgot as what though (accountant?) She's kind of short similar to prospect 4 and not as good looking. Maybe a 6 for the face with an A cup. She showed buying signs initially but then went cold for a few days and not answering my text. Then suddenly messages me a few days later but I knew what she was trying to do. It was a test so I ignored her texts for even longer and what happened was that she doubled texted me again. That's when I saw an increase in her attraction level. She video called me one day out of the blue, but I was a little disappointed with how she looks. She told me she will come and pick me up at the airport. Now almost everyday she would message me like good morning or good night. I wanna get her on video chat once more to have a better look at her.

Prospect #6 Eyebrows

I met her shortly after meeting prospect #6. She's of a similar height to 4-5. Her body is decent and she does have a nice figure although not as nice as #4. Her photos were a mixed bag, in some she looked quite good while some others, it was just meh. Her fashion sense isn't bad though. She works in some beauty salon doing eyebrows for people, which is kind of ironic considering that she herself also has thick eyebrows. Initial interactions were a mixed bag but then later on, she would message me almost everyday wishing me goodnight or good morning. I managed to get her on video chat one day but was kind of disappointed in how she looks. I could see some acne on her face and she looked quite tanned. After the video chat, she told me she would call me again the next day but I never heard from her again.

Prospect #7: The afternoon worker

I met her recently about 1 week ago. Her height is the same as prospect #1 and her face is decent and body is decent. We had a good text exchange going on which was all in vietnamese. I've been recording a few voice messages for her hoping to bait her into investing more like a phone call or voice messages for me. She has started to record voice messages for me. Now I just need to get her either on the phone or on video chat. She's a hit and miss.

There are of course many others that I have spoken to, but these seem to be the best prospects out of the bunch in terms of my attraction towards them and also our interactions. Out of the bunch I would say my best bets would be #1-3, and 5. #6 I may be able to flip as well but I need to get her to invest more though. Number 4 is kind of a shame because she was the hottest one out of the bunch and the one I most wanted to meet but all well. I still have plenty of other girls.

Because I have been so busy talking with all of these girls and trying to maintain interest levels, I hardly even give my mind time to think about my oneitis and it has made moving on quite easy. I'm actually surprised at how quickly I have been able to recover from that disaster. I need to ingrain this principle into my head: I don't chase, I replace and always keep backups!

So my book is basically done, however I ran into a huge problem which is with the formatting of it to be sold online through amazon. In the past, with my other ebooks that I wrote, I was able to convert it using a program that literally took no more then 5 minutes to do. Those were fiction books though. However, with my latest non-fiction book which is in two languages, this has caused me some huge problems. When using the program, the formatting is messed up really bad. Misaligned- text, missing letters and characters, etc. I was nearly ready to just give up because I just could not figure it out, but I continued to hack away at it, and now slowly I have been able to correct these formatting issues. I predict at least 1-2 more weeks to get my book up and ready to go and after that I can just focus on my videos and feel a huge weight being taken off my shoulders.

I managed to shoot two quick videos this past week just as practice and to see how far I've come along. I've noticed that I can now shot clips much much quicker and they look a hell of a look better too. I was able to make a video all within an hours time, which is a record for me. I've also been studying up and learning more about another video editing software which has come in quite handy for me. I can't wait to start doing the videos seriously once my books done.

Lastly, I am actually quite shocked at how fast my vietnamese has progressed. Just a few months ago, I could hardly even carry on a conversation with a girl in vietnamese but now I can sort of go toe to toe with her. I'm talking to girls in pure vietnamese that I would not have had access to in the past. My language skills will only get better from here on out and it only makes me more motivated to continue to learn more vietnamese.

Money/Job:

What can I say about this POS job. I need the money but I hate the job. There is a 90% chance that this week will be my last week here. I just can't stand it anymore, the manager is prick who has it out for me and two of my colleagues are dicks. I actually got into a verbal argument with one of them twice this week and the asshole was swearing at me which I gladly returned the gesture. Me and him aren't really on talking terms right now and I'm sure me not allowing him to push me around like how he has with others has shown him that he can't fuck with me. All of my other colleagues have all told me both of these guys are assholes. After the end of this week I will have all the funds I need to cover my expenses, however I would like to have a bit of a safety cushion and to have a little extra money for my video production. I may end up working for a few days next week or the whole week depending on my mood before quitting, we'll see, right now I'm just trying to make it through the week without quitting yet.

Update:

So I just quit my job like 3 hours ago lol. I told my manager to fuck off and then left after he tried some shit with me. People have been dropping like flies here, at least 4 people quit within a week. One of my colleagues told the manager "fuck you" and then grabbed his stuff and left yesterday. This is the first job I've ever actually told my boss "fuck you" and it felt great lol. I don't think I would have had the confidence to do this in the past but this guy was a real piece of shit. I also told the new supervisor who literally started yesterday that the manager is a piece of shit after he ran after me to ask me what happened. I told him many people have quit all within a span of a week and that his boss is a POS and that I recommend that he get a new job somewhere else. The look on his face was priceless and he was completely speechless lol.

Update:

I had meant to travel back to Vietnam during the summer, however my travel plans got derailed and hugely delayed because of several external factors such as some issues with self-publishing my book and amazon's draconian rules, trying to figure out youtube and learning the ropes of filmmaking, and some other things. I decided it would be best to postpone the trip until I was in a better place to take advantage of my time in vietnam.

During this period, I pretty much went into monk mode and focused on improving myself in several aspects. After the previous fiasco with the last chick during the summer, it made me do a lot of self-reflection and look at things differently. I learned to look for happiness deep within myself instead of getting it externally from another person. I also viewed the aspect of me being single and alone as being fine and that I didn't need a women to validate my existence nor self-worth. I think this really helped kill a lot of neediness from deep within me, although I can't guarantee that it won't manifest again in the future.

I pretty much just focused on learning new skillsets such as:

cinematography
storytelling
learning how to talk in front of a camera
video editing
voice over work
youtube seo
youtube marketing
self-publishing
brand-management
etc...

I also created the backbone for my website although at the moment, I haven't had anytime to populate it with blog posts yet but this is a work-progress. Going into the youtube realm, I have learned a tremendous amount of material through trial and error and also learning and watching other youtubers. My video skills have progressed quite well although it still isn't at the level I'd like it be at yet, but I realize that will come in due time if I continue this.

I think through building myself from within, I was able to heal parts of me and I have gained some renewed self-confidence.
During this period of building myself, I decided to switch off my online dating accounts and I even ghosted a crap tonne of girls from online because I found it quite distracting and getting in the way of me working on all of my projects. My long term goal is to be able to turn this into a location independent type of business and the way I see it is that I was willing to sacrifice short-term gratification for long-term gratification.

With all of that being said however, I would like to say that I have made it over to vietnam yesterday finally...

Arriving back in vietnam seems a bit surreal. I'm not sure if it's the culture shock or what, but even though I am presently here in person, I feels like I'm not really here, if you know what I mean. The loud car honks, the shouting and yelling from people outside, and the hot humid weather that is engulfing every inch of me, makes it seem like I am stuck in a dream. I have been thinking about what the country has in store for me this time. Will I be successful with my youtube channel or will it end up being a flop and me having to go back home to canada like a dog beaten with it's tail between it's legs. Will I have some more success with the local women here or will it end up in humiliation and shame? What about scams or having my camera or phone or laptop stolen while I'm in the country? These are the thoughts that are populating my mind every second. I have made a leap of faith, not knowing where it will take me.

I decided to stay at a hotel close to my relatives for a few days so that I could sort everything out and scout for a more permanent apartment. I still haven't decided yet which area I will stay in but district 1 is looking like the winner so far due to it's central location and giving me access to numerous filming locations and walkability. I have also considered other districts like d2, d7, or binh thanh, however, my biggest concern with those areas is that I will need to drive, and from what I've seen and experienced so far, the chance of my dying is very high, therefore this may not be a good option. Despite the low taxi fees per a ride, paying multiple times a day to cab around the city can really add up and eat into my budget. The weather this time around is much more bearable in the low 30's and I think I am a bit more used to all of the ruckus outside from my previous trip, although I still fear for my life when I'm crossing the street, hoping to not get run off by some idiot on a motorbike.

Due to my persistence in spending the last 10 months or so learning vietnamese, I am somewhat able to communicate with the locals now and I would estimate my vocabulary bank to be around 800ish words. Make no mistake, trying to master vietnamese is an extremely difficult feat due to the tones and also words having multiple meanings. Dating any of the local women at the moment hasn't really crossed my mind much as I have been solely focused on youtube. In fact, I'm actually surprised I have been able to work on editing my videos instead of going outside to hit on chicks now that I can carry a somewhat basic conversation with them.

I have been getting a lot of stares from people, and when I mean a lot, I mean ALOT!!! I feel like an animal out on display or something, this is kind of a good thing and a bad thing. The good is that I instantly stand out and can attract attention from the local women which has surprisingly been really easy. In fact, today while working out at some run-down old gym right beside my hotel, one of the employees was asking my cousin if I was single or not. I didn't learn about this until later in the day when my cousin told me. I also noticed the girl and her friend being quite receptive when I was leaving the gym and asked them a question regarding the opening hours of the gym vs them being glued on their phones earlier.

The bad is it's awkward as hell, especially when it's older people just downright standing there or sitting there staring at you, not realizing that you can see them doing it and it's making you uncomfortable. Heck I don't even see westerners getting the same type of stares as me, but then again, they have their own problems to deal with, like getting ripped off.

Since I'm gonna be here for a while, it makes more sense to establish myself permanently first before attempting any pickup. I'm gonna spend this week just working on my youtube channel and also brainstorming some new ideas to generate income online.

Girls:

I haven't really been focusing on picking up any girls at least intentionally, however the following encounters occured randomly.

I was at a bubble tea shop today trying to order my drink. The girl at the front who I didn't pay much attention to as she was nothing special, initially spoke at a slower pace when I was trying to order my drink, but then suddenly spoke really fast vietnamese and I couldn't keep up with her. Before I knew it, I defaulted back to speaking english with her. This caused an awkwardness as she didn't know how to respond back. A customer who spoke good english intervened and saved her. She apparently had a good look at me, while I was browsing the drink menu and while preparing my drink, turns to her two female co-workers and is like this guy is so handsome in vietnamese to them as they both agree and giggle like little school children. They made this blatant statement right in front of me. Unbeknownst to them, I understand everything they were saying and had a slight grin on my face. Then as the main girl was almost finished my drink, I go up to her and I'm like "What time do you open? What time do you close? in vietnamese" Her jaw dropped and there was a sudden moment of silence between all three girls as their faces lit up like a christmas tree. One of the girls is like "you know how to speak vietnamese?" I reply "a little bit".

Then the main girl is like "where are you from?" and I reply "canada." They turn towards each other and say "viet kieu! (overseas vietnamese).
A exchanged a few words with the girls as they continued grinning shyly from the embarrassment. They handed me my drink, and we said goodbye. I found this quite hilarious as the look on their faces was priceless. This place has huge potential for me to pick up these girls. I will pay them another visit in a few days.

At my hotel, at the front desk, is a somewhat cute looking girl who I initally thought was vietnamese who later turned out to be Cambodian. I had tried to communicate with her on my previous trip when I needed my room to be cleaned, however my lack of vietnamese at the time cockblocked me. I also found her kind of village hick, which was a bit of a turn off, but whatever. I just wanted to practice my vietnamese a bit and get comfortable talking with locals. Besides, she could be good social proof as well. I had spoken with her yesterday abit as I needed to get the shower fixed in my room. I had also talked with another girl at the hotel who spoke english yesterday, however she was not attractive at all.

Today while I was sitting outside of my aunt's coffee shop, the front desk girl suddenly showed up and said something to me really quickly. I think she said "I'm taking your chair" and then proceeds to sit on my chair. I start talking with her again with my limited vietnamese and we exchange some small talk. I glance over at her phone and noticed a photo of her and some guy who I assume is her bf/finance, etc. I'm not really into that much so I'm like whatever. I did build a little more rapport with her by making her and my aunt laugh when I cracked some joke that I sound like a 5 year old child when I speak vietnamese. She showed me some pic of her friend on her phone who was kind of attractive. I don't really know why she did that. Perhaps she was hinting to me to ask her about introducing her cambodian friend to me. She said her friend is like those girls who competes in beauty pageants or something. I think this is where I messed up. I should have jokingly asked her to introduce her friend to me. She got her and then said goodbye and left.

Yesterday while I was playing badmington with my cousin's son outside, the girl next door to my aunt's coffee shop, a somewhat tall vietnamese chick who I initially thought was attractive when I first visited vietnam, but later didn't really like her look asked my cousin's son about me, after I had left to go inside. I had asked one of my other aunt's to get me her number previously after I had left vietnam last time. The conversation with her online when no-where due to communication issues and the fact that she was showing signs of low interest. We didn't even videochatted yet and there was only like 1-2 pics on my zalo account so I doubt she even recognizes me. I had written her off completely. I later found out that she is either engaged or married with her guy who's father own's a restaurant directly facing my aunts coffee shop. This would be really bad news if I make a move on this chick as it would effect not only me but my family as well. This chick who initially was displaying signs of low interest appears to have taken a liking to me. I have seen her on several occasionals checking me out with my peripherals.

Its funny how things work. Now that I don't really give a shit or try much, it seems girls are just flocking to me like fireflies attracted to a light.

Work:

I've been finding it quite difficult to concentrate at work and the heat is just making me tired and not wanting to do anything. This isn't good as I have a lot of work to do and need to make sure I'm on top of things. I know I've only been here for like 3-4 days now but still. I have clips from a previous shooting session I did in toronto that are just setting on my laptop right now that needs to be completed before I can move onto vietnam. I think besides going outside to grab food or drinks in the morning after working out, I'm just gonna lock myself in my room to make sure I get all the work that I need to get done. I need to get this done so that I can move onto the next phase of my plan of looking for an apartment. There's plenty of chicks here to mack on, no need for me to travel all the way down to district 1 anyways. There's several bubbletea shops in my area with some offering seating. I've noticed the crowd tend to be girls in their 20's which is the perfect age groups of girls that I want to target. The only other thing I probably can't do is daygame, as people in the neighourhood literally stare at me all the time here. I had no less then 3 people stare at me today and everyday someone is asking my relatives who I am. Word would get around very very quickly so I need to be more subtle in how I pick up girls. I think simply putting myself in close proximity to the girls and getting their attention is more then enough. It's only been like 3-4 days now and I've already had at least 2 girls ask about me indirectly through my relatives, while 3 at the bubble tea shop showed interest directly.

Yesterday while out and about with my aunt to buy some medicine for me, I was approached by several girls at a local market only about 100m from my hotel. They were promoting some brand of seaweed and thought I was fluent in vietnamese so was speaking super quick. I had to switch back over to English just so that I can grasp what they were saying. Immediately the girls got curious about me and we talked back and forth in both english and vietnamese. I noticed 2 of the girls were showing giving off major IOI's, but I took a bigger liking to the more taller and attractive looking one between the two. I establish that she's a university student and working here part-time but lives kind of far from me. I didn't really pay much attention to her because a lot was going on at the time, but from what I gathered she looked kind of cute, but didn't have much of a body unfortunately. Above average height by vietnamese standards somewhere between 5'3-5'4 with long hair, and glasses. While talking with her and establishing rapport, I was cockblocked however by my aunt, who pulled me away to get the medicine before I had a chance to grab her number. I was a little disappointed but hey whatever.

Then my aunt is like telling me about another girl right beside the pharmacy and saying she's also pretty. I glance over and have a quick look, she's just ok in my eyes, short, tanned skin, with long silky hair. Her face isn't anything special. My aunt then calls out to her and asks if she can speak english in which she says no. Our attention is there diverted towards the pharmacy while my mind is still fixated on my earlier conversation with that girl. I told my aunt that she just cockblocked me but she laughed it off and said I could go back there and talk with her again afterwards. But I knew it would have been awkward to do that again. So when we finished buying my medicines, I walked by the booth and just said goodbye to the girls, while my aunt said she had to eat with her friends and for me to go back alone. About halfway towards my hotel, I turned my head around and noticed my aunt had stopped by the booth and was chatting up the girl that I had spoken with earlier. I didn't find out what happened until later that day.

When I arrived back at my relatives house which is like a few meters away from my hotel, I told my other aunt what happened and how i just got cockblocked. She then insists that I go back there with her under the pretense to buy the seaweed from her. I was quite hesitate to do this, and told her no several times, but she persisted and in the end, I relented. I was like screw it, if I make a fool of myself then I make a fool of myself.

My heart was beating faster and faster as we got closer to the booth. As soon as we got to the booth however, something unexpected happened. The other girl from the both, a much shorter and uglier girl then the one I had spoken to me, basically swarmed me and asked for my number haha. She was like let's exchange numbers so we can do a language exchange. My aunt now was occupied with talking with my target and I was stuck talking with this girl who I had no interest in. After exchanging numbers from her, I knew I had to grab the other girl's number too, so I handed her my phone and grabbed the digit.

BINGO!

Now we're in business. Then the short girl told another girl beside me to hand her number over to me too and she was surprised and shocked at her friend's request but she complied. She also wasn't much of a looker neither and was also very short. The shorty suggested that we go for coffee sometime to practice english and then the conversation somehow involved talking with her other 3 co-workers and finding out that they are also students except for one of them. After grabbing the digits and talking for a little bit and buying the seaweed, I was ready to bail but my aunt still wanted to talk, but I told her let's go. I didn't want to keep on staying there making it even more awkward then it already was.

Back home, my aunt told me what tell the girl was done work and told me to go back over there and ask her out for coffee but I insisted that it was too awkward with all of her co-workers and that now that I have her contact, I could arrange a better time to do it. My aunt started to see things my way and agreed.

After grabbing that chick's number from yesterday I did a little snooping around just to confirm that my eyesight is working properly or not. Based on her photo's she didn't look as good as I had thought, or perhaps she's one of those girls who just look better in person, I don't know. Anyways it made me have reservations about seeing her, unfortunately after adding her on my zalo, she just has been sending me a lot of messages that seem kind of needy and clingy. For someone she sends me hearts and shy emoticons which seems kind of strange to me. Maybe she doesn't have any experience in dating or something, who knows. I have arranged a time to see her next week, she wants me to bring her friends with her when she meets me for coffee and then afterwards, we will go eat alone.

I guess it's a safety and trust thing for her. If she doesn't make the cut, I'm bailing.

My mother had mentioned a big supermarket near my aunt's house that has a lot of girls there. She told me to go check it out. So today I decided to check the place out and went with my aunt. Right at the front entrance, I noticed several girls and guys with several booths promoting different brands like milo, maggi, and strong bow. I quickly scanned the prospects and found one girl that caunt my eye. She again has above average height at around 5'3-5'4 with long silky hair and was wearing those strong bow costumes. I approached and grabbed a sample then switched over to english and conversed with her in that. My daygame skills are kind of rusty due to a lack of practice so when I felt the conversation was dying done after about 2-3 minutes, I bailed without asking for her number. But upon entering the supermarket with my aunt, I said screw it and walked right back up to her and grabbed a diffferent flavour sample but this time was able to transition into more personal stuff and finding out more about her. She asked me a few questions but I wasn't feeling the vibe too much from her. It could have been because her male co-worker was standing right beside us eavsdropping into the conversation or the girl in the booth directly across from us was also listening in and smiling at me lol. I didn't want to put too much pressure on her so after a while of beating around the bush, I asked for her digits but was having some technical difficulties adding her. I said screw it, I'm just gonna figure this shit out when I get home and try to add her number into one of those chatting apps. Between the two girls, I'd say this girl is slightly better looking. If the number didn't work, I would just write it off as a number's game.

I was able to add her to one of these chatting apps when I got home, but haven't received a reply yet so we'll see what happens. I'm gonna go hunt for another prospect too in case these two turn out to be duds.

I had two dates this past week that were kind of awkward and both were group dates. God, I hate group dates. My relatives told me group dates for the first meeting is normal and that "good girls" only go on group dates the first time when they meet you and that only "bad girls" go on single dates. I thought it was rubbish.

First, the seaweed booth girl. I had arranged to meet her at 6pm along with her friends, however since it was raining she messaged me asking to move the date to 6:30pm. Since I wasn't sure when she would arrive, I told her to message me when she was near our meeting place. I didn't want to waste time sitting there at a bubble tea shop waiting for god knows how long so I stayed at home until she called me. The bubble tea shop was like 3 minutes away from my hotel so I figured if she flaked, I wouldn't waste too much time. At 6:30, still no message but I told myself, I'll give her a little more time. Then 7 passed. I messaged her but no reply. Now I was getting annoyed and ready to cancel the date. I was just hanging out at my relatives house opposite my hotel room and killing time. My aunt told me I'm a man, so I should have to wait for her, no matter how long. I said bullshit. My time is important to me, and any chick that doesn't respect it is gonna get the boot. Finally, at 7:30, she called me and said she just arrived. I was a bit pissed off at this point. In what world is making your date wait over an hour acceptable, even if it rained?

Nonetheless, I showed up and greeted her and her friends. It was the same group of friends that I talked with that day at the booth. I looked around quickly, they all already purchased their drinks including my date, all well. They did make me wait a hell of a long time didn't they? I ordered my drink and then we all headed upstairs. When we finally settled down and started talking, I realized to my horror that the girl barely speaks any english. I was like wtf? Didn't I just speak mostly in english with u like a few days ago. Also my date was extremely and kept on staring at the table and playing with the straw and wrapper while I was talking with her friends. I sensed that she had very little dating experience and was super shy, so I kept on trying to ask her questions to get her to open up more and relax. It did somehow work as she did lighten up and relax a bit more. I joked around with her and her friends and got all of them laughing. Her friends seemed to like me, and then at around the 30 minute mark, two of her females friends leaned over towards her and said something, then excused themselves and went home. I would have guessed that this meant that I passed the friendship test and now they were trying to give us some alone time.

Unfortunately, she didn't drive herself here and instead relied on her other guy friend. The guy behind silent and started playing games on his phone after the girls left, so me and my date pretty much talked for the rest of the date. I got her laughing and did a little light flirting. I found out that she's only 19 and never had a bf before. She mentioned that her parents don't allow her to date until she's finished university. She was fidgetting a lot with the plastic wrapper and staring at the table which I attributed to her being nervous there. I should have just cut the date short but I tried to move locations. This is a poor choice, as a bit later during the date, she said her friend needed to go home and then they left. I have kept in touch with her via zalo and told her to contact me when she's free to hang out again. This one's probably written off now. Onto the next...

Date number 2:

This one was arranged by my cousin and his gf who were trying to introduce me to their gf's friend. About a week ago, I a briefly glimpsed at a photo of her when his gf showed me her pic. I thought this girl's cute and has potential. But as you know, photos can be quite deceiving. My cousin picked me up on the date of our date and drove me to meet his gf and my date. When we finally met up, my date had a facemask on and was driving my cousin's gf. My cousin leaned in to my date and asked her while driving the motorbike with me at the back, "so is he handsome or what?"
She replies "He's indeed handsome" in vietnamese, not expecting me to understand what she's saying. I guess that means the physical attractions there, at least on her end.

When we finally arrive at a restaurant to eat and she removed her face mask and I saw her talk. I was actually kind of shocked and surprised that my cousin would introduce this girl to me. She had rabbit teeth! I was like wtf, seriously? Again, this girl was super shy around me, barely even saying a word. Only when my cousin and his gf teased the my date did she start speaking. Both of them teased that she is normally really loud and talkative but today, since she met me, she is suddenly so silent. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to look at the positive side of things, I just could not overcome the the look and size of her teeth. They were huge and bulging out. Hell, I could even see her saliva dripping down her two front incisors. I tried to imagine what it would be like to make out with her, but a sudden chill engulfed my body. Fuck, there was no way I was going to get a boner from this chick. Add to the fact, I couldn't even be my charming self since I couldn't talk english with this girl and she preferred to talk in chinese. My chinese is only conversational and I never practiced flirting in chinese before with anyone. So far, it's only been in english and vietnamese and this girl was not doing me any favours with her silence. When we finished eating, I paid for the meal for all of us, but I don't think I even heard a thank you from my date. My cousin suggested we go watch a movie, so we headed there. Terrible date a idea, I might add. This girl kept on yapping with my cousin's gf during the whole movie and you can't really talk with someone during a movie neither. After the movie was done, we decided to end the date, I said goodbye to my date but she didn't return the gesture which prompted my cousin's gf to ask her what didn't she say goodbye. My date muttered something to her and then they drove off. I definitely didn't get a good impression from this girl. No thank you and no goodbye. This is like common courtesy. My cousin mentioned that she is just really shy since this is the first time she met me and that she needs more time. It's been about a week now, and I'm debating whether or not to ask this girl out.
