Seven new has a report of a "right wing" group getting together to do something about the Melbourne African crime gangs. Without having watched it, the facebook comments are interesting.
There seems to mostly people saying it's about time or similar sentiments, then the others...

Didn't they have similar issues a while back in Dandenong and the local community started patrolling the streets at night to ward of the gangs?

Didn't see anyone accuse them of being "right wing", probably because they were mostly from the same ethnic groups.

Saw a clip on one of those pathetic morning shows detailing the intent to once again, change the flag.
Apparently the one design replaces the Union Jack with a seven pointed star (representing the states & territories).

Noting how the states are arbitrary lines on a map &/or notional.

Was on the train today listening to a couple of aboriginals complaining about invasion day and no one wanting to sit near them because racist. Personally I think it had more to do with the feet on seats, spitting on the floor, swearing and general victim mentality complaining about white people, but I clearly don't know the struggle.

Don't forget it's race that meant the train stopped short and they had to change, not it's a hot day and there were slowdowns from the heat.

Hope you all had a great Straya Day!

While in Melbourne, SJWs staged a huge protest bitching about changing the date, I took my wife deep into redneck QLD town to visit family friends and have that stereotypical Aussie Day celebration by the pool with lamb chops on the barbie and cold beers in stubbies. Couldn't have asked to have spent the day with a more genuine, easy going and generous bunch of people, completely opposite to their stereotypes in the media.

Disappointed to see Barnaby Joyce's affair getting so much air time. I don't believe that politicians personal lives should get dragged into the spotlight like this.
IMO it's not a matter of "public interest" just fodder for the gossip rags.

It's the state of Australian politics. We don't have enough real issues to argue about so this kind of bullshit gets blown up.

As CynicalContrarian said, Australian politics really is boring. We have it too good so we split hairs and make mountains out of mole hills.

At least at the start all sides of politics came out and said that Joyce's private life wasn't a matter for the public spotlight. Although that lasted about as long as a snowball in hell.

Just after the last federal election there was that ~2 week period of no sitting government & the country carried on just fine.
Perhaps we need another 2 week, if not 2 month, lower / upper house shutdown.
