I've heard it is next to impossible to get Chinese citizenship, even if you marry a Chinese national. Unless you're ethnically Chinese or loaded and bringing lots of investment cash/business into the country, I thought China was pretty much a no-go on citizenship rights?

Once upon a time, I was doing research on renouncing my US citizenship. While researching, I saw a Reddit post about an American that became stateless in an undisclosed East Asian country (probably China). He had been stuck there for 3 years and was trying to get the UN to help.

I thought this post was a reference to that story.

Everything is fine for Suits in China. Definitely no need for anyone to check in on him. The body odor is what gave it away for me too. I was thinking: I don't think this is a good idea! How will he visit his parents, who won't come see him in China? I wonder what trouble he got into the last time he was in Canada? Then I saw the body odor thing and I realized what day it is.
