Since the British Scouts went co-ed 25 years ago (probably to avoid disqualification from lottery funding), nearly 75% of new members are girls. Boys are also leaving the Scouts.

Laughably the Girl Guides’ membership remains stable as sells the advantages of girls only spaces.

It isn't just the scouts - the Catholic church in America got into bed (oops...) with left leaning politicians for decades, particularly in the northeast. As a staunch traditionalist she came into some rather frequent fights against leftists Catholics who were pulling out all the stops trying to destroy her to the point she eventually left the network.

Now here's where it gets interesting. Catholic these days very frequently wouldn't recognize the names of a lot of these people she sparred with. They very abruptly vanished.

Because the cheerleaders of having a more "forward thinking" church were just "Coincidentally" the same people who were expelled for participating in and covering up the child abuse scandal

That's the dirty secret nobody wants to talk about. The entire "Catholic child abuse scandal" was generally NOT a problem traditional Catholics had: it was something promulgated by leftists.

I don't doubt that one bit. At least at the time, there was enough push back to keep the church from throwing the towel in completely. Even in this rotten age, facilitating homosexual adoption would have been enough or the Vatican to make a phone call and warn about excommunication, tax implications, real estate (church property) forfeitures, nonprofit status, etc.

The northeast was also the place in the US where the sex scandal exploded in the early 2000s. One middle aged brother (monk teacher) at a high school got moved mid-semester. There were rumors my friends joked about, but they never found out the truth until years later. Still other priests in local parishes were relocated to different towns in what seemed like ordinary transfers. Looking back, some turned out to be much more hideously criminal situations.

As I suggested, the church in that region was already a left leaning place so it's no surprise that leftists themselves - like Cardinal Bernard Law - were at the center of the shell game of moving priests around to avoid exposure. The Catholic church scandal wasn't a church scandal per se, it was a homosexual abuse scandal enabled by an organization allowing homosexual men with a desire for young boys to get into situations where abuse could happen.

On a similar note, the (boy) scouts situation is utterly unsurprising and predictable.

I was in Cub Scouts and then did Scouts for a few years. I think I reached Star rank. We did several campouts a year in the Pacific Northwest where I lived and they were an absolute blast. Mormon BSA troops were a force to be reckoned with when I was at scout camp in the summer. Those guys were hardcore, and had a big presence in the organization. The timing of this announcement is not coincidental, but I think they'd been looking about breaking off for a few years anyway because of the gay stuff.

There have long been scouting type groups in Spain and other European countries (wear uniforms including neckkerchiefs, go on camping trips and other group activities) with both teenage girls and boys. The path of least resistance is for mixed boys and girls, and also mixed men and women leaders, same as with public schools. Then the couple or so of transgenders are given their own tents.

Transgender is a fad right now but I can't it growing much more. It's like obesity, athletic incompetence, inability to pass standardized tests: no one really wants to be these things. The way society is bending over backwards to coddle failures at life is ultimately going to hurt them. A day comes when the coddling stops and you're on your own and then what? Getting teased as a child means you learn to cope with your problems when the price of inability to cope is low. Suddenly taking off the training wheels when you are 22, a large male who identifies as a little girl, but who will be treated as simply a large male by the police, means a very rude shock if you decide to throw a temper tantrum.

There were tranny kids in my Boy Scout troop and that was twenty years ago. “Extreme Tomboys” was probably how they were described back then. But it was just sort of fine if veery masculine girls tagged along. Never got in the way of us being boys and farting and talking about dicks and boobs and shooting guns. We just treated her/it with figurative kid gloves. There was also a male kid who was a massive pussy and who everyone hated who is now living as a woman. He did ruin a camping trip or two with his crybaby bullshit but I later found out his father beat him and his mom and then left them so I have more sympathy for him/it now.

Man, my BSA experience was way tamer than some of you guys'. The only girl that hung around us was the Assistant Scoutmaster's adopted daughter, who was a year younger than me, and I "dated" her for about six months–in the most basic sense of the word–from eighth grade until the summer before freshman year of HS. She was very girly... crazy though. She had the eyes. I let this slide because she was something I could lord over my friends with as well as my ex- and first girlfriend who'd dumped me after 7th grade. (We ended up getting back together as fuckbuddies for a while in HS.)
Other than that, we just had a few hardcore aspies, plus one kid who had a very dark, Child Called It-type childhood who later came out as gay (which we figured he was, and it really showed once most of my friends and I first joined FB in 2008.)
