More bursts like that will ruin the barrel.
I have no idea what you are talking about.
I've fired the SAW using long, extended bursts on COD and never had a problem.

Then there's the media. The very fact that everyone knows the names of the Columbine shooters says something. It's long been known that fame is a big part of why shooters do what they do.
People might think "Yeah, but the point of fame is to get laid and if you're locked up that won't happen." That's one reason for seeking fame. The other is massive female attention.
I can guarantee that this kid is now getting more attention from women than ever. His blonde defense attorney was practically massaging him in front of the judge.
Heartiste once did a post on the massive fan mail killers like Richard Ramirez and Scott Peterson received. I wonder how many conjugal visits they got?
Anyway, the media is complicit in this in making these guys stars and creating copycat crimes, in my opinion. If a 20-second spot for toilet paper makes millions of people change their brands, I contend that wall-to-wall coverage of psycho killers will influence some people too.

A month ago in the post above, I wrote that Nikolas Cruz's actions would net him "more attention from women than ever" and compared him to Scott Peterson, who became sort of a sex symbol after killing his wife.
Well, today's big headline is: "Fan Mail Pours In for Nikolas Cruz...Women reportedly sending love letters, photos, money."
While there are some women who have a "dark side" and want to bed killers, it's the massive media hype that's making them into stars --and fueling copycat killers.
Popularity is popularity. What's galling, though, is the way the media puts the focus on guns. Give me a break. The media is complicit in this and they're focusing on guns to take everyone's attention away from that.

From the article:
"In one (letter) sent from Texas, the writer identifies herself as an 18-year-old high school senior before sharing her breast size. "Your eyes are beautiful and the freckles on your face make you so handsome," she writes.
A letter sent by a woman in Chicago was accompanied by nine photos. One showed cleavage, another showed a bikini-clad woman eating a Popsicle. Other letters provide words of encouragement, offers of friendship, or money to be added to Cruz's commissary account, hovering around $800.
"I've never seen this many letters to a defendant," says Howard Finkelstein, Broward County's public defender.

So true- remember the Melendez case? I read one story years ago about a woman who fell in love with one of them (I forget which) and left her husband and children to go attend the trial and support him. I guess bad boys are still attractive, even when "bad" means murder.

Ever notice that when some nimrod runs out onto the field at a televised professional sports event they dont show it? Thats because in the 70's there was a short lived fad in US called "streaking". Streaking was basically running naked in public. It spilled over into live sports and the networks quickly realized that showing the dinglenugget on live TV only encouraged others to do the same. So it became policy to not show it.
What social or investigative purpose does it serve to publish or broadcast the gunman's identity ?
None
The MSM is more than complicit...they are a direct cause.
A law prohibiting the publishing the name and pictures of gunmen would actually prevent other losers from thinking "Well I get no attention and my life is meaningless so I may as well go out with as big a bang as possible. People will remember me then"
I wonder if any lawmakers have ever proposed such a law

It was the same thing with the Boston bombers- Why Does Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Have So Many Female Fans?
In terms of it just being fame alone ("Popularity is popularity") that makes women act this way, you have to ask - if a man received the same amount of publicity as Cruz has, but for prosocial behavior (eg. setting up a charitable foundation) instead of fame for committing a violent crime, would he still get the same some level of adoration and lust from women?
I don't believe so. Notoriety seems to be a lot more arousing to women than fame. They don't just get turned on because of the publicity, it's that he's famous for doing something violent.

Not only that, but he's been telling his brother about it from jail. The same brother that's been routinely visiting the school immediately after the shooting. But don't worry the broward police have it under control, they were right there in their patrol cars...fast asleep. We'll see if probation keeps him away. Cause we sure know by now that high school's administration has a collective IQ of potato with their refusal to harden the fucking entry points or tighten security whatsoever. He'll just magically skateboard right in like before if he wants.
