I've heard JP quote his friends as telling him "you sound better when you're not so angry." Sounds like he took it to heart and you are right it is absolutely a much more convincing and persuasive style for him.

The University of Toronto Faculty Association told As It Happens it is "alarmed" by Peterson's plans to "place under surveillance certain kinds of academic content."

"Instructors of the potentially targeted courses believe that their autonomy as educators may be under threat. The proposed website has created a climate of fear and intimidation," UTFA said in a written statement.

In a letter obtained by As It Happens, senior faculty at the U of T's Women's and Gender Studies Institute told the university administration the site presents a serious case of harassment, fostering unsafe work and study conditions for students, faculty and staff.

"We strongly request that action is taken by university leadership to proactively prevent this harassment before it begins," the letter which was first reported on by left-leaning website Press Progress reads.

U of T spokeswoman Althea Blackburn-Evans confirmed the administration has received the letter and is looking into the matter.

"We are aware of the issues it raises and we are meeting with faculty to hear their concerns. U of T has policies and procedures that address workplace harassment and health and safety," she said in an email.

Marxists complaining about surveillance?

It seems likely that the SJW politic will be trying to play the harassment card to get the University to fire him, which they have no doubt been itching for an excuse to do. Although at this point he is much bigger than his University job so it likely won't hurt him as much as it would have a year ago, and would only serve to prove his point and give him more publicity.

Unfortunately in JPs most recent bible lecture he didn't directly quote, just sorta mumbled out the story of Jacob. Not that I'm complaining about the free shit, mind you, just that it is a slight departure from format.

I found his biblical lectures a real eye opener. It's just if you don't have plenty of deadtime (I have a 37 minute drive to work) its hard to get into his stuff. It makes sense if you consider the bible on a similar (but infinitely more sophisticated) function as Aesop's tales.

I saw this thread a few months ago and started listening to JP's videos...man they are great, and addictive.

He had one point that really, really resonated with me - something like "lots of people suffer depression and anxiety simply because their lives are too complicated and they don't see any chance at making them less complicated." That along with his admonition to clean one's room as a way of organizing your day-to-day life seemed to unlock some kind of new path for me where I've been able to clear some baggage from my mind the past few months (and clean my room...feels way better mentally to walk into a sparse room without piles of crap).

Anybody done his self-authoring program? (https://www.selfauthoring.com/) I would like to try it but haven't quite been able to commit the time needed so haven't started.

I love him and could and often do listen to him for what seems like forever; I think he is a pragmatic genius in terms of what he can bring to peoples lives and his utter detest of marxism is beyond godly and searing, but I know that he takes a great deal of the WW2 propaganda at face value(at least in public). To not, would make him a true pariah.

Which is why it kills me to say the following about the video, I'm posting.
Its so fucking disappointing and a problem when people take them so seriously. I mean he is a serious guy, bit this right here is just cute arrogance.

Faith Goldy was recently disinvited from a talk with him and Gad Saad, not even going to bother with the brackets, and a few others only a few days ago and their/his excuse is..... tremendous bullshit and hypocritical at its finest. Faith Goldy's on-site reporting at Charlottesville was the absolute best. Gaad Sad gains support by bashing Islam (way to take a stand, not...bashing Islam is a no brainer), and I'd rather a Judaic culture than Islamic anyday but he is a charlatan.

But understandable for Peterson to cower personally. It would have made for some great fireworks for her to be there. He's had her there before, but "now too hot too handle". Goldy even supported Peterson when he was temporaily banned from youtube, but when it came to her, he slapped her down like the guy who begs the debtor, has mercy, gets himself forgiven of the loan, only to forget he was ever a beggar at all and strike the person who helped when it wasn't easy or profitable to do so, rather than extend the hand in reciprocation as she did to him.





He talks about Solzhenitsyn a lot, and good ol' Solzy was not squeamish about admitting that most Bolshevik and Soviet leaders were Jews. There's no way Peterson does not know this. Peterson has wondered why it's ok to fly the hammer and sickle, yet not the Swastika. He knows the answer to that as well. He knows who is in power right now, and who took power in Russia 100 years ago and murdered about 60,000,000 Russian Christians over the course of decades.

I did it along with several other RVF friends. We'd take a week or two per section then do a video conference to discuss our results before moving on to the next.

I really couldn't recommend it more highly. Even though we've all been here on the RVF learning and improving for years, and are more likely than your average person to engage in honest self-reflection, the act of writing all this out forces the brain to clarify its goals and thought processes. We've all learned a lot, and sharing our results with each other was incredibly helpful.

As Peterson says, don't worry about doing it perfectly. Do it poorly but quickly then go back and elaborate further if needed on certain sections. Or take half an hour a day and spread it across weeks or months. If anything, giving yourself time to think about and sleep on the questions ought to improve your results, rather than attempting to blow through the entire thing in one afternoon.
