One I've watched with a few girls that really digged it, was this indie comedy flick called "wrist cutters", with an unusual take on the after life for people who commit suicide. It sounds really mundane and depressing, but it's actual pretty light hearted, funny, and has a romantic angle, that the chicks dig.

Since it's Xmas, I'm going to recommend "The Holiday" - Chics totally dig this movie, which is why I've seen it several times this month alone. I'm batting 1.000 when this movie finishes =)

Other than a +1 for porn, and a -1 for any type of cheesy action flick like transformers, I don't think it really matters what movie you put in. If you rent, let her choose. She wants to, anyway. Although, I've found that if a woman wants to see the movie too much than you are much less likely to get any until the movie is over. So, maybe a +1 for mildly interesting but ultimately boring movies.

@OGNorCal707: I enjoyed Wristcutters as well. Good flick, and it has Tom Waits in it.

If you get a die-hard indie film nerd girl, rent Dead Man with Johnnie Depp, and directed by Jim Jarmusch. Its a great movie, from a "filmaking" perspective (and any perspective if you like artistic type films), with a great soundtrack by Neal Young. From a 'film as art' perspective, its one of the best movies I've ever seen. And the ladies love Depp. Its only for impressing the random indie film nerd you might date, though. Don't try it with anyone else.

I watched Made with Vince Vaughn and John Favreau with a girl last night, she was laughing at it the whole time. Great movie and a lot of fun. Most girls (people) haven't even heard of it, it seems like so you get points for knowing it.

Was going to start new thread but decided against being a n00b and found this.

Update time, what are you guys watching with a girl the first time she comes over?

I use to make the mistake of going highbrow with some cool foreign/indies. I found it backfired because shed be so into the film and reading the subtitles. Girls used to love them, but I wasnt getting much result. Dont Look Down an Argentine flick gave me best results there.

Then I moved on to the blockbusters - Casino Royale and Dark Knight.

My thinking now is that the sweet spot is a comedy that she hasnt seen before with a decent ammount of sex scenes / themes. Gets her laughing and feeling good then puts sex on the agenda without you having to do any work.

Also important is having the room slightly cool, low light and a blanket to throw over the two of you.

Love to know what your all watching with a new girl?

I made the foreign movie thread last year and I strongly recommend NOT watching a foreign movie with a girl. I can only see this working if she has an actual brain or is a true artsy girl.

I always put on something that's gonna make her laugh. That or a horror movie.

I've been watching "Boardwalk Empire" with them. There's something good about having a tv show to watch instead of a movie because it's less of a commitment and you can just start making out. Also, it's kind of a boring show.

It's also good because there is a lot sex and women are treated old fashioned, pre-feminist.

mad men is a good one for that, bitches love mad men. I find watching a romcom or other comedy and making fun of the betas or "predicting" what will happen gets a positive response.

Wait I change my mind- Donnie Darko is THE best movie to watch with a chick. It is an aphrodisiac. I've been trying to figure out why for years. I remember seeing this with my girlfriend ages ago, and as we were walking out of the theater, she pulled me into the bathroom and fucked the shit out of me.

I asked her why, and she said the movie really turned her on. It's got a cult following, probably for this reason. Guys, go try this out and let me know the results.

A few years back after some drinks, I put on R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet and we watched the whole saga. We couldn't stop laughing. Not a "movie" per se, but fun to watch if you're buzzed or blazing. I'm sure you can download a torrent easily.

Also for the hipsters: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Amelie (which is in French). But these two don't really cater to the demographic of the men on this forum. There aimed squarely at the chicks.

WIA gave excellent advice. Just pick a genre off of what type of girl she is. I could put on a horrible, foreign German movie for some artsy slut and act like its a masterpiece so she's impressed.
