I have to disagree again. In my field of study, every semester we get many exchange students from USA, Ireland, UK ,no Australian, but also many from Russia. Believe it or not but the only 3 Girls from the USA that I've known till today are hot.
We have a professor from Ireland, a red head woman in her 40s and she is better looking than all other german professor from her age.(I guess you're all right when you say german women do not age well)
I was in a small group of students in a seminar, 12 girls and 7 guys. And guess what, the most beautiful girl in that group was the american girl, an exchange student.
Before even starting to talk to the girl, I checked her facebook and she wrote ' I am feminist and proud of it' hahaha
So the conclusion is that you can find beautiful and ugly girls everywhere. But the behaviour is what makes a big difference.
I am afraid to announce you that all girls German, Polish, French or Brasilien are behaving slowly the same as women in English speaking countries and that's because of the medias.

German women don't behave the same as women in english speaking countries, nor polish do on average behave the same as their french counterparts, its clear for me that you have not been in deep contact with many different nationalities, and specially not in their home countries..Im specifically talking here about those women living their daily life in their respective countries how their their behaviour notably transform when they are abroad in holidays or doing some Erasmus program. Using not only anectodal evidence but also common sense, German girls are more likely to be in shape and to have taller/longer legs than British/America/Australian women, so Im not talking about specific cases to prove my point, but when you visit large/mid/small cities and take a note about the street level that you can observe. Many tall blondes from germany that live a normal life in a small town, go to uni and dont have 20 guys behind them would be models put in places like Brazil, US, UK, and would have tons of followers in instagram and completely different attitudes.. I know several of women like that, in Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Baltic States, Czech, etc but the german beauties are more striking because they are often king sized, and a 180 cm beauty is way more striking compared to a 160 cm one, Im absolutely into taller women, possibly around 175 cm or taller...

The quality on the streets (especially large cities like Washington, DC) is atrocious. I am now in Austria , Vienna and even though the girls don't dress up here and many hypsterish girls they are still at least 1+ pt. better on average.

Naughty Boy most of the time (occasionally there are meaningful specials in off season) the flights to south east Asia from Australia are not that cheap. Certainly not cheap enough to make a 3 day hiatus worthwhile.

Don't get me wrong, Thai girls are great and feminine and frequently sexy, but there's a lot of busted faces around. In comparison I find way more Filipina and Malay girls to have attractive faces.

Korea has its fair share of fat chicks who are overly loud, but the hot ones are damn hot. Of course, you're always left wondering how much of it is real.
My perception about Korean and Japanese women changed for the better now, even though I still think they are kind of overrated sometimes.
I have ever seen physically attractive Korean women when I met a couple of them at Osaka last year. Then, I have also ever met a very pretty Korean stewardess when I flew from Kuala Lumpur to Osaka last year. Lee Young Ae is my personal favourite Korean actress, I think she looks naturally beautiful and stunning, plus Lee Young Ae is a charitable person too.
I also have ever seen physically attractive Japanese women when I went to Osaka last year. Then, I also have a Japanese cousin in law who is a really pretty lady, I haven't met her but according to the picture of her that I have seen I think she looks very pretty although she looks kind of similar to my best friend's older sister. Keiko Kitagawa is my most favourite Japanese actress, I think she looks adorable and elegant on the same time.
As for Thai women and Filipina women, my perception about them also changed for the better although I still think their physical attractiveness to be kind of overrated but I still like them. Filipina women could be pretty friendly like Indonesian women, although some of them are a bit annoying. Thai women are very nice, I like most of them.

I'll try to answer whilst focusing on the "Surprisingly Ugly" part of the question, as I think the surprise part of the question implies that the countries don't live up the reputation of hype surrounding them. For example, one could say that PNG girls are not so beautiful, but that's not so "surprising" as there's no hype around PNG girls.
In Latin America - Brazil, Colombia and Mexico has surprisingly ugly girls. Many RVF guys will disagree so let me elaborate. I still think latin america is a good RVF destinations because indeed there are many hot cariñosa girls too and these top tier girls are more attainable than the top tier in western countries, but if we're talking about looks only then the average girl in these countries is quite ugly and doesn't live up to the hype surrounding them. The obesity epidemic is very prevalent in Latin America.
In Asia, Philippines has surprisingly ugly girls. 4s & 5s galore.
Only place I ever been where I could walk up in a bar on a weekend night and be "there's not a single bitch I'd fuck here."
