Schools have gotten really soft really quickly. I cannot believe that hogg guy even exists, his angry stare looks exactly the same as one a five year old might give you if you tell him he can't have any ice cream.

I didn't go to some ghetto school, but if you were as skinny and weedy as that, you would definitely be picked on at the very least. People pick on weak looking kids to try and give them a reason to beat them up. Normally skinny kids are smart, they take the insults but avoid any fights.

This skinny guy though looks like he wants to fight all the time. I can't imagine someone that arrogant, angry and skinny going through high school. He would probably react badly to someone calling him something, maybe call someone a "nazi fascist republican a-hole", at that point the group of bullies will pounce on him and beat him up, while he keeps asking for more calling everyone a "scumbag right wing redneck", at this point the normal kids who are not as skinny as him (which would be most of the school) would realise "hey this kids a fucking dick, lets join in!" and he would have the shit kicked out of him on a daily basis by pretty much everyone for quite a few years before he would start to change himself.

What happened? Have they got rid of bullying?

When I was a kid the bully picks on you too much you cave his face in (this is how I stopped being bullied.)

I get the impression that nowadays the teachers think they are one of the school girls so take the side of the bully. Resistance to bullying leads to expulsion and juvenile hall. I think less schools would get shot up if kids were given the time honored advice of "hit the bully in the face through the chin repeatedly."

Kids like Hogg can be bullies because resistance is strongly and harshly discouraged.

If I ever have a son who's bullied I'd tell him to go ahead, beat the bully halfway to death and get expelled, I got you.

There really is something that makes the skin crawl about the way the media keeps parading a pair of Still Freshly Traumatized© high school kids around with seemingly no regard for what all that national fame and attention might do, or actually has done before to teenage minds. And yeah, you really can't point this out without someone screeching "YOU'RE MORE BOTHERED BY THAT THAN BY OUR KIDS DYING IN SCHOOLS", as though that overrides the colossal pressure being placed on Hogg and Gonzales to be the mouthpieces for the "Revolution" and create content for it. It's not just enough to be under the spotlight. You have to perform. Every second counts. Leave no soundbyte untuned. Be passionate and inspiring. But also be sad and angry. Go through the entire gauntlet of emotions while the cameras are rolling and Concerned News Anchors are holding back tears while also carefully watching the teleprompter.

Yet even as I say that, I already know the MSM will barely remember these kids six months from now. So all that buzz and celebrity is going to dry up and these kids will be left with a sudden vacuum of attention. Waking up and being Yesterday's News before you're 20 years old isn't fun.
