Just watched A Dangerous Method with a very intelligent young lady who actually suggested it. The movie is about the birth of pschoanalysis with the relationship between Freud (Viggo Mortenson) and Jung(Michael Fassbender), as well as Jung's patient turned mistress turned colleague Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley). I would not recommend it for your average girl, but if she is bright then give it a try. There is quite a lot of discussion of sex and some interesting spanking scenese with Jung and Spielrein.

Hollywood Sex Wars is great for a mixed group of people.

I'm skeptical about Vicky Cristina Barcelona, it's one of my favorite movies but it's very realistic, and there is no happy ending. My experience was that it usually depressed girls, not so much as Blue Valentine would, but still. Maybe a better take about Spain is L'Auberge Espagnole, about a student exchange in romantic Spain and all that, full of cliches.

I usually go with a simple comedy. Something that is mildly funny, but not good enough to want to watch all the way through. I've noticed if I put on a good movie, one or both of us end up getting into the movie. I would rather it be a movie that keeps them entertained for a bit, but they could care less if they don't watch it.

I remember reading some studies that found that women are aroused by horror movies.

The fear generated creates a general arousal that is easily translated into sexual arousal if you create a sexual context

I would avoid anything too graphically gross though-psychological horror might work better

how do you guys feel about taking a girl to The Hunger Games, I am living in East Euro and this movie just opened here, I read the book a few years ago and thought it was a very good book, from what I understand the film is pretty graphic, and follows the book very closely, has anyone seen the film yet? I dont mean to hyjack this thread, asking about this film, just wondering if it would be a good film to take a girl to.

My biggest rule for picking a movie to watch with a girl is that it will be something I enjoy. If I wanted to watch something mediocre I would let her choose.
Usually I will say lets watch this specific movie, sometimes I will present her a few options. If she invites me over to watch something I always bring a couple of alternatives or my laptop loaded with movies (and a HDMI cable to hook it up to her tv - love my ASUS laptop with HDMI plug), even though chances are we will spend majority of the movie fooling around I dont want some girly shit on in the background.

Just had a chick watch "The Bear" (french version is called L'Ours I think) with me.

old school movie, very little dialogue. Story about a bear cub who gets orphaned and joins up with an adult male to evade a couple of bear hunters in the late 1800s.

Great movie for females who love animals, and dont they all? It will give her an emotional rollercoaster. That cub is one cute little fucker, and he ends up tripping out on shrooms.

Nice bump. The movies I choose depends on the lizard and the fact that I wouldn't mind watching. For you to have a girl willing to watch a movie at your place, does that mean automatic smash? My rule of thumb is if you make it to my place you are going to get smashed. I think I've had females come over for little barbque or get togethers where I never closed the deal but a late night movie? Come on man.

I think this is a good 2nd/3rd date. First date you took her to some bar. Good convo, had a great time but for some reason couldn't close. 2nd date you invite her over for a movie. She has to be thinking in her mind she is getting fucked tonight and agrees. A movie is just a distraction to get under the covers and start rubbin on that kitty cat.

I cannot recommend Van Wilder highly enough.

I've banged girls after watching it 4+ times over the years - beginning in college with some of my first bangs.

Movies about cool, socially dominant, alpha males can give you a halo effect. Just watching Van Wilder, and seeing that you like and emulate Van Wilder, will make her more attracted to you. Of course, this works for any other alpha male comedy.

In general, comedies are better, I don't know why.

One thing that Van Wilder lacks is a real sex scene. Those are good too, because they provide a good reason to start touching/kissing.
